  1. I have a "1 year old" 1.4 TSI DSG.SE Had for 1 and 1/2 months now. Loving the 4 electric windows, bluetooth and cruise control. Getting an average of 46MPG (filled it tonight 45litres) and 460 Mile on trip meter
  2. Enjoy your trip through Scotland and hope to hear hoe it went (and MPG ;<) )
  3. Hi Guys, Had a great weekend in the Borders at the Melrose rugby 7's. I drove there/back to Perth and all weekend the roads are winding and undulating. (can recomend the area for a great weekend away) It showed the Rapid 1.4TSI DSG at its best, overtaking was a breeze when required, but generally cruised and got to know the car better (wife drives it all week) It returned (digitally) 48MPG over the weekend (approx 300miles) so well pleased with car and will find out "actual" MPG at next fill up?? (last fill up was 45mpg on general mixed usauge) Bidey fae Perth
  4. Hi, The tyre pressure shown on the petrol cap for 1.4TSI it states - Front 2.3Bar (33psi) and Rear 2.4Bar (35psi) This seems high compared with other cars i have had (have) tyres are 185/60/r15 I did check and the were all consistently down (i.e. F1.8 / R1.9) (using AA digital tyre gauge which i know is un calibrated, but it seems impossible to get calibration done or trust the garage air system) Blew them up as per recomendations and had run out yesterday and car seemed "hard" , noisy and very "Jiggly" about the road when cornering. Has anybody got/had similar issues? and how did you fix? Bidey fae Perth
  5. Hi, Now that you have lived with this sound insulation "fix". How has it been since? has it full worked? Did you report problem initially to Skoda dealer and was ther ant reaction if so? I am also having nightmare with low resonance sound when going slow (30mph -ish) and especially on corners where the the antiskid layer is present. It sets up, an unbearable sound in your ears/head! :<( and is severley spoiling the enjoyment of the car after only 3 weeks ownership.

  8. MMMM? Is this feature on all Rapids? Or what trim level/date was it introduced on? bidey fae perth
  9. Hi Folks, The sill protectors and bumper protector were a dawdle to fit, literately peel off the tape back and place on the areas. Tricky bit is deciding best place to fit. Suggest find best place with trim tape backing still on and mark with felt pen and then fit as its a "one shot" and no second chance. I will upload photos of items fitted. Mud flaps were trickier!! Rear relatively easy. Front requires to drill 7mm diameter hole to fit push in plastic retainer. I used right angled drill head and did not have to remove wheels (which makes access easy)
  10. Parts all received, Carpets fitted all very nice. Other bits will need car washed and dry weather /daylight :sun: ;<) Bidey fae Perth

  15. Yeh, Know what you mean  But it helps stop the paint chips and sill getting to muddy. Roads around here are mostly rural (full of poo and mud)

  18. Hi Folks, Well drove down to Rochdale last Sunday and swopped Megane auto for the 1.4 tsi DSG. Well impressed, a bit of ooomph!!! and so smooth and quiet. Drove back up to centre parcs Penrith and left car parked for 4 days until Friday (itching) Drive back up the road to Perth was delightful. Spare wheel is full size and rear parking sensor working good Still trying to get all the bells and whistles on the Phone Bluetooth to work and to navigate about system (no steering wheel controls on SE) A few scuffs and road paint chips (garage will pay for a wheel refurbish) Washed and cleaned it all today,,, pretty much like new :sun: Bidey fae Perth
