  1. My new Furby was delivered last week and kept in the garage at home until this morning at about 08:00. Taking it easy so got over 50mpg indicated on the way to work. I was tempted to go out at 00:01, but SWMBO objected:(
  2. I've just taken delivery of my '07 model vRS and it doesn't have the wide angle section of the door mirror, so it looks like thats a change to the spec:( I've not yet driven it (other than putting it away in the garage) as its sitting on a "56" plate so don't know if it will bother me as I usually do a shoulder check before lane changes.
  3. My 2007 model is sitting in the dealer's with colour coded handles, but another one delivered after mine has not got them colour coded:confused: I'm not fussed as long as I get the right one.
  4. I'm just waiting on my new Corrida Red vRS to be delived for the 1st of September. I was in the same situation and was able to get a new car, zero miles, unabused (I hope!), full 36 months warranty for not much more that a 9-15k miles pre-owned one in a clour I wasn't that keen on (silver). I was under
  5. Thanks for the prompt replys folks I'd already considered the cubby under the drivers seat where the CD changer goes, but I'm a bit concerned about the lack of ventilation there. You're right that the set can generate a bit of heat so ventilation is important. The space under the head unit may be a possibilty, but it may project and be visible, also may cause problems routing the co-axial cable which is a bit bigger than a "normal" radio. I had intended to fit the display there to be fairly discrete and minimise drilling trim. I also considered under the dash somewhere, possibly in front of the centre console (above the tunnel) as it should be close to the fuse box or alternatively in the rear behind the trim over the o/s/r wheel arch. Your right in guessing that I use the set for motorsport events, although I have a Tait 2000 for use on the MSA safety frequency which will be fitted on a temporary basis as and when required, we have a fair few members of the off road club that I'm in who are Hams so we chat regularly on the way to/from work etc. I'm also a member of our local RAYNET group. I was in at the dealers this afternoon and my car is now in the showroom. It is a 2007 model so has colour coded door handles and green calipers. I'll probably get it a few days before the end of the month so I can get a few layers of wax on it before I start using it.
  6. Any of you share my hobby of being a Radio Ham? I'm due to collect my new Fabia vRS in the next couple of weeks and I'm wondering where there is some space to install my radio (Kenwood TM-V7E). I have a remote mount kit to allow me to position the display somewhere around the dash, but I'm looking for a space to fit the main unit (about the size of a normal head unit) out of sight. I was wondering if there is space behind the dash kicker panels? Or whether to mount it below the seats. It needs to have some airflow for cooling (even considered using the air con in the glovebox). Also is there a readily accessible 15amp feed anywhere? Any spare feeds at the fusebox? Thanks in advance,
  7. All this chat about new motors is making me even keener to get my new one. Just waiting on Chathams calling to say it's in stock. However for the sake of 2 weeks I decided to wait for a Sept registration, though I might take it early so I can seal and wax the paint before I use it.
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome guys:thumbup:
  9. I've just ordered a Corrida Red vRS, due soon but waiting until September for a "56" plate. Wasn't aware of the changes to spec. Being a tight Scot I wasn't paying extra to have a silver car as too many are silver just now in my opinion, black I like but can be hard work to keep clean and I thought the yellow was a bit flat so went with the red. Perhaps I should have gone for yellow? I saw earlier posts about the "07" models, but presumed it was a replacement not an upgrade. What else is changing? Red calipers should look fine, probably better than green on a red car.
