  1. Hahahaha. Quitters. Only surprise is that Renault didn't quit first, since both have repeated history of running away from F1 when they can't win. That might just trigger an exit clause for Verstappen. Mercedes might well get him on the cheap instead of Hamilton ( who must surely wish he'd signed a contract already ).
  2. Still waiting for something, anything, positive from Liberty F1. Sacking Ecclestone made for a clean break, but what have they achieved since? It seemed like Mr Carey was more concerned about being seen in F1 than actually doing any business. They haven't gained anything in their stated target market, the USA; Vietnam has built a street track, but it remains to be seen whether F1 will catch on there, or if it's to be a white elephant like Korea, India etc. and they've lost the long established Sepang event. It seems that Liberty's input is mostly unsuccessfully tinkering with the rules to handicap Mercedes.
  3. It is getting ridiculous though. Attempts to cripple Mercedes engines by mid season rule changes. Attempts to reduce Mercedes aero power by changing the aero rules for next year ( the '21 cars were supposed to be the same as this year's. ) Frequent protests against Mercedes from RedBull. Any transgression from Hamilton gets stamped on whilst others get away with it. Like leClerc yesterday scot-free despite repeating his slow corner crash wrecking another car error. Even when it's clearly 50/50 Hamilton gets the book thrown at him (collisions with Albon), but for others it's a "racing incident". Surprised all at Mercedes aren't extremely paranoid by now Don't know what their contractual position is but if they break all Ferrari's records this year and then walk, F1 would look pretty silly with only 12 cars. With a dieselgate to pay for the DB board could decide to save the big racing budget for other priorities, like VW did.
  4. Mine didn't work for months because I had the C/C set to windscreen. Switched it to AUTO AC, and start stop began working.
  5. How I laughed at Bottas "F*** You" to his critics. Surely he must see his win was gained wholly in the stewards office (with a Fellow Finn driver steward no less). Hamilton started on the wrong tyre because of a penalty in Qually. And without the 10 second stop go penalties, Bottas didn't ever really look like beating him, even on the better tyre choice. I suppose Valterri must enjoy whatever crumbs fall from Lewis table, but the radio "F### You" speech wasn't really valid this time.
  6. That was already confirmed last month. Ferrari's bigger slice of the pie, and their rules veto are both written in to the new Concorde agreement that all the teams agreed to.
  7. It is a disaster. He had to do that time on softs so he's knackered strategy-wise. 33 & 77 are on mediums, so they'll likely tow past at the start then hold him up/go longer on a one stopper. Hamilton will do very well to get better than 3rd tomorrow.
  8. Wheel-size.com for alternative sizes - might find a cheaper option.
  9. Tyrereviews.co.uk for customer feedback and professional reviews.
  10. Lol I sent him here from SeatCupra. That said Carista is free to download and trial, if you have a compatible OBDII reader of course. I just Googled "Skoda Rapid service indicator reset" and there are YouTube video guides popping up. It's the same car built in the same factory so...
  11. There are lowered cars pics on here in "Rapid Projects" section. Also a thread in this section " A picture of your Rapid..." Not this section, just noticed you posted in "Rapid Guides", rather than the normal one.
  12. In the first few years of Rapids, posters on here thought the ride wasn't really affected by the shorter eibach pro-kit springs, some even said it smoothed it out a bit - but the handling was way better. The tyres you have fitted probably make more difference to the ride. I've had 3 different sets of OEM tyres on these and one of them was way nicer riding than the other two.
  13. Thanks for the top tip 😉. My Firestick is sat here in Spain with a top VPN on it, just the lack of a TV or Internet connection is holding things up.😆 100 Meg Fibre install Tuesday, big screen 4k telly's start at 200Euro, so we'll be all sorted by the weekend. (Torque is the motorsports app I'm using, bloody brilliant, years ago it was call Motorsports Replays I think. Glad to see it back)
  14. Eibach do -30mm. Used to be Skoda UK recommended parts too. Make sure you get the correct ones. The TDIs and 1.4TSI need stronger front springs than the 1.0/1.2TSI. Eibach list 2 different part numbers for the fronts to take account of the weight difference, around 100kg. Search in these forums for other options. H&R do -35mm but I couldn't find different part numbers for the lighter and heavier models.
  15. Well I bought a Spanish SIM, used it as a WiFi hotspot, and Roberts one of Father's brothers. ...how to make one of the most stunning circuits look boring...run F1 cars around it. Praise be that Assen lost the fight for the Dutch F1GP to Zandvoort.
  16. I think her indoors has many jobs that need doing around the place. Spending a whole afternoon in a bar isn't going to happen 😆
  17. I don't expect to see this race ☹️. Moved to Spain a few days ago with no TV or Internet in the flat yet. Expecting the track to be difficult for overtaking although once the tyres are worn some of them should get DRS passes done into turn 1.
  18. That would be embarrassing. Lance is clearly improving this year, but if he beats Vettel, Daddy will have spent all that money, on a 4 time champ, for pretty much nothing.
  19. Lucky old Vettel. He's been mistake prone for a few years, burned off by a young team mate for the last season and a half, and now gets given a fairly decent seat at Checo's expense. Oh well, Mr Stroll is trying to build the profile of his near bankrupt supercar company, but I still don't know if it's a good move. I think his new driver is unfortunately more known now as a has-been, rather than a 4 time champ. Sorry for Checo, he's had some brilliant results over the years for Force India/Racing Point, brings a lot of money to the team too. I wonder if he'll try Indycar? Mexican sponsors often put money into that series.
  20. Sorry to pull you up yet again, but your comparison is 8o11ocks. Goodyear had pulled out of Indycar after '99. Firestone (a Bridgestone brand) were the Indycar tyre suppliers in 2005. They had tested at Indy and Bridgestone modified their F1 tyre as a result to cope with the 1 banked corner.
  21. The fuel limit is for "green" reasons. The engine limit is for cost reasons - to stop people like BMW using 6-10 engines per driver per weekend (very entertaining that was too). At least in Schumacher's day the cars were flat out, stopping 3 times for fuel and sticky tires but really fast between stops... unfortunately the actual racing was complete pants in those days, so F1/ FIA changed the rules.
  22. The 18 inch change is for marketing purposes only. The current high profile 13s are not modern enough for F1. (or relevant to what Pirelli sell)
