  1. It won't fail mot, they are part of winter pack and I don't have hids. Mind your our own business.
  2. Ive had fan jets since a 52 plate golf. Never used VW screen wash. Best they get is concentrate diluted with distilled water from the tumble drier 1:4. Never had a clog, less than £1/l. Used obd11 to code out headlight washers.
  3. As you would say - NO WRONG! Gross is everything. Use the weight on the V5c.
  4. So from a technical viewpoint I'm correct, gibberish about language is the best you can do? Hearsay surely must have a source? 'Was it necessary in a friendly forum?' would make more sense in 2016. Many of us could play grammar nazi but find plain English preferable. This is a car forum, others exist for splitting infinitives with the English teachers.
  5. I love how you take such pleasure in being right. It must make up for other aspects of your life. Have you you read the type-approval document or is this your hearsay? What im saying about 4wd vehicles as a whole is correct.
  6. The multi fit wheels from recovery van wouldn't be type-approved either. If it fits, use it. The difference for 4wd is to do with winding up drive shaft and diffs and throwing haldex controllers into a spin. Pun intended.
  7. When I'm a longstanding poster I'll be entitled to an opinion in a yeti forum (which I thought it was tinder looking at certain avatars). The cars are not the same, second hand wasn't mentioned in the op but because someone is a 'pioneer' the fanbois form a square and the mods play along.
  8. The two aren't really comparable or competition for one another. Toe rag is a ground-up development 4x4/suv nearing twice the weight. Yeti is a platform engineered c segment hatch. It's like comparing fish fingers to bass.
  9. Mods, please move this non-yeti thread to a suitable board.
  10. Is it worth checking the crash bar is in place? Sounds like a loom or 7/12 core has been cut rather than removing plugs.
  11. I'm thinking about some winter wheels this year and have seen these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191967549545. Would they work on a 13 fabia?
  12. The quote is only specific to the [prospective] policy holder. Your quote might be wildly different. If the OP had a comment to make about poor customer service or their experience of a claim that would be beneficial to the forum.
  13. To my knowledge, GPS does not incude the resultant distance covered as a result of the vertical component, only the horizontal distance, i.e. you are actually travelling further along the road than the GPS thinks you are. GPS is typically +/-10m accurate horizontally (somewhere in a box of 400m2) if it's less accurate vertically this will increase the error hugely and compound the inaccuracy I've described. I understand how GPS works; two satellites intersect to place you on a circle and a third dissects this circle giving two possibilities, one is your location and the other is way off in space or inside the globe so is disregarded. A fourth satellite is needed to give the altitude. A DGPS system with a fixed point at a known location increases the accuracy considerably.
  14. If you remember your Pythagoras from school, the GPS is calculating speed from the 'adjacent' side (of the triangle created by the road surface, the height change and the horizontal distance) but you're driving along the 'hypotenuse' which is longer. If my man maths is right that means it will under-read.
  15. Should show trade plates front and rear. Do cars show as 'in trade'on the DVLA system?
  16. Only two winter tyres is the big no no. Sound like you're living somewhere that could benefit from winters or all-seasons.
  17. Bolts is bolts. All VAG bolts are the same with a radius seat.
  18. You've gone up the back of someone. Harsh reality.
  19. AFAIK all alloys across the vag range come with locking bolts.
  20. Simply because the car is not as it left the factory and removing a security device increases the risk of theft. You are quick enough to say the same as soon as anyone else makes a minor modification.
  21. Exactly - temporary override. Almost like a kick down nothing else.
  22. Hope you informed your insurance company.
