  1. oh nice find. I always thought those have been et35. my bad.
  2. Yup, they were wrong, car wasn't handling good, but I was able to run with them for a few months until I purchased 195/50, which is the correct size. As per suspension parts, I did not notice anything which might have gone wrong.
  3. 8y ago it was looking like this.
  4. A few years ago I got a set of Avus 2 alloys from a mk iv vw golf (ET35) with the above mentioned specs, 195/65 R15. I knew from the start the size was bad, but it was a temporary setup. I had no issues or whatsoever while I ran with those tires. L.E.: it was a hatchback, not an estate.
  5. I miss that car every day.
  6. sounds like an expensive job. an engine swap does worth it's cost if you would go for an 1.8T. Personally, I do like more the power delivery of 1.4 8v compared to 1.4 16v. I had them both. My 1.4 8v one required a complete rebuilt at 250.000km because it started knocking and I got metal shred on the oil dipstick. I just had to trash it. I am still missing it and I hate the 1.4 16v. It's just not right. At least not for me.
  7. EPC would get on for things like throttle body issues or a bad brake switch. If you talk about EML, then you should know that my former 2000 Skoda Fabia 1.4 MPI, 50kw, atz engine had it working, in the cluster tests from vcds was perfectly fine, it was getting illuminated, as well as when disconnecting the battery terminals and switching on the ignition for the first time. I had my cat removed, both o2 probes, a lot of errors stored in the ECU, it never got on in my dashboard.
  8. I've been using and testing several options of LEDs for my former car. The projector makes the difference. I compared the same lamps without lenses from Fabia with the standard enclosures from a 2019 Dacia Logan. The difference was huge. While the light beam from Skoda Fabia was spread like flies over a ****, the ones from the Dacia were actually doing one hell of a job. I'd say that LEDs would work well if fitted with lenses. Other than that, it's just a lot of heat, noise from the fans and actually as the other guys said, you can get easily into an accident. It's a no go. It's not the LEDs, it's actually the lamps which are 21 years old in design.
  9. hi guys. it's been a while since I wrote here the last time. I had an issue with a vacuum hose on mine. I had a poor idle and the engine was dying sometimes. I was looking under the hood one morning and heard an air leak, the hose was cut in the middle. I replaced it with a cheap, universal 8mm iirc, fuel hose and works just fine. I don't have a picture at hand right now, it's the one which is in the left side of the throttle body and gets to the head breather, the narrow, not the wide one. If I'll get the chance later I'll take a picture of it and will share it with you.
  10. I'm bringing back to life this topic. Anybody tried to replace the mechanism for vertical adjustment ? My headlight (standard, non facelift, non xenon) can't be adjusted, maybe the lifter is nuked. Is anybody aware of something like a repair kit or anything like this or should I just purchase a complete headlight ?
