  1. I had found a vw head unit double din sat nav fits perfect, my girlfriend treated me
  2. I have fitted a rear light into my Fabian, so far it has one main light for when the doors are open, map lights that operate from switches inside the grab handles and projection LED's for ambient lighting that come on with side lights. The unit was from a bmw E39 but I took all the electronics out and fitted my own
  3. It wouldn't be used to its full capability but I have 2 just sitting around doing nothing I fix Apple Macs and iPhones so I have Agee things going to waste need new things to do
  4. i don't really like the look of that, i have been tempted to fit on of my macs into my car, probably my mac mini, then fit a touch screen display and link it all up
  5. i like having my phone connected with bluetooth to stream music from my phone
  6. hmm true, i have a pioneer one fitted at the moment just wanted an in built sat nav like the new ones, i have seen the old double din one but the maps look outdated
  7. as the title says, has a new shape headunit been fitted to a mk1 fabia, is it possible if so does anyone have any pictures? just I'm planning on upgrading my head unit next month and would like some ideas to budget around
  8. i have a 51 plat fabia comfort (hatchback) i have fitter an amp and speakers, i have made sure the ground is correct and even tried different grounding points i have even tried a ground loop isolator but all the seems to do it make the volume about 80% quieter and take all bass away :( so I'm left with tin like music and perfect rear speakers link to the head unit. my rica cables are routed on a different side of the car to the power cable and i have bought the most expensive rica cable marlin had so it is shielded and protected but still when i turn the ignition on all you get is a horrible noise that gets worse when you turn the engine on making it impossible to listen to music or my radio
  9. thats allot considering i payed £640 for the car haha yeah your right there haha, i could do the wrapping myself as i seem quite good at that i would happily buy an SE, but for the cost of the insurance and the car itself that will all have to wait a few years i have tried getting quotes from companies they all say we will get back to you and haven't :/ i could do the preparing myself, i have worked in VW in the body shop so i can get access to the stuff they use if i needed to about 4 times what i payed for the car haha thats allot of work, must be nice now though, defiantly one to think about
  10. i got my speakers for £50, with the adapters and wiring at around £15 that would mean if he gets a package like i did he would have change :p
  11. i have a fabia hatchback 2001 comfort and I'm looking to get the colour changed to race blue ( metallic ) or similar i have contacted a few places and no one has got back to me, i was just wondering how much i should be looking at cheers
  12. can't see there being an issue, if you have all the parts should fit right in, unless the door carrier is different which you can just change to the one with electric windows anyway if you have access to it
  13. They do need to be within a certain depth, although you will need speaker adapters, and sometimes a harness for the speaker connectors, depending on how you are doing it. Are you just replacing the speakers and leaving all cables/wiring the same or are you installing an amp with new speaker cable. I know the size of the fabia speakers are 16.5 cm (front) Speaker adapters: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/171240112930?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=t&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0 Speaker harness: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC2-807-SKODA-FABIA-1996-ONWARDS-SPEAKER-ADAPTERS-WIRING-LEADS-CABLE-/360859396352?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5404e5690
