  1. The main reason for a exhaust system is for a bit more noise, especially on acceleration. I agree with what you say. I was going to go for a open cone air filter for a touch of induction roar but I'll just be sucking warm air in. However yes a panel filter would give me performance just not any noise or very little.
  2. I've spoke to shark. Stage 1 remap + dpf delete. Dpf gutted out and refitted and a cat back Miltek system. £1,100aprx Is this a fair price? I think it is, it just seems a lot of money for a a bit more power and an exhaust.
  3. Okay thank you very much ' Wardy ' Yes I spoke to Shark on Saturday and they are ringing me back tomorrow about how much a DPF delete pipe, Miltek turbo back and stage 1 remap will be. I'm hoping to have it booked it for this Saturday if there aren't to busy. But this forum and the guys on here have been so helpful and really have pointed me in the right direction for everything so that i am truely grateful for. (Y)
  4. I'm ringing Shark tomorrow ( based in Mansfield ) and going to see if they'll do me a full turbo back system with DPF removed and then a stage 1 re-map with DPF delete. Any ideas what kind of shock my bank balance is in for? I'm hoping no more than £600 or am I being unrealistic :/
  5. Do Shark make custom exhausts? Or do they just do a dpf gut and remaps?
  6. I don't care about the legality of it. I want it re-moved. MOT isn't a problem for me. It's just finding a place that'll remove it.
  7. Apparently as of the 14th of this month dpf removal is now illegal :/ Grrrrr. Just going to have to settle with a cat back system. Also as for the guys in Hykeham do they have a rolling road to do a before and after of the figures?
  8. Ps- Wardy as for the process they'll be using it'll just be a case of taking the old one of a fitting me a stainless pipe from the turbo back to the flexi pipe ( as my DPF is located at the very start of exhaust process, almost in the engine bay )
  9. Right, I live in Lincoln and I'm having a place called Mr.Tyre remove my DPF and replace it for a straight through. I then wanted to go to a place called Corten Miller and have a stage 1 re map done by them ( which is done through Revvo ). I'm not lucky enough ( or haven't found a place ) that'll do a physical DPF delete and remap all in one. As for the MOT I'm lucky enough to have a guy who said as long as they car passes on all safety aspects and the smoke test...he's not overly concerned weather he can visually see a DPF or not as long as I can top his fridge up with a few cans to which I thought was fair enough.
  10. Right okay. What kind of problems? Just silly dash warning lights or something more serious?
  11. Hey! I'm getting a full stainless steel system with a dpf replacement with a straight through pipe. My question is do I need to get the ECU mapped with a dpf delete straight away? Or can it wait a few weeks - my only reason for waiting is I want to get a stage 1 map with a dpf delete at the same time. So exhaust first then a few weeks later the re-map. Will I run into any problems? I have a Octy Derv VRS 2007. Many thanks, I look forward to hearing your replies

  13. Okay awesome! Gosh this is great forum with some top members If i went for a turbo back straight through, no dpf etc. Would I need to get a dpf ECU delete immediately or would I be okay for half a day or a 30mile trip? Because the custom exhaust place and my remap place are about 30 miles apart and obv I wanna get the car mapped after the exhaust changes.
  14. Thank you very very much for your reply. It has helped me a great deal. One final question where is the best place to get an exhaust for this car? Is there a off the shelf system or would I have to go custom? Prices. Thanks again.
  15. Hey everyone! I'm new to this site today so bare with me. I own a 07 Octy VRS tdi, I'm wishing to upgrade the exhaust system either with a custom or a make. My questions are, which is the best to go for? Turbo back, cat back, straight through??? I want performance as well as a nice noise/note, not into the look at me boyracer thing any more but a nice sound especially when giving it the beans would be nice however do a lot of motorway miles so don't want a loud annoying drone. I will be going for a Stage 1 map after so things like the dpf won't matter as I'm getting it programmed to be removed from ECU. Secondly what are the best lowering springs to go for? Ones that don't really make the ride hard or uncomfortable but still give a better look to the OEM 4x4 look. Many thanks and I really hope someone can help or point me in the right direction...if anyone has any videos or sound clips that would be superb. Look forward to hearing your replies. Ps- I want to keep the exhaust MOT legal. Don't know if CATS matter on a Diesel.
