  1. Bet you show that off to all the ladies
  2. Yeah I think 4g is the only thing that tempts me with newer phones than my S3, but not enough to splash out on one. Maybe once this phone dies or I feel that I'd get an enormous upgrade, I'll change.
  3. I use these. Pretty good. £10 per month for 500 minutes, unlimited text and 1gb of internet which is fine for me. Then a separate pay as you go top up on it for when I go abroad. On the £10 one they have tethering available too
  4. Low fuel pressure so the acceleration + idle is horrible ESP light on constantly so I need to figure how to fix that 1 side light needs replacing Spoiler lacquer has peeled away and looks horrible Trim under my handbrake has a big hole in it somehow Rear drivers side window doesn't work properly Rear windscreen washer won't squirt fluid Tracking needs to be re-done ...So not much to fix up before I sell it then
  5. I have yokohama advan v105s all round and the wet grip is ridiculous. Such an upgrade over my old terrible falkens
  6. I don't think that those cars would be opportunists though, they'd probably be scoped out with the idea of selling it off, given how valuable and desirable they are. It comes back to this really: They'd walk right past a Skoda and go for something like your RS4, which is unfortunate because it means owning a high end car is more of a worry for you. Part of the appeal of an octavia vrs for me was that it's not bad in terms of speed/power (obviously no RS4) but most people just see it as a taxi with bigger alloys and a spoiler. I've never really had any worries about it being stolen, even though my area is a Cat D according to that list. I'd think exactly the same about a yeti if I owned one. My condolences on having such a nice car taken though :(
  7. I was born in 89 so I missed all this stuff but my pick would be the Lancia Delta Integrale. I think it's aged spectacularly.
  8. Must be an extremely rare situation though surely? I've lived on a council estate all my life and I don't really tend to hear many stories of car theft anymore. Back when I was younger was a little different, people were doing burnouts/handbrake turns etc, probably in stolen cars, near our house every night. These days though vandalism tends to be the worst thing around here generally.
  9. Well yeah, but on the same dark street as mine there's a much nicer, more expensive Jaguar XF for example. I find it hard to think that even opportunists wouldn't be slightly picky about what they take unless I left the keys in it or something, to make it super easy. Can modern cars even be stolen by mere "opportunists" anymore? I thought that now you have to have the right kit etc to take modern cars so surely you'd be careful about what you take?
  10. I always thought the badge on the front does a good job of repelling people ? The way I've always thought about it is why steal my car when there's a nicer BMW/Jaguar/Audi etc around the corner?
  11. I always assumed it was to wrap long aux cables around... that's what mine is used for ! Surprised with that.
  12. Were there different versions of these then? I only remember seeing one on top gear in that challenge alongside the M3 and Sierra but it looked very different to yours.
  13. I think it's so depressing seeing adults riding in the back while the child rides in the front. My sister operates this setup, and to be honest I've never travelled in her car since she started doing it. If we're going to the park etc with my nephew, I'd rather drive my own car there separately than sit behind a 4 year old.
  14. Top gear gave a riva to lotus to modify a long time ago. Looked ok by the time they were done!
  15. First one is a bit of a non story really, 60mph in any car is hardly pushing the limits. The second one is just a gold digger. The garage already resolved his situation by giving him all his £500 of work for free and 2 new tyres and giving the driver a disciplinary, yet he still felt the need to then go to the papers with the story. For half a tank of fuel he had already done pretty well for himself but he's cool with possibly ruining the garages reputation anyway.
  16. Does the 135 come with a warranty? On another forum I browse regularly they usually recommend buying a warranty with the more complex BMW engines like the one in the M135i. Apparently BMW's after-market warranty is one of the best around. https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Start They usually say a car with under 60k miles is much cheaper to apply a warranty to.
  17. https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ I'm not entirely sure how private parking companies find your info out. Must be a way of retrieving the info somehow if they can.
  18. Alright cheers man. Might have it go to the specialist so they can identify exactly what it is. They do a service like if you buy the parts for whatever is wrong then you don't have to pay for the diagnostics, but it depends on the price they quote me. Would this sort of thing be ok if it turns out to be the high pressure fuel pump? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-SKODA-OCTAVIA-VRS-2-0-TFSI-HIGH-PRESSURE-FUEL-PUMP-06F127025F-HFS853-102A-/161656546239?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item25a37b23bf
  19. Forgot to mention the fuel filter was changed last year by the specialist long before the engine management light came on. He did say that the high pressure fuel pump is a common failure in these cars apparently, but he didn't have time to look at it.
  20. Hello, a few months ago my engine management light turned on. When the codes were read it was identified as low fuel pressure but it still seemed to drive 100% fine (I just assumed it was a sensor because of this). So as I had no money and the specialist I've used a few times was very busy (3 week waiting list) I just drove it and everything was fine. A few weeks ago I started to encounter odd problems with acceleration. If I put my foot down to the floor in any gear at any speed it will begin to build revs for a second or two then get a large vibration and it won't build speed as it should. I can however build revs with half throttle and it seems to go fine like that. A mechanic drove it earlier after reading the codes (still low fuel pressure) and had no clue what part might be causing it. Anyone experienced anything similar + how did you resolve it? Car is an 07 tfsi octavia vrs
  21. This^. Personally I think my octavia is a little boring on the road (never tracked it) because it builds up speed to easily. In my old 1.3 fiesta, overtaking anyone on a country road for example was fun and a little challenging at times! I found my old 1.6 focus the best comprimise between power/fun.
  22. Vauxhall VXR8? Nissan R33 GTR? Supra Twin Turbo?
  23. My old fiesta: Rocks rubbed over the wings to scratch the crap out of them; constant damage from footballs; 2 lads had a fight next to it and one tried to chuck a rock at the others head, unfortunately he missed and my fiesta got a nice scar on the bumper; some huge scratch on the front bonnet; mirrors kicked off several times and wheel centre cap stolen. My focus: Just a wheel centre cap stolen - pretty good going! My octavia - A very sharp deep dent in the door looks like it was caused by a screwdriver or other precision tool (no scratches around it), when I parked on a public road outside someones house next to a park. I'd guess it was some stupid resident who thinks he owns the free spots outside.
  24. Basically every time I apply power the entire car shudders violently and slows down, so I can only use the lightest acceleration. Think it's something to do with the fuel pressure.
