Octavia estate - front end knock- not drop links
Jimbling replied to ssray's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Ah not too bad then -
Direct fit simspj ? I have installed speakers and subs to all kinds of cars but wanting to keep it looking oem and rob I will be installing that as well Don't suppose you can do a little vid of how they sound simspj please
-
Right I don't want a sub as I'm past that stage now but I would like a bit more bass from the door speakers, the standard door speakers I had in my Leon were great plenty of bass, so what's the best speakers for all 4, as I will be replacing the tweeters as well if I can, is their a full kit I can buy ? but I have never really seen any speakers as small as the ones that are on the rear plastics in the boot, also what size should I go for as I know I can't go very deep because of the window Cheers Ken

-

Do it do it do it (peer pressure) you going to do it now ? Ha ha any way I think it would look better with the bump strips done would make the splitter stand out more I miss my yellow Leon
-
Looked like a good meet that, yes I had a stupidly low yellow Leon and it wasn't fun you had to plan your route carefully or end up with a 2 mile tail back with me crawling over speed bumps at about 2mph (2mph so every one can see us LUDAAAAA) it was fun on twistie roads but a pain for a daily no multi storey car parks so couldn't go to the metrocenter without having to park miles away Keep up the work though car looks great
-
Glad it's staying but get the bump strips painted totally transforms the car, makes it look more moddern, thought about launch control as well ? Or pop and bang on let off/run down
-
Sod it mines going white on white

Octavia vrs a good replacement for a fabia vrs?
Jimbling replied to Clunky23's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
See I'm like this at the minute I'm thinking of going back to a pd150 instead of the 1.8t but I don't like how they handle or the power of them even after a remap I just can't run it on vpower atm but power seems down when I use normal fuel -
This is going to be mint once done
-
Haven't got my Haynes to hand but I just use a big breaker bar and tighten till I can't turn no more as they are hard to get undone as it is
-
Big bolts are for the sub frame, you will need your wheels off, take the pressure off the drop link and undo this first on both sides, drop the sub frame down just the 4 big bolts (might have to undo the steering rack but don't worry), this gives you enough access to the 12 or 13mm bolts that are in, take them out then side the arb either backwards or forwards then to one side of the car, lube up your new bushes using the grease, pop them on your r32 arb and slide the arb back in and then reverse what you have done should take no more than a hour tops and that's using ha d tools, I do them on my back just on axel stands

I have this problem also I thought it was down to having the bigger turbo on and not had it mapped yet but something just isn't right

How to removed rear boot struct braces?
Jimbling replied to Dean's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
You using hand tools ? Tried a battery gun or air tool ? We use them at work and if the captive nut snaps off providing the bolt ain't crossed we chuck the gun in reverse and put a tad bit of pressure on the bolt either pull down or up and then pull the trigger and boom out comes the bolt, even if you can get a little pressure underneath the bolt as you use the gun it will zip straight out, to reinstall I would cut a small hole in the bar big enough to get a new nut and spanner in so you can bolt them back in, I want some of these for my estate -
Looks loads better, I need mine done. I have already replaced the carpet so just need the seats and door cards done, did he wet vac them ?

I think a briskodian car meet at this douches house -
Well looking at the front of the car there was nothing that really made it stand out, until I seen a fellow briskodian build thread and pinched an idea off him and I like it … Paint had gone a bit funny at this point but didn't mind as if I didn't like it after it was dry I could just pull the paint off After one side was done Loving the look just need my tow strap on and now the finished look Will look mint when the strap is on and I update the front badge to a mk3 vrs badge in my eyes Comments welcome Cheers Ken

If you have a battery gun or air tool you should be fine to get the bolts out, bit of advise though try tightening them a little bit before loosening them and some wd-40 or the likes or even a blowtorch to heat up the nut and it will zip out
