  1. That’s the usual de-speccing of Irish market cars. To some degree an effort to reduce effects of our double taxation VRT on new cars, stripping down the base taxable value of the imported car. Probably also a VAG cost- stripping, profit maximising function too ! Car makers/importers always got away with cutting corners here! You had (I’m guessing) the mid-spec “Ambition” trim - in Uk , the mid-spec SE gets Front Assist, Bolero, and I think, the standard manual aircon. It does however get the LED DRLs and projector headlamps here. Even the Style (SEL) level here doesn’t get Front Assist, and it gets only manual aircon, (have rarely seen auto aircon/Climate on Fabias here). Tthe standard radio specs have been lower here across the range - my early Style got a Swing radio when the Uk ones at the same time had Boleros. (They appear to have evened this up in the last year ) Smaller wheels on Ambition with higher aspect ratio, probably reason for lower road noise. My one (on 16s) is fine on road noise levels, though had a loan of one on 17s and it was noticeably harder around town. Style level also gets under bonnet noise insulation - as I recall - absent on Ambition. Octavia seems to fare better with spec at that mid-level. Overlooking these (kinda annoying) issues - it’s still a great little car to drive!
  2. @peter3197 yeah, I can understand parts being delayed - however the critical issue was the quality of communication. It’s difficult to have trust when communication was off-beam - especially when there was more wrong with the car than a blown bulb - as originally implied. Yes, delayed parts and misdiagnoses are common and frequent enough realities - however this dealer did seem to be less than up-front and clear ..... when he could have been. When they’re BS-ing on one thing, what else will they BS about? @Dazza12345 suspected something was “off”” and the dealer didn’t retrieve the situation in a way that settled Dazza’s suspicions. That’s a Get-out-of-Dodge signal for me! Especially when there’s plenty other non-faulty cars and even some dealers who are reasonably straight up. /end rant !!!
  3. All I’d say is to take your “thinking time” and if you’ve the slightest doubt - walk away! There’s lots of other good cars out there! And dealers! This one is not making a good impression - already!
  4. Hi Daryel - on basis of your description - those symptoms don’t sound quite right . A faulty bulb would take them no more than 10 minutes to fit - and it’s odd that they don’t have bulbs in stock. A faulty bulb just throws a red triangle warning light below that display between the speedo and the rev counter . It should not be associated with the engine warning light - if engine warning light is on - there is something more wrong than a blown bulb! [edit]... and as you say - it shouldn’t need a test drive for replacing a blown bulb !! Just seeing @Offski‘s response there - and I’m in agreement - there’s indications of “fishiness” here, that demand answers.
  5. You got a good one there - they have thrown up problems for some people. Myself included! Tried a selection of them at first - then saw a comment somewhere on here about it. Changed to standard and no probs since. The issue there is the micro card’s connection with the adapter card becomes intermittent. Car vibration exacerbates the problem. Had fun and games with my own in the beginning. File cleaning after saving from a Mac was another, and max file count in the root directory (sometime a prob if >1000) . Just to throw more possibilities into the mix !!
  6. Also - are you using standard SD card - and NOT the one with the micro SD in an adapter card?
  7. My Fabia III was built on Week 21 - 2015 — the week that they finally got the Smartlink ( CarPlay & Android Auto) to work on the Fabia. However - as regards the Station Logos - it is a menu option on mine. I gather some others on here ( try posting on the Fabia III forum ) with earlier Fabia III - some have the Station Logo menu option - some don’t. You could ask there, if early Fabia III owners got their Station logos to work. There was a thread there for this exact subject . Bear in mind that with most UK owners on here, their Fabias had Bolero as standard. It seems very few in UK had Swing (or even the Blues radio) I had the Style/ SEL trim and in Ireland, Swing was standard !
  8. Pretty sure that @the_raz means the right scroll-wheel on the steering wheel .. not on the Bolero screen ... Scroll to the item you want zeroed - and then press-and-hold the scroll wheel. Should work!
  9. @lawnmowerman Yes - we also try to forget the Shi... sorry, Ritmo !!!
  10. You’re not imagining it ! The same guy involved in the design of both! They called them the Stilo here.
  11. Guess it’s to mimic a “family” look - it’s on the Octavia and Superb saloons too. However, the estates on all three, just get a little hint of it on the “third light”. A smaller hint of it on the Karoq but not the Kodiaq. They must have tired of it.
  12. Guitar ( mightily resisted temptation to put “Brothers “ in again !! )
  13. You talking about the Torx-headed screw holding the glove box in? @horkin Edit: Snap, Auric !!
