  1. I didn't want to remove the bag in situ, just in case it split, so I just made sure that the engine was cold, sucked out the fluid with a turkey baster and put it into another container, released the expansion tank, disconnected the connector, released the upper hose and then released the lower hose with a pair of pliers. Removed the silicon bag with a pair of long nose pliers and then refitted in reverse order, using the fluid I removed during removal. It saved all the hassle of having to top up an empty system.
  2. I can confirm the wheel bearing has to be removed to allow the guard to be fitted, there are three screws behind the disc that need removed. I replaced mine a month ago, while replacing the discs.
  3. I have used the Motorola MA1 dongle for the past year, all in all a very good unit, occasionally has a blip, but 97% of the time it is fine. I leave mine plugged in constantly, and have had no battery drain issues at all. Hope this helps.
  4. Very nice. I like the look of that, not to extreme. Definitely tempted myself. Possibly on my Christmas list.
  5. Hi , Obviously you mentioned how much the parts cost , could I ask how much you paid for fitting or did you do it yourself? I like the sound of this myself, the fact you have kept the Bilstein B4's as an OEM part, and used the Eibach springs to lower it, sounds like a really good idea. Love the way it passed the wife test🤣 Any chance of a picture?
  6. Visibility was awful when I got my VRS a few years back. I purchased my wide angle wing mirror glasses from here L/H R/H .Really happy with these. Just check compatibility first. I did have a heater fail on me once, I just bought another. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi Alan, I haven't done the job myself, although I have come across a useful video, albeit for a Mk7 Golf, it may give you some useful hints, personally for me, I think I would take it to an independent. Hope this helps. Paul
  8. Take a look at this discussion here, it should answer your question. I had the same issue. The fix is an additional switch assembly fitted to the DSG selector which can be seen here. Apologies its in Russian. I believe that some people had their DSG selector box replaced under warranty, only for the fault to return some months later. I replaced the switch over 18 months ago and have not had the fault return.
  9. The modern day version is called Ghost. See it here
  10. Agree with everyone, during the summer the cars water temp heats up very quickly, but personally, and I feel more importantly is the oil temperature, it always tends to take a few more minutes for the oil temp to start reading 50 degrees centigrade after the water temp has got up to normal, and then another 5 mins (depending on what speed you are travelling) to get up to proper oil working temperature which for me is approximately 95 degrees centigrade. Obviously during the winter, with the cold air hitting the engine, it will take a much longer time for the two temperatures to reach working temperature.
  11. Although, using the Brembo catalogue here, and selecting what I believe to be your vehicle, and looking for the PR Code, it appears that they probably are 253mm. Hope this helps, would be worth a measure though.
  12. 1KD = Disc brakes rear But the PR code is not specific over size. The only way will be to measure them I'm afraid.
  13. Wheel bearing drone on mine....convinced it was nearside, even diagnosed as nearside, changed the bearing still droned....changed the off side....issue sorted.
