  1. After a bad experience with a VW dealer and a manufacturing fault with a camshaft on my previous MKII vRS, the VW garage replaced the car with a money equivelant (a Ford Mundane'oh). Thankfully It looks like i'll be getting my Dad's FL vRS next year and i can get rid of the diesel Mondy. Do any of you know what bits can be put on the FL TSI from the TFSI?? as i have a few things in my shed that i only had on my old car for about 2000 miles. I have: Milltek D/P with Sport cat and cat back non resonated tail section Weitec Ultra GT Suspension kit BSH True Seal Intake Forge Valve and blow off spacer Neuspeed Hi-Flow Intercooler Pipe Coversion PCV Revamp Kit Shark Performance STS (Stage 1,2 and 3 maps on my pc) Also does anyone know the percentage of owners that have had the camchain tensioner issues on the TSI as this worries me a bit after my last vRS blowing up!!!!!!!!! maybe i should get a MKI again as i never had any issues with the WRC Thanks in advance Exportio_vRS
  2. All PMs replied too. Does anybody know a way to get my pictures on the forum as they are far to big. Can you still use something like photobucket etc?????
  3. Long story short, I bought the car from my Dad, added all my mods, got VW to do a cambelt etc etc then VW blew my car up after i had owned it for only 2 weeks. I now have a number of modding parts available most having only done 3-4000 miles whilst VW were trying to rectify what they had done. Wietec Ultra GT suspension kit (fixed rate shox and springs, for those who dont want to go as extreme as coilovers. I was very impressed with these) £330.00 Milltek non resonated turbo back and sport cat full system (I bought it with 1 of the front hangers missing, this doesn't effect the hanging of the exhaust. Ben from Shark Performance will vouch for that as it was his from his old black demo vRS AWESOME SOUND!!!!!!!!) £510.00 BSH True Seal Intake with heat sheild (could do with a new filter) £120.00 Neuspeed Turbo Intake Pipe £75.00 BSH PCV Revamp kit £25.00 Forge Valve and new servicing kit including an uprated yellow spring £70.00 Forge Blow off spacer £30.00 Poly bush lower engine mount bush (never fitted) £7.00 Shark STS unit ( I also have a couple of maps but dont know if they are able to be sold and used on other cars) £100.00 Postage!! If you want to buy it then I will get a price calculated for you. If you are interested then send me a pm with your email and i will forward pictures on to you :-) most things i will be able to send by post easily, the suspension and exhaust are obviously heavy so might take a bit more effort. I have PAYPAL If no one wants them the they will be going on Fleabay lol.
  4. I dont know about your but my Octy auto locks after if left open. Dont know if its got some form of proximity sensor on the key fob!!!!, my Mk1 Octy did the same!!!. Some tech on here may be able to confirm this for you Ross
  5. Yeh I agree, as i said im pretty sure its the garage hence why ive not been paying for any of the work !!!!!!!!!!!! and they havent asked for money i was just checking if anyone had had anything similar happen to them. they assured me that the recent issue is coilpacks, so have replaced all 4 then they phoned on Mon and said yeh we took it for a test drive and realised that its actually something else, something is leaking :wonder: Problem is now i dont trust the car, i dont want to get stuck somewhere with my 10 month old when out and about. I just want it back working and reliable so that i can enjoy it and all the mods. I havent had a chance to give it full beans yet :'( Ross
  6. Hey all, Have any of you moddified vRS owners had any problems with the engine after modding it you can see the list of mods i have in my signature. My car is a 56 plate and had 20,000 miles + full service history when i bought it with no previous mechanical problems (i know as i bought it from my Mum & Dad). I had the Cambelt done as it was 4 years old then i had it remapped and ive had nothing but problems since. Inlet Camshaft broke where the cog is fitted on the end, (took VW 1 month to diagnose the prob after stripping my engine twice. 2 weeks later the head gasket started leaking oil every where, the fixed that problem then 2 days after it was fixed the turbo started sounding like a jet fighter and it was stalling and struggling to get up hills etc, the have said that something is leaking. ive put this down to the fact that the garage has buggered up as the have fixed these problems no cost to me. As i said before, basically have any of you modded vRS owners had any engine probs after modding?????? thanks in advance Ross
  7. As the title says, this is the code that i have on my car at the moment. Any ideas how to sort it??? Thanks in advance Ross Exportio vRS
  8. It is the inlet cam as far as I'm aware, basically the cog on the end of the cam that has the chain connected to it is loose, it's a very rare fault, VW Wolfsburg HQ have only heard of it happening once before about 3 years ago on a MkV Golf GTI it's got nowt to do with the lobe as far as the VW garage are aware. It allowed the inlet valves to be open very slightly which in turn gave no compression on all 4 cylinders. It took them 10 working days to diagnose the problem :-( however all I'm having to pay for is the parts at cost including the lifters as some of them have been damaged :-) Ross
  9. Awesome fella thank you, !!! Luckily it's just the one that is faulty, at least I have an idea of the price before the garage attempts to take the **** !!
  10. Hey all, Has anyone had to replace a camshaft on the MKII vRS ? if so any idea on the price of the part itself or part no ???? Ross
  11. Very easy on the Mk1 vRS, it only involved 10 minutes of my time, however the MkII vRS is a right B***H took me an absoulute age!!! grrrrrrr lol Ross
  12. Thats a big fat yes for the MkI vRS, the standard Bosch DV was very prone to failure in standard cars never mind ones that have been remapped Ross
  13. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay, Received my STS today , now all i need is my bloody exhaust to arrive and i can actually put the map on GRRRRRRRR its taking ages :'( Ross
  14. I'll second the Falken FK452, very good and very cheap, i used to swear by Toyo T1R on all the cars ive owned but these Falkens are as good!!!!!!! between 60-70 quid from Camskill i believe and get them fitted by your local Hi-Q Jobs done Ross
  15. I bought my 56 plate vRS from my Dad with 20,000 on the clock 3 weeks ago and i have it in tomorrow for its cambelt kit and water pump, you cant be to carefull!!!!! Only problems it had is the ABS/ECU Teves 60 thing which was replaced under warranty and 2 new headlight washer covers as they fell off. Ross
  16. I have ordered a full Turbo back + Sport Cat for mine and i cant wait. It only cost approx £860 compared to approx £1100 for a Milltek Ross
  17. Fantabulous, I had the powerflex on the MkI vRS WRC i used to own. I must say i was more than happy with that so it looks like i'll stay with them then Thanks for your help Ross
  18. Any ideas which Torque insert to get for my MKII vRS (56 Plate), as there are quite a few available, Neuspeed, BSH etc Thanks in advance Ross
  19. Yesterday my Service indication was 4999miles with the little spanner next to it when i started my motor, today I know have just a flashing spanner ????? I fitted the BSH PCV Stage I Revamp kit yesterday but cant see how that would affect the service indication. I also changed my side lights to match my xenons, after completeing the job i left the bonnet open, opended the drivers door and turned the ignition on, then followed a lot of electronic beeping and buzzing from the engine bay. I remember something about this with the MKI Octy and that it reset the throttlebody alignment i'm hoping this had nothing to do with my sevice indication Any ideas???? Ross
