  2. Tbh, you're also asking at the wrong time of the year. Any decent heating/boiler engineer will be up to his eyeballs with failed boilers etc. so now isn't the time to look at changing. Your best bet is to bite the bullet this year and start saving up for late summer next year, will also give you time to have a good look around at your options. As I believe you are planning to make this home for a few years, I reckon, from talking to my tame boiler engineer about my own set up, you're probably going to be better off long term changing it to a new condensor type, aparently some are now coming with 5 year warrenties so hopefully they've sorted out the teething troubles.
  3. I'm still hoping to come to this, but I'll probably be a bit late.
  4. I happened to be watching the videos from 2007 last night..... I'd be possibly up for this again - standard comments about cost, time off work blah blah. As to "Driving it alone", it is possible, I've done it twice. However, this time I'd be tempted to take the Felly and leave a day earlier as I don't think the Felly can maintain the same motorway/autobahn speeds as my Octy vRS could...... :p 1. 6. Hmmm, I'm just wondering actually. Not the first couple to meet on the forum, but can't think of any other couples that have got married. Indeed it does seem like a long time ago. Where does the time go? :(
  7. Congratulations to you both. Hope you're both happy together forever.
  8. Sadly, once a smoker, always a smoker, even when you're not. Last smokes I had were last March, but I was in Benidorm with a load of lads getting drunk every day and I smoked a couple whilst drinking; other than those, over a year now, and this is the 3rd time of stopping. Even now I get the odd major craving, so I've got an electronic ciggie to suck on BUT with one major difference, I selected 0 nicotine screw in vapour holders so I can do everything I need to recreate the action of smoking without any nicotine, so far that's been more than enough to quell the pain.
  9. Tough case, and I do feel sorry for the girl. However, I can't help but feel the driver is being villified for being a maniac on the road for driving too fast. The information I heard on the case was the driver had pulled over to the left in order to avoid an oncomming car, and clipped the girl. He then parked up and spent a considerable amount of time looking for her before finding her in a ditch, I can't help but think that "There but for the grace of God etc.". He was driving at 50 mph down a 60 mph road, the girl wasn't wearing any form of high vis clothing, was wearing headphones, and had her back to him - when I was growing up I was ALWAYS told if I have to walk on a country road walk facing the traffic so you can see what's coming and get out of the way, or move over to the side well out of the way and wait for the traffic to go past. Had she been on a school trip, for example, and been clipped in similar circumstances I reckon there would have been an outcry with hysteria splitting blame between the teacher(s) for NOT supplying hi vis clothing and the driver. There has to be a basis of common sense and reasonable endevour in any situation and my ultimate view is, whilst tragic, the girl displayed a lack of common sense and resonable endevour in making sure she could be seen and therefore I feel must accept some responsibility for what happened. Had she being wearing a hi vis jacket then it is reasonable to assume the driver of the car would have seen her, would have slowed down or not moved so far over and wouldn't have hit her, the hi vis jacket alone would have probably been enough to overcome the headphones and which side of the road she was walking on. Truthfully, I expect the judge to go down the route that is being trodden more and more, the motorist is evil, therefore it is wholly the motorists fault and the insurance company will be forced to pay out.

  12. One day, the stars will align again and I'll be joining in on this trip, alas not to be this year. Have a great time everyone, still can't believe Tigger is using a Sat Nav, just seems so wrong.
  13. I bet the cops thought they were on some comedy program being set up at first. Personally, I'd have detained him under the mental health act :p. So, according to Youtube, I'm guessing his name is Dave Murphy, and there doesn't appear to be a part 4 where he gets his car back despite part 3 been posted 7 months ago........
  14. Maybe I got lucky but I removed all mine without any problems or breakage. Just used the cover to gently prise them up then wiggled them out.
  15. I've had this twice recently, problem was the skuttle drain hole being blocked. You'll need a 13mm spanner to remove the wiper arms and then carefully lift the plastic cover, however, the wiper motor is in the way so you'll need something to poke around to find the hole (ooo err misses :p ) and clear the crud out. The drain hole is the side closest to the wing.
  16. Except a higher cetane number means the fuel starts to burn earlier and so more of the energy is released in to the cylinder to force the piston down before the exhaust valves open. Meanwhile, on topic, I find my little 3 cylinder 1.4 diesel does get better mpg on vpower, to the point where it negates most of the increased cost, but I do seem to be in the minority, most seem to report it lowers mpg.
  17. Jason, you really like your cars to be dogs, first the Mongrel, now this. :p
  18. I always go best tyres on front. I'm no great driver but I'd rather spin the car than hit a child as the front tyres were worn and not gripping as well as they could.
  19. You might get away with it 'cause of the jubilee bank holidays giving you an extra couple of days to sort it out.
  20. Some "interesting" decisions in this game. Not sure what was wrong with the second Greek goal.
  21. Sorry but I'm having to pull out. :(
  22. Hopefully I'll be there, with Hayley and the two little 'uns.
  23. CCNA exam isn't easy, to give yourself a realistic chance of studying and passing the exam I'd say you need 6 months (yes you can probably do it quicker as per the post above - but I really wouldn't recommend trying to). Network administration as an area is huge, may I suggest you look at other networking kit, for example, firewalls as there are a number of options there and they're a bit less obvious than the Cisco exams so you may find the job market a little less crowded.
  24. Might be able to make this one. I'm on call that weekend so may have to shoot off, or just not be able to make it at all though. 1. LexVRS 2. occyoccyoccy 3. GillyWibble 4. Tigger and Paige 5. vrs/steve 6. apd007
  25. Way back when I was in my teens my mate used to use "Do you wear those shoes in bed?" Surprisingly it worked :S
