  1. Top notch Lee. Very many thanks. I'm off to check /raid the piggy bank! Guy
  2. Great write up, many thanks. Having eibachs on Kevin already I'm sorely tempted to go with B6s and the Passat bump stops as well. Do you have the relevant part numbers? Guy
  3. Thanks for detailed response Lee; very helpful. Think it will be B6s for me too. Guy
  4. I'm thinking of tweaking the shocks on Kevin. Presumably B6s are still ok to use with lowering springs i.e. Koni with 30mm drop. You post above suggests the B8s are firmer than B6s. Yes? Guy
  5. What did the dealer's original advert or website listing state? Use that as a guide. Guy
  6. You should be OK for a straight swap as I did this move on my Yeti just over three years ago. At that time I bought an Octavia VRS MFSW with paddles and had it fitted by my local Skoda dealer (to preserve OEM fitting for warranty and insurance). I then visited Shark Performance who enabled the paddleshift using VCDS, which took about 10 minutes. Hope this helps. Guy
  7. Browsing through some old threads (checking out Miami Blue Roomsters) and found this. Here's another Roomster with Sport Seats;- I did a conversion a few years ago with Fabia Sport fabric and foam (the frames are the same). Looking now to transfer them into a newer Roomster Scout. Guy
  8. That's the nub of it. Tiptronic is a 6-speed traditional auto with hydraulic torque converter and 'lock up' on upper gears i.e. its the same as the 4-speed the OP is thinking of. Newer models have DSG. Guy
  9. My wife likes her Roomster to the point that we are in the process of ordering an (near) identical replacement! Different colour and replacing Tiptronic for DSG. Guy
  10. will this work with the difference in weight between the 1.6TDI 2WD (Greenline) and a 2.0TDI 4x4? Guy
  11. See You may have trouble with the ET45 offset on these Audi rims. As they are 8J as opposed to OEM 7J they will be 25mm wider, with 12.5mm of this extra width on the inboard that may possibly foul on the wheelarch or suspension when turned on full lock or when suspension is compressed. ET35 or less will be better. As to running a lower profile in summer, I have 225/45 18s on 18in 7.5j ET35 rims which tighten the handling and steering response nicely, with only a small penalty on ride comfort. Good luck. Guy PS> some 10 or 15mm spacers should sort out your offset issue. sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  12. Just to be specific the ARBs are for the Golf Mk V R32; need to remember that the rear ARB has to route over / around the rear diff. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  13. Qashquai; I suppose. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  14. Exchanged waves with a grey or aqua blue Yeti having reg no ending AAA in Rickmansworth town centre at lunchtime today. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  15. Mar Same reason that a Golf is more expensive than a Golf Plus. Marketing and desirability. Simples; eek! Guy PS> It makes the regular Rapid, which is only a whisker smaller than a Mk II Octavia exceptionally good value.
  16. Having sat in and driven several original and FL Yeti there is no difference in the location of the seats or the driving position, between the two versions. The reviewers are IMHO confused. If they believe the driving position is too upright perhaps they should have adjusted the seat / steering wheel to a better position; there being a wide range of adjustment. 17. I had a Pure 300Di, Skoda approved kit, fitted to the Bolero in my Yeti last Autumn by Progress Skoda, at an introductory price (from Skoda UK) of £279 fitted; it's now £325 IIRC. Very neatly done with the control unit to the right of centre, so that as the driver I can easily reach the controls The aerial was fitted quite unobtrusively to the nearside rear fixed window which means that with the sunset glass it is barely visible from the outside and finally the USB socket was installed on a lead in the glove box All very neat and worth the cost, considering I had neither the time or inclination to do it myself. 18. What about eibach springs? I have a set fitted to Kevin. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  19. Leave them as they are, you should then be able to sell them on easily when you no longer need them. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  20. Alternative suggestion. Use a hair dryer to warm and soften them. Then peel of with a finger nail or fine plastic spatula. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  21. Not high up at all; didn't work for me (6' 3" by the way). I have seat set to lowest, then quite far back (not fully), backrest fairly upright and steering wheel pulled fully towards me with top of the wheel aligned close to top of instruments. PS> it took me quite some time to realise this was the best having worked with higher positions. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  22. Those wheels are available from UK Skoda dealers part no 5JA071497JX2. Car needs to be lowered though to carry the styling. Guy sent from my Sony Xperia Z1
  23. I'm fine waiting as patience is a virtue. Guy
  24. Don't know exactly how much the Skoda ones lower by but my guess is 25 - 30mm; having seen them fitted (with 17s) you wouldn't want to lower the car any more. Guy
