  1. Intercooler next, so you can have that power all of the time I swear after fitting mine, im guessing it would even benefit from having a bigger one fitted as standard...
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Fabia-RS-Yeti-Roomster-Rapid-1-2-1-4-1-8-TSI-TFSI-Petrol-tuning-chip-box-/251581416139?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a936bc2cb This is the best thing i have done to the car so far. especially for the price...
  3. dont need to get ****y man, I just assumed around the 10k+ region, trade your car in, put a bit of money on top (like most people do..) then you're at where mk2s are priced.. I was only giving you my opinion and experience on them.. I did not know MK3s were selling so cheap? when i was looking they were around £17500, that was 8 months ago though. this is what put me off the MK3 and why i went for the MK2 as i had 11k max to spend. i know ford were doing a deal a while back on pre registered ST3 estates. maybe worth looking into if thats what your after?
  4. In the price range im guessing you will be going for the mk2 focus st? Please dont go for the ST you will be bored. and imo they arent a very good car, slow for the economy, interior looks nice, but seats arent all that comfortable, remapping MEANS £900 RS clutch and flywheel. leaky cylinders (mine developed that). unless its the new 250, that will be better that is the one i wish i stumped up the extra cash for in the first place. my choice would be a leon cupra if your looking at spending around 10k..... and im not a huge VAG car fan...
  5. I have not serviced my car since i received it, 1. because it WAS done when i bought the car, 2. its only done 4k miles... When the warranty work was carried out the update was done as well as DSG update and oil change.
  6. i don't rag my car when its cold... anything over 65oc and thats when ill start to open it up. im asking because this happens when cold, as well as if the engine oil is at 95oc+ and i have popped to the shop turned the car off and restarted it. it will happen for a couple of 15-30 seconds of driving then you feel it gradually go away.
  7. on setting 5 do you have any issues when you start it up, kinda like its limiting power? im starting to think that maybe i have a bad coil pack somewhere...
  8. look, im not a scientist/mechanical/automotive engineer, my car is mapped. I had pretty aggressive misfires. i looked online, found what plugs people were running, found what gap they were running. fitted them and had zero issues with it since. if you want scientific ill try help with as much as i can, to my understanding the more power/higher boost, smaller the gap needs to be. as when you increase compression/boost the spark tends to be too weak and can blow out. if you get misfires you can gradually decrease the gap until the misfire goes away, if that doesnt work, its new/uprated coil pack time. thats without going into plug temp ranges. if you're still confused get on google and do a search. if youre really interested in this give a Graham Bell book a read. these are really good, especially the 2t books, they helped quite a bit with flowing and porting. http://www.amazon.co.uk/A.-Graham-Bell/e/B001K89VEC/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1/277-9144905-9969742 when i was running my high comp 2t scooter i was running between .15-.20 gap. whereas standard gap on that engine was .45
  9. tell me about it! you wouldnt believe it though, i managed to find them cheaper but the listing seems to have gone, they were up for £22 with free P+P! i was gutted haha!
  10. I thought these were the ones Revo specified to use on remapped cars? what plugs would you use? tbh the car has been running better and better since fitting these i will no doubt after experiencing, be able to tell when this is going bad this time round i dont mind changing every couple of thousand miles if needs be, i do only do town driving with the occasional drive to my parents down england..
  11. you need to start quoting people george haha is it me you're asking? i bought these if so http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350592387058?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  12. IMO no point pulling them if youre not planning on changing them, its a bit of a half job as it takes no longer to put in a fresh set. thats what i mean, if you dont check them yourself youre literally relying on them being fine out of the box, which i wouldnt do. it takes 2 seconds to check i dont see why more people dont. mine has been fine since changing plugs, my misfire went away instantly, car has been a champ since changing them, it really highlighted how bad it was when it was standard, never mind with the box fitted!
  13. Oh well, if NGK are using that tool, and recording it, for their technical training dvds they must be doing it wrong.. aha. i dont know how extreme when youre gapping your plugs, but im pretty gentle.. tbh, i did use both, feeler gaauge to double check. if youve never used the circular wire one give it a go, its a treat! started using them when i had my ped as my feeler gauge went missing and it has been great since.
  14. if you have this tool and not feeler gauges you can gap them pretty well without actually touching the electrode. you can see there he is working with an iridium plug.
  15. I bought these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350592387058?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I had been suffering from quite violent missfires so I gapped mine to .55 as nothing was stated on the advertisement or the box when they turned up. I had read that people were gapping them between .55-.65 on seatcupra.net... imo youre an idiot (not you) if you dont check and gap them yourself when you take them out of the box... I.e one was .75 two were .65 and one was .8 when i checked the gaps. same with countless other plugs in the past, even when i had a high comp 2t moped and it needed a fresh plug every 1500ish miles, i cant think of one which was the exact same as the one previously put in. .55 has been fine for me and my car.
  16. whoops didnt realise this was an old thread.
  17. when i took mine out the gap on one of the plugs was around 120 all electrodes were mashed. well worth doing every 10k i reckon
  18. Get a tool and its pretty easy, use some common sense to remove some bits in the way but if youre asking what spaller.... haha my biggest issue was the engine was slightly warm while i was doing it, so the spark plug socket warmed up, expanded and stuck to the inside of the head. ADVICE: try and get a 16mm skinny walled spark plug socket gap the plugs to .55 if youre going to do this yourself, use the coil pack remover lube up the spark plug socked with some vaseline have a tin of lynx (or similar) with you for if it does get stuck, spray it to cool the socket down. hope this helps.
  19. I really didnt know this, thanks for the info george! ill get right on it! although, my spare wheel well has been covered in sound proofing.... so that one wont be visable..
  20. Hey guys, i need a touch up pen for my silver fabia MK2 VRS. Ive looked but there seems to be multiple paint codes. anybody got any ideas? or could actually supply me with a touch up pen?
  21. Knew it would have been an electrical issue! glad its sorted!
  22. Its not 70mm its 65mm i made the mistake of buying 70mm after measuring it incorrectly.
  23. This is turning into a great thread, thanks guys. All input appreciated.
  24. 100% agree with this, i dont know if it was this thread or another, i mentioned my electrical system in a citroen not being able to cope with the power needed for the engine and the audio system i had installed. knew it was this thread, hopefully the issue is fixed
