  1. I thought the oil burning was outlawed the year before. Ferrari last year were cheating the fuel flow rules - as cleverly as Honda got round the boost limits in 86/87.
  2. Disappointed by RedBull Honda too if I'm honest. Not got the one lap pace of Mercedes today, and this is Hondas 6th season now. If the car was anywhere close to the W11, I'm sure Max's talent would have it on pole
  3. Really? Pole last year. 10th & 11th in Q2, and slower than their last year's qually time in Q3. Scandalous and so obvious they were indeed cheating. The FIA look like chumps too for not being able to completely prove that Ferrari cheated.
  4. Verstappen used the latest front wing off Albons car in P3, closing the gap to the front to a negligible 0.2s. Now just waiting to see who can turn their engines up furthest in qually, Honda or Mercedes?
  5. Protesting now could potentially f*** Mercedes up for several races. Also there is no mechanism for protesting outside of a race meeting as far as I know. The stewards rejected the protest. RedBull can of course appeal, and eventually we could end up with a stupid McLaren/Ferrari 76 or Williams/Benetton 94 situation with race result changed more than once, racing under appeal, going to court etc.
  6. 215/35R18. 7X18 ET46 5x100 Peviously reported on here to drop about 6 or 7 mpg I think which sounds likely as I lost 3 mpg going up to 17s. Wheel-size.com also lists as possible 225/35R18 7.5X18 ET42. or 235/35R28. 8X18 ET35. I don't know if anyone on here has tried them but these both give a bigger overall diameter than standard. EDIT There is an old Rapid photo thread on here. I'm certain there's a spaceback on 225s with BBS and low springs in there.
  7. It's going to be a political championship. If you can disrupt the opposition at just one race that could make all the difference. The team most likely to challenge saw both drivers spinning at turn 1, the team leader off in the gravel at turn 6, and explained their slowness by claiming said team leader broke his front wing on his fastest lap. So let's try plan B and protest the Mercedes, already repeatedly declared legal by the FIA, then...
  8. Well done Racing Point (and Renault in P5?). I think RB are possibly hiding their potential on Friday. Honda have been publicly crowing about making big progress on the engine during the lockdown, so we will see what it has got in Q3. For me the best part of the day has been getting live F1 free again, working throughout the sessions, although currently only on PC rather than Amazon Firestick and big screen. Oh and downloading all The Witcher books free too.
  9. I've tried hairdryers but it's easier just pouring hot (not boiling) water over the badge at stage 3. Hot water, then dental floss, worked great and almost all of the glue comes off too. Just a quick rub of WD40 and its completely gone.
  10. Silver Arrows go black for 2020 in BLM move. Reminiscent of the '93 Sauber C12 which marked Mercedes return to F1 after 38 years away.
  11. F1 to race at Mugello? Bit narrow maybe and don't know what it'll be like for overtaking (turn 1 with DRS could be OK) but wow - what a track. Looking forward to watching F1 cars there.
  12. Ask resident expert @Rustynuts
  13. Se fine, S no. Look at "how many left" Hardly anyone bought the preceding Rapid S or Toledo S. Those specs belong in the 1970s.
  14. Pretty sure its only held on with 2 bolts? Try the Fabia section. Pretty sure it's the same part on Fabia 3. Or Google Seat Toledo Armrest. It's the same car as the Rapid.
  15. Interesting. This used to be a regular question in reverse on here since it was omitted from early low spec cars. If you use the search function, some of those threads will explain how it's fitted (and therefore...how it's unfitted).
  16. Nobody buys the base model as they are harder to resell. Unless it's going to be a keeper of course.
  17. Mclaren now looking to sell 30% of the F1 business. If Williams and Mclaren are in this much trouble how will any teams survive? Surely the other privateers must be struggling, and the manufacturers wont be able to afford it either. Renault? Often leave F1 for Financial reasons Honda? Likewise, tend to quit if not winning titles (and on cost grounds too) FCA? Can they justify the cost of the Alfa team to new partners PSA who've never been keen on F1. Mercedes? Have won everything, what's their motive to stay? It seems like a house of cards waiting to fall. What can the FIA replace it with?
  18. I've got a newer one now, but I've never tried to calibrate it.
  19. It depends where you are. Sat in a factory spec F150 4x4 in traffic, you can see clean over the roof of Land Cruisers RangeRovers and Q7s. They all look so little 😉
  20. And here Use the search function at the top. Search for Xenon AND Rapid. 45 hits.
  21. Previous Rapid Topic.
  22. The factory standard halogens have long life bulbs which gives feeble glow like a yellow candle. Most on here that have upgraded go for Nightbreakers or similar at maybe 10% of the cost of the projector headkamps. I don't think the projectors were ever optimised for RHD either. Maybe some Irish market owners can elaborate ( they were optional over there ).
  23. I think the major issue when this was looked at on here 5 or 6 years back was the £650 a side cost ( or thereabouts ) But at least the discussion is there in the Rapid archives.
