  1. This is a good idea, my cunning plan wont work as they are in an area not covered by street view. I would go and take photos of the place where it happened as well. The guy on the web site looks a right thug, actally all of them across the Synter group do. (its not libel or slander if it is true BTW)
  2. I have the same car but 2006, I have replaced the EGR valve at 120k (€800) (km´s) changing the DMF next month (€1,000) as it has started to make a noise, Make sure the DSG has had regular oil changes every 60k (km´s). Listen for the DMF, there is a rattle when it is cold in P or N. Only just changed the brake pads at 130k. watch for uneven tyre wear, mine was bad until I had everything laser alligned and now no problem. Be aware that when you go for a test drive the ECU/DSG may take time to adjust to your driving style, also make sure that all of the gear chages are smooth up and down, especially 2nd on the way down. apart from that i love my car and would heartily suggest you get it.
  3. dont change the spare and just suck it up and buy two new tyres for the front. Thats what I would do.
  4. Do audi do a DSG? is it not called the stronic?
  5. 18 for me , all year round, winter drops to -6 here and summer up to 43
  6. Tell me about it , trying not to spend 1k€ and soooo many questions. Oh well hopefully one of the sages of Briskoda can tell me, I miss lummox!
  7. Aha, I have the DSG so is it the clutches in there?
  8. Hey, They said that they supply parts for all German cars (VW group) BMW, Mercedes etc, I was in their warehouse and it is pretty large, (technical term) If anyone wants anything I will ask them but they said that the neighbours discount is 50%. Oh and by the way, can you tell me if the sachs unit is the right one?
  9. Hi Everyone, I need a new DMF for my 2006 Octavia 2.0 140, (code BKD) noticed that there was a car parts wareheouse next door to our offices and went in, they told me that they are usually €597 without VAT he will give me one for €352 including VAT. two things, 1: If anyone wants me to get them something I think 50% off is pretty good, especially taking into consideration the exchange rate, 292 GBP at todays rate for this part. Briskoda has been good to me so I am not looking for profit here. Shipping would be extra. 2: They only have the Sachs unit not the LUK unit, is this the right one, bloke said it could be either. Let me know if i can help anyone and also if this is the right one please. Cheers, Giles
  10. Go for an Octy estate and cut back on your wish list, things like DRL´s perhaps, get a DSG 2.0 PDI 140 Second Hand and will will be a trusted friend, I just came back from Malaga with 4 adults a 2 year old and all the luggage piled to the roof, did not miss a beat. This includes having to drive up a very steep farm track to get out of the place.
  11. I do not have maxi dot but if you press and hold the button on the stalk that might work.
  12. perfect choice same as mine (apart from DSG and small wheels and sports kit, so not realy the same) but you dont have the optional bumps and scrapes!
  13. Hi there, here is a video of a similar noise I had, bear in mind that this was with ingnition on but no engine, it sounded a little similar from in the car, it was the EGR valve 700 euros later, no noise.
  14. I think these threads perpetuate the problem. And apparently get people a bit hot under the collar. Skodas are good cars and speak for themselves, do you really want everyone to know and not have something different, Shhhhhhhh!
  15. You were close but mine is grey!
  16. I would agree on the tyres issue and as I have posted many times the seats are rubbish in the Octy 2
  17. In the Octy thay are hidden with a zip, dont you have one?
