  5. Never tried to redline the rapid 1.4 TSI DSG yet,, wife said that she mistakenly putit into DSG sports mode and it certainly zipped along the whole of the journey from Bathgate to Perth! (not sure how the mpg will look after that??? ;<) Good to have a blast now and then!!!! Bidey fae Perth PS: Eagerly awaiting photos of said new RED motor!!
  6. Errr,, think that will be 750 - 950 RPM? Bidey fae Perth ;<)

  8. Ya Haris, You would be more than welcome ;<)
  9. Ya! Haris, Love your piece of Greek wisdom!! "As the saying in Greece goes : I am a poor man, so I can afford to buy cheap." It sounds very like something we would say in Scotland.(we have an undeserved reputation for being mean!) We are not "mean" just careful with our money ;<) I love my 1.4 TSI DSG Rapid. (albeit it petrol it is still very economical, we pay more for diesel than petrol in UK) I also bought for similar reason to you, i had a 6 year old Renault Megane 1.6 petrol auto (very thirsty) and not very reliable spent many times in repair shop. I have never been to Greece but this autumn we are going for a weeks holiday in Corfu (Corfu Town) We believe it is a beutiful hotel / stay and look forward to some Greek culture (assuming there is some there??) http://www.booking.com/hotel/gr/aquis-mon-repos-palace.html?aid=348007&label=sppctrip-hotel-499974_xqdz-0e11552a78f41e5dcdfd505e96a70281_pool-couk_slice-99999&utm_source=tripad&utm_medium=SPPC&utm_content=images&utm_term=hotel-499974〈=en-gb&utm_campaign=GB&trip=U5XH-QokLhQAACxHJxMAAAAi#HotelFacilities PS: I will also try to learn some Greek phrases before i go to be polite and curteous ;<) I will also be there during Scotland's vote for Independence from rest of UK, i have arranged postal vote. End of Scottish tale! Adio. ;<) Bidey from Perth (Scotland)
  10. Def Rear sensors - boot is big and vision limited DSG ;<) smooth Cruise control - lazy Rear bumper / boot protector - practical Sill protectors / enhancers - practical and smart Steering wheel comms / Phone / entertaiment controls - practical, stock BT
  11. Nice motor, Thought people were struggling financially in Greece,,thats what we here on News / press in UK.
  12. I found my 1.4 TSI DSG for the same price with 14 k miles back in March. TSI engine is sublime and so silent 1.2 or 1.4 ;<)
  13. The Rapid comfort is less than i had hoped. But love the technology of Bluetooth (albeit a bit clunky!) cruise control and my 1.4 TSI engine (zippy) and the DSG gearbox is a dream. I added rear parking sensors, mudflaps and bumper protector. You just throw anything in the massive boot. Loaded two mountain bikes in last weekend without taking wheels off. So brilliant averaging 46mpg and well over 50mpg on a long run. There is a problem with low speed booming resonance noise over anti-skid surfaces particularly, which i am working on to minimize with sound deadening insulation etc (Skoda said it was a feature of the Rapid i.e. cheap) All in all would buy the car again. Especially as i got it for a great price of under £10K its a 13 Reg in March this year. Hope to have it for a long time Bidey fae Perth
  14. "kahunas" for the ****** bits (auto censored) ;<)
  15. Full Monty methinks.(Nearly) i.e. Not the 1.4 TSI DSG? Its the dogs *******s to drive ;<)
  16. Did you take some photos? This would be good showing the door panel removal and where you added insulation ;<)
  17. Towing bracket should have black cover to disguise it somewhat (mines is missing though!) the suspension can be hard at low speeds rougher surfaces etc
  18. Great technical account of DRL's on your car's So what can i do with my none LED DRL's on my Rapid? A blow by blow account would be fab Bidey fae Perth
  19. Ref "Completely agree leave em on... They aint LED's on the Rapid though I'm afraid they are Halogens... (Fully Endorse people switching em for LED's tho)." Are they easy to change and do they show up as faulty light on dash? Bidey
  20. Absolutely leave them on! Volvo invented the idea on the principle it could save your life or somebody elses. The LED lights are the low running cost equivelant and cost nowt to run. (versus dipped or side lights) My rapid came with them switched off and i switched them on first day! Bidey fae Perth
  21. If it helps??? I drove our Rapid 1.4 TSI DSG at the weekend for first time in 3 weeks and it felt great. (wifes car) Plenty of ooomph and so smooth through the 7 gears, also very quiet at motorway speeds. Just the wee (not) low speed noise issues to fix and it will be perfect ;<))) Bidey fae Perth (Puppy with two tails)
