  1. Both the Kodiaq RS TSI and TDI ONLY have the external sound actuator. I've driven both (and own a TDI).
  2. Mine warms up within 10km easily. No mechanical issues so far but I've only travelled around 62,000km in it.
  3. Same spec too! What a coincidence…hope yours has the performance exhaust, my word the theatrics are next level.
  4. Decided that while a stage 1 Superb would be very quick and effective, I need to give ICE a more proper send off before confining myself to a microwave on wheels for a daily.
  5. Been dealing with a knocking noise when going over sharp bumps when off the brakes. Turns out the pads are a bit loose - seems like the DBA DB8849XP are made specifically for the Golf R caliper which is cast a bit differently and uses a retaining clip. Is the TRW GDB1918 the correct replacement set of pads for the 340mm rotors? I don't want to start a new thread just to confirm this.
  6. Is it worth doing this for a 2.0 TSI? Is it worth doing this for a 2.0 TSI? Doing water pump next week. Is it worth doing this for a 2.0 TSI? Doing water pump next week.
  7. Bugger all difference it seems from https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2023-Auto-Bild-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm
  8. Can you explain, with pictures? Multiple sellers sell different product by different makers so it’s not unreasonable for them to have minor visual differences. Just make sure to look at reviews.
  9. Car went in today due to the Side Assist module getting "bricked" for no apparent reason. All fixed now after doing a software update. New issue is that they have discovered that the water pump needs replacing as there's a leak, 83,000km seems a bit early?
  10. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002043321853.html
  11. I wonder what work can be done with this as it appears you can change compression per channel https://mqb-blog.com/en/2023/04/17/sound-settings-editor/ No clue if it works for Canton though
  12. If their VC has that style carbon graphics then it will show the "old" normal graphics:
  13. You mentioned on hot weather and steep terrain - you might not be using the peak power but you'll be using the peak torque and working that turbo. Definitely will need to upgrade the cooling - a lot of tunes aren't exactly tested towing in hot weather with increased load like the manufacturers do.
  14. One of the reverse lights have gone out - two years for NZ$10 I can't complain about, so bought the same pair again. They have reduced the diode count however I reckon they're brighter, we'll see how long they last though (not sure if they'll last as long).
  15. Sounds like you need to go to a different dealer.
  16. How come the 1.5 and not the 2.0 190PS? I found the 2.0 TSI a good fit engine for the Karoq.
  17. @simonharper as you mention that it doesn't happen when applying brake pressure, 99% it'll be the pads.
  18. @simonharper the image I posted is the anti rattle clip used on the Golf R for the brake pads which are supposedly interchangable with the Skoda 340mm calipers. But as the Kodiaq doesn't have the mounting point for the anti rattle clip (different casting), this causes some play in the shims on the side.
  19. Most brake pads designed for the VW 340mm brake setup are made for the Golf R which has an anti rattle spring The calipers that Skoda use don’t have this and cannot fit them thus a lot of aftermarket pads not having shims that fit quite right.
  20. This sounds like you have tried to use the central button after your partner locked the car? If you could use the central button after locking the car, it would defeat the whole purpose of the SAFELOCK system. Get your partner to not lock the car from the outside while you lock the car from the central button.
  21. Why don't you just lock the car yourself using the interior button instead of your partner using the key? It sounds like your car has the safelock system which is essentially a deadlock - this automatically engages when locking the car from the outside. If you read the manual, it literally says "DANGER - Danger to life! There must be no persons in a locked vehicle with the SAFE function activated." You can disable the deadlock by pressing the lock button twice within two seconds. The warning light in the driver's door will flash for about 2 seconds in quick succession after the vehicle is locked, then it goes out and after 30 seconds it flashes regularly at longer intervals.
