  1. Since you want to go into numbers, Volkswagen Passenger Cars had a 4.5% increase in sales revenue while ŠKODA had a 14.5% increase. ŠKODA also has almost double (8.4%) compared to Volkswagen Passenger Cars (4.3%) on operating return on sales. Not to mention the 1% decrease in sales of Volkswagen, while ŠKODA had a 11% increase... Maybe they should look at themselves before trying to undermine ŠKODA
  2. They should be the same tyres as described in the owners manual.
  3. Well in the past 5-7 years they’ve had a bit of a ‘rags to riches’ story, it’s unfortunate to see Volkswagen’s directive to ‘put them back in their place’ in my opinion. Of course many people here will disagree, but ŠKODA’s rising popularity especially outside of Europe has been because of their increase in premium features and perceived value for people coming from outside the brand. Most people new to the brand have been cross-shopping brands like VW Volvo and Peugeot, not Dacia. Unfortunately ŠKODA’s rise in popularity has come at the cost of the “golden child’s” sales so VW have to protect them by neutering ŠKODA.
  4. https://english.radio.cz/former-czech-pm-asks-government-speak-volkswagen-about-future-skoda-8696405 Very interesting article. While I'm taking this with a pinch of salt as the comments were made by the ŠKODA trade union, things like "the chief strategist of Volkswagen, Michael Jost, “hates Škoda” and “is actively moving against it”. Several stories have also appeared in Czech media this year suggesting that the newly appointed head of Škoda Auto, Thomas Schäfer, has been tasked by Volkswagen to “cut Škoda’s wings“ and make it a cheaper car brand aimed at competing with Renault’s Dacia in developing markets" is pretty concerning.
  5. When haldex is due, make sure to get the dealer to clean out the filter. Plenty of haldex 'failures' for Golf R owners are due to dealers not cleaning out the filter inside the haldex unit.
  6. Any good locksmith really
  7. You can definitely get the key blade with plastic attached from AliExpress
  8. All snow mode does is dull the throttle response, you wouldn’t really need it if you’re used to driving in snow to be honest
  9. Again, makes no difference. Using the right product makes a bigger difference than in which direction you foam the car. I did it both ways yesterday and the dirt came off the same on both sides.
  10. PS4 but since you’re too cheap go with Pirelli
  11. Yep, I haven’t been to the UK in a long time - surely the traffic isn’t that bad that a short freeway stint without being in stop and go traffic can’t be done on a fairly regular basis?
  12. Oh but no....he had a bad experience with some previous Pirellis that are from a different product line so he could never have a Pirelli branded tyre.
  13. I do a lot of town driving with mine and even taking it on a 50mph freeway for 20mins or so is usually enough to do a regen
  14. I doubt it's slipping the clutch with the parking brake on. Every MQB DSG equipped car with a manual parking brake has actively slipped the clutch in an attempt to crawl with the parking brake engaged, in my experience.
  15. Maybe you can change when it comes on by changing the “switch on sensitivity” or whatever that setting is
  16. The contis wear quite quickly from what I’ve seen on this forum. Glad I got the pirellis! Good grip too.
  17. I already linked him the Pirellis earlier in the thread for $1740/set which I really rate but he’s either not seen it or he’s a tyre snob that’s too cheap to get an OEM tyre size
  18. I’m sure that for Chris getting new rims would be far too expensive for him.
  19. Yep. Cheaping out on non-OEM spec tyre fitment isn’t worth it if you have to explain to your insurer that you haven’t fit the correct tyre size because you wanted to save money and them telling you that your claim is denied...
  20. https://www.tyroola.co.nz/pirelli-scorpion-verde-seal-23545r20-100v-ty5bc945df3d.html Not even a bad price - why skimp on tyres on a £36k car
  21. Last time I had a loaner Kodiaq without VC it didn’t do it and I had to use the back button.
  22. 100% agree. If brake lights dazzle you then you shouldn't be driving on roads considering the glare from modern/unadjusted headlights as you've mentioned.
  23. The VIEW button changes the look of the VC, not the actual information displayed. @morganic needs to press the 'back' button that's next to the right scroll wheel on the steering wheel, then use the scroll wheel to select Telephone.
  24. How are you washing your car?
