Mayoboat started following New windscreen report and Columbus Map updates
-
Hi to all with columbus Nav, I could not load the latest map update, my 32 Gb SD card said it was short of 215 Mb. trieid reformating card (FAT 32) still no room on card. Did this several times, still short of room. Checked that card had no bad sectors, came back all OK. Phoned customer services, they said it should go on 32 Gb card. So I bought a new card, now all OK. So the old card Phillips, was only ever used for map updates, and used 10 times. is there a limeted life on cards? The card still works, and will let me download other stuff from my comuter! Just put this up incase anyone else has the same problem All the best Mayoboat

I Had a new screen a while back, OEM fitted the dealers by their prefered fitting company over 900 quid, but worth it. Insurance covered it less the windscreen eccess (NFU) Mayoboat L and K 280

You must use the premium Disc from Brembo and pads.

Brembo make high carbon discs and matching pads, will not rust as much as OEM Demon tweeks can supply. You can go on Brembo web for part numbers. Mayoboat

Why buy a £40,ooo car and worry about the cost of an oil change, when my 280 was new I changed the oil and Filter every six months for the first 18 months. Yes a bit over the top but this car I wan't to keep and it only does a small annual milage. Mayoboat

Mayoboat replied to yesman's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)

I saw on here somewhere that a superb MK3 owner had fitted the extended paddles. There is a link to an ebay site Paddle Shift Extension DSG VW Golf 5 Golf 6 MK5 MK6 GTI R32 R R20 Aluminum Black | eBay I can't find the OP so I am asking members if they would fit a Superb MK3 Estate 280 with the steering wheel buttons. Thanks to all Mayoboat

They did not charge for a retest, they had done the service then took the car over to VW for MOT with the Master tech, that's when they found the problem I think they must have a beam setting instrument that is put in front of head lamps? Only had to pay for resetting lamps. I will see if there is an improvement when I go out to-night. Mayoboat

Had my car in to main dealer for annual service DSG gearbox oil change and MOT When doing the MOT they said that the car had failed its MOT due to the headlamp aim being to low. The car is a a 2016 L&K that has Smart light assist and does the dance with the lights when you switch on. Last MOT was OK. any one else had this as I thought the headlamps were self leveling. seems strange to me. dealer reset lights for a fee!!! Mayoboat

Hello all, I had this problem using windows 10 . First go to the Skoda update portal and put your VIN no into the box. Follow instructions. use a class 10 32Gb SD card and Format to NFTS. Mine would not work on FAT 32. down load the Zip file to your download file on windows, about 2hrs 15 mins down load, then unpack to your SD card. It will unzip automatically if using the latest version of windows. no need for a Zip file unloader. Then put SD card into either of the SD lots in the glove box and go to the cog wheel in the infotainment screen and go to map updates select and wait. If it finds the SD it will take about 40 mins down load. I hope this helps Mayoboat

I know this an old post, but was wondering if I can get some help regarding the the newer update on the satnav. Mine is a 2016L&K 280 with canton. I have the 19/20 version loaded in the usual way IE:- down load from web site trans to 32Gb SD card, all OK. Now when I did the same for the latest version map 20 it will not load onto canton it says it cant see the SD card. I have tried to load again from scratch, all to no avail. I am using the same Phillips class 10 card that I have used on all previous down loads . Members please help as I have now run out of expletives. Kind regards Mayoboat
