  1. Cheers jamie for the parts. Nice meeting you. Trustworthy seller
  2. So yet again, i find my self chasing rattles. The rattle was getting annoying and sounded like it was coming through the exhaust tunnel so first off i got the car up in the air and gave everything agoing over. The only thing i could find was up near the down pipe but couldn't really get to it from the bottom so decided to pull the air box and battery out and give them a clean in the process and try and sort this rattle. So removed the airbox. IMG_7235.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7237.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The amount of much around and on the battery had been annoying me since day one! IMG_7236.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7238.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7241.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Yummy IMG_7242.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7243.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7245.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7246.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Bingo, on poking around i found the problem, one of the gear selector cables was loose and was free to bang off the exhaust shield. After some slight manual adjustment and some cable ties its not longer able to bang about. IMG_7271.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr I then set about cleaning up the manky battery hardware. IMG_7279.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Cleaned years of oily grime of the gearbox and surrounding area's IMG_7282.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Then started to re-assemble IMG_7285.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7288.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7289.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7290.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7293.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7295.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7296.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The Results IMG_7300.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_7301.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Took it for a test drive and the rattle has gone!
  3. Its weird, maybe bad turbo from the remanufacture's. Police siren is not a good sign at all and that turbo should probably make a touch more power then 180. I guess you have to pull the intake off and inspect the cold side of the turbo.
  4. Think you need to get under the car and confirm where the oil has come from. Hopefully not the turbo oil feed line.
  5. Cheers for the reply. Was hoping for a blt so i could keep the egr.
  6. Was this off a blt of azy? Where abouts are you located mate?
  7. http://www.bigfishtuning.co.uk Lots of praise from alot of people. Or fabooka on here. Im going to be using big fish when im getting mine mapped.
  8. Thats the bargin of the year! Very good deal!
  9. How much did you pay? If you dont mine me asking? So ive got an idea of whats a good deal
  10. Cheers buddy will give them a look. I live near darlington. So only a stones throw away from them!
  11. Drop links and Anti Roll Bar Bushes. Was getting a slight knock from the front end and after doing a bit of research it was going to be most likely ARB bushes/Drop links. So for how much it cost decided to do the lot! Started off by getting the car in the garage and jacked up on axle stands and front wheels off. IMG_6626.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The offenders! IMG_6627.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr I decided to whip the wheel arch cover for easyier access as the plan at the start was to clean the arches etc. IMG_6635.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6636.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr So on to removing the old bushes, what a pain! The drive shaft's prevent nice easy access! The bottom bolt on the passenger side can be got with a 13mm deep, on a short wobble bar with the flexhead 3/8 ratchet. The top bolt, is an absolute pig, 13mm spanner is the only real option to get to them! Even once they are out you cant get the old bolt out do to fowling on the drive shaft! The drivers side the top bolt can be got to by the ratchet but the bottom one requires you to jack the hub to lift the drive shaft out of the way so you can get in with the ratchet! IMG_6638.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6639.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6640.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6641.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The saddle finally removed! IMG_6642.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The top bolt that you cant remove! IMG_6644.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Went to TPS to get genuine ARB Bushes, old v new. IMG_6645.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6648.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6650.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6651.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The bushes that came out are genuine so most likely the originals. Next off was to whip the drop links off. Old V New. These where non OEM so have been changed in the past. TPS wanted £28 a side for the drop links so went for some First line ones from my local factors for £10 a pop, if they go bad in the future i will be replacing with Meyle HD ones. IMG_6652.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr The fast easy way to removal the drop links if replacing is don't bother trying to undo just chop them with the grinder! IMG_6655.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Gave the saddles a clean up, acid etch then paint. IMG_6656.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Old bolts given a clean up to aid in easy installation. IMG_6657.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6658.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Installation was fun, a spray of silicon spray on the new bushes helps get the saddles back over them. The key is to get both sides started then do the bolts up. If you try do one side then the other you will never get the bolts to line back up. IMG_6662.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Drop links change nice and easy with both wheels off the ground, no prying required. IMG_6663.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6664.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6665.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Ran out of time so didn't get to clean the arches, so that's a job for another time! Took the car for a shake down and the slight knocking i had was gone and the steering was feeling a lot more sharp! Good improvement for only £26 worth of parts!
  12. Cars looking good now buddy! Wheels are definitely marmite! But i like them! Can i ask where did you purchase your turbo from? Looking at getting one for mine!
  13. No, you need g12, put the Bluecol in and it will turn your coolant into a brown sludge! Either dealer or TPS will have what you need in stock!
  14. Sorry to here that mate. Looks like they are going to repair my rear quaters where they meet the bumper, looking like the sills are a no go tho! Body shop quote around 200 a side to fix and stonechip the sills
  15. Love the wheels mate. Suit the car! You will love the C5 did mine the other week and after a week of driving the brake dust just washed off with the hose pipe!
  16. Cheers mate. Will look into it. Cheap sounds good to me!
  17. New Boots. So this happened! 20160504_173123.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Grr, massive screw in the sidewall, o well opportunity to replace with new! Decided to replace all 4 with new Uniroyal Rain Sport 3. Could of got away with changing just the rear two but got a good price for doing all 4. While at the tyre place got to have a nosy under the car while it was over the pit for alignment. 20160505_124458.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr One of the rear connectors had fallen off so the lads put one on for free. 20160505_124932.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Tracking was spot on, so no changes needed! On the drive home at first i wasn't impressed as they felt quite soft and squidgy, but after a few more miles i came to like them, certainly improved braking and acceleration. Brakes can grab alot more before the ABS kicks in, so all in all im quite happy to say good bye to my Kenda Kaiser ditch finders! So got home and gave her a quick wash. IMG_6434.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Then went for another spin since the weather was so nice! IMG_6435.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Lots of tread depth! IMG_6436.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Shark Skin Technology apparently, what ever that is! IMG_6437.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6441.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr IMG_6445.jpg by Daniel Kellaway, on Flickr Going to be quite on updates for the next month or two, noting big maybe just some taking apart and cleaning and painting. A lot spent this month with the refurbishment on the wheels and now a full set of premium rubber!
  18. Got a full set put on today. wallet feels about 300 notes lighter, o wait it is!
  19. You didnt buy your thermostat from eurocarparts did you?
  20. Dont BLT engine's run around 150 from the factory anyway?
  21. They are the correct 312mm carriers on that ebay link. However you would have to be some kind of magician to make them fit 288mm calipers. Absolute dreamer with the price. I paid £85 for carriers calipers with 1000mile old discs and pads!
