  1. so just how good is this thing then because it sounds a bit too good to be true especially for something that you can fit yourself:confused: does it give a very noticable increase in performance as no doubt their bhp claims are going to be a bit ott:D
  2. my vrs is exactly the same as this,if you wait for the secondary pump to stop, approx 1 minute then it will drive perfectly.if you try and drive off straight away then it is also jerky for a while.mine didnt do it when i got it and has so far had a new dv and maf which havent cured the problem so i have just learned to live with it now. are everybodys cars like this or is something not right because bk1's car and mine have exactly the same symptoms and can be a bit embarassing sometimes especially when leaving work as i get enough stick for driving a skoda as it is without giving them more ammunition to take the wee:D
  3. i dont see why there should be an issue, plenty of other cars just use space savers as a spare so yours is a lot closer to the proper size than one of those are:D
  4. very strange as i actually quite like the cup holder and use it all the time:O it is the rear one in the ash tray that i find useless as everything just falls out of it:mad:
  5. try spraying silicon spray onto the runners as it sounds as though it is stiff and therefore making it think that something is getting jammed in it.
  6. being that the dealer has replaced the maf today i was kind of hoping that whilst it was all apart they would have thought it a good idea to replace the filter:rolleyes: doubt it though:D
  7. yep was done under warranty which is just as well as i would think that a new maf is going to be a lot of money:D well hopefully that will have sorted it but i suppose i only have the boost control valve and the tip to get done and that will be all of the potential problem areas sorted under warranty:rofl:
  8. well the dealers have had the car in today as changing the dv did not cure the problems. they have just phoned to say that they have replaced the maf and that should cure it.does the maf cause cold running problems.
  9. i am so unsure as to what to do.my stock filter is pretty dirty so needs replacing so do i just fit a new stock one for now so at least it doesnt interfere with my insurance or warranty or do i go with an uprated panel filter or go the whole hog and get an induction kit. decisions decisions:rolleyes:
  10. i think that when you get the cambelt done, the water pump should be supplied foc by skoda looking at the state of that:thumbdwn: that really is not acceptable especially after so few miles.
  11. time for another stupid question from me:rofl: if i were to fit one of these kits and then remove it again if it had to go back for any warranty work, would anyone be able to tell that it had ever been messed with;)
  12. hmmm at first i thought it was a vectra super touring:eek:
  13. so looking at the pics once again:rolleyes:it would appear that the 800bhp one is ok as it looks as if the small pipe fits onto the main pipe as you can see the outlet for it. obviously any air taken from this will have already passed through the main cone filter. thats that sorted then:thumbup:
  14. to be honest i had never even thought of where the stock one goes:O looks like you are correct and that a seperate breather isnt actually needed:thumbup: not sure why i like the look of the top one more, probably just the fact that you get more parts for your money:rofl:
  15. what about the lack of breather filter on the 2nd one though as has been pointed out it could have an affect on the maf. the 1st one looks more bling as well imho:rofl:
  16. i like the look of both of these especially at those prices;) are they safe with the uk weather though as the last thing you would want is to suck up any water:eek:. how exposed to the rain are they and are they waterproofed as the likes of k+n etc are.
  17. if my radio hasnt got a decent reception on a particular channel it keeps searching for a better reception.i find this a pain in the backside as you can be listening to something and then pass through an area that interferes with the reception briefly and then the bloody things starts searching again and you miss what you were trying to hear:rolleyes: is there a way to turn off this function.
  18. :eek:i must be clearly in the minority because i love the noise of a well set up dump valve,OMG i must be turning ch*v:rofl:
  19. i have heard this argument before but how much airflow can you get in the wing and besides the pipe is on the opposite side of the box to the engine so not drawing hot air directly off of the engine.
  20. are there any advantages in removing the pipe that comes out of the airbox and goes into the inner wing.i know it will make the induction louder but will it do anything else. i have had cars in the past that it has made a noticable difference to but have never owned a turbo before so am not touching anything until i know it helps:D i am guessing that it wont help performance or i would have read about it;)
  21. am i correct in that the maf is inside the pipework coming off the airbox.if so i tried disconnecting it and other than the traction control light staying on there was no change in performance,if anything it was slower. did i disconnect the correct bit:confused:.
  22. lol i aint no lightweight myself but as it was like it when i bought it i can still blame it on someone else:rofl:
  23. according to the dealer no fault code was showing:confused:
