Karoq Brake pads and discs
When I had my Karoq serviced by my Indy last year he advised I needed rear pads and front discs soon. As it was something I was capable of doing myself I just asked him what make he uses. He said he always uses Pagid. Never had a comeback on them unlike others he had fitted at customers request. So that's what I bought. I have a VCDS cable so that's what I used to wind back the electric parking brake. Simple operation and everything has been fine since I did it.

2.0TDI 4x4 DSG problems
The service kit I used was from Ebay and it cost £86.95. It consisted of 6L of Millers DSG oil, a Febi Bilstein oil filter with seal and two sump plugs with washers. I'm probably going to get shot down in flames for not using genuine VAG components but it's a chance I've taken.

2.0TDI 4x4 DSG problems
I did the dsg oil filter and oil change yesterday. There was just under two litres of oil left in the gearbox! I suspect I lost the bulk of it on my last journey home. (around five miles). Took it for a drive and all seems well. There was a drip or two of oil on my return but I suspect (hope!) that is the residual oil from the leak that I couldn't get to. The sound deadening material on the under tray was saturated but I got out as much of it as I could. Needless to say I'll keep a close eye on it for the next few days. I have attached the latest? dsg service manual. I hope someone finds it useful. Looking at lots of different 'how tos' there seems to be confusion regarding the overflow pipe. According to the attached manual to achieve the correct oil level, if the pipe is beige you unscrew it two turns. When the oil stops running out you tighten it up again. If it's red you don't need to. Mine is red. Here's hoping............ 7-speed-dual-clutch-gearbox-0gc-eng-2020.pdf

2.0TDI 4x4 DSG problems
Thanks all for the replies. To update this thread, yesterday I decided I would take off the mechatronic unit to send away for testing/rebuild. As I jacked up the car I noticed a massive oil leak. Upon investigation found that it was leaking from the dsg oil filter housing. It was very loose and needed about four turns to tighten it. I have ordered a dsg service kit. Oil, filter and seal, and two drain plugs. The car is staying on the axle stands until I can do the oil and filter change, hopefully on Friday. The car is now five years old and done 34k miles. I mistakenly thought the dsg service was due at four years or 40k miles. This was done by my indy garage last year (April 2023). It had its annual service this year (April 2024) and having spoken to the indy garage he assured me they would have spotted any oil leaks this time round. I can only assume the filter housing wasn't tightened up properly fourteen months but how has it taken this long to show problems. Here's hoping the dsg service by me fixes all the problems.

2.0TDI 4x4 DSG problems
I have a 2019 2.0tdi 4x4 SEL with DQ381 DSG, 34k miles. Recently, I have been having problems with gear changes. Initially if you drove fairly sedately there would be a definite hesitation between 2nd and 3rd. Drive a bit harder, or use kick down things were much worse. I did a scan with vcds and two clutch faults were logged. 10895 - Clutch 1 P1898 00 [00101100] - Function Restriction 10896 - Clutch 2 P1899 00 [00101000] - Function Restriction I cleared the faults a did a dsg reset. Drove the next day and things had not improved. In fact I was parked face down on a slope and couldn't reverse off. Couldn't go forward so had to be towed off. Once back on level ground the car would go into reverse again with a loud clunk. Scanned the car again and got the following. 10726 - Gear Selector 2 P176B 00 [00101000] - Cannot be Regulated 10896 - Clutch 2 P1899 00 [00101100] - Function Restriction The first fault has the time stamp of not going into reverse. Managed to drive home and spoke to my local indy. He asked me to send him the scans and he would have a look and advise. Not heard anything back yet. He also advised me not to drive it. I'm struggling to understand if this is a clutch or mechatronic fault. I think a faulty mechatronic would be the cheaper option to repair. There is a good video on YT that shows you how to remove it and send it off to a company for test and rebuild. I think that is something I could cope with. Of course pointless if it's a clutch fault. Any advice or experiences will be greatly appreciated.

Considering a Karoq 2.0L TSI Sportline
I'm a caravaner and when looking for a used Karoq I couldn't find one with a towbar fitted. I bought a 2019 2.0tdi SEL and it didn't have towbar prep. I had a Tow Trust detachable swan neck towbar fitted by a mobile fitter who came to my home to do it. As the car didn't have the prep it seemed to take him hours to complete. All is good and it works as it should. I would certainly recommend Tow Trust.

Clunking Drivers Electric window on closing
I see from your OP that you said "also the drivers multi switch has a mind of its own, works then not" and that you had it replaced. Did that solve the switch problem? I have a 2019 Karoq with the same problem. I'll open any window via the drivers multi switch and very intermittently I can't close anything. If I reach across to the passenger switch I can then close the passenger window. Sometime the easiest way to close all windows is via the key fob when locking the car. That always works. I suspect it is the drivers door multi switch but it is so intermittent that it hasn't bothered me too much. I'll look into a new one if it solves the problem, but of course way out of warranty.

Lost SD card back of phonebox cover
I did exactly the same with the wifes bank card. 😲 It was retrieved fairly easily by taking one side of the centre console off. The passenger side is easier as you dont have the footrest in the way. If I remember correctly there is one torxs screw towards the front then it's held on with clips. As I remember I think it just slides one way to clear the clips. Sorry can't remember which way. The card was just lodged behind the phonebox. Good luck!!

VCDS upgrades
I have a 2019 Karoq SEL that also doesn't have auto dipping. It was on my last 2015 Octavia SEL and I quite liked it. It all depends on the camera you have stuck to the windscreen (by the rear view mirror). If it's the wrong camera, as mine is, then you can't just enable auto dipping. I believe you would need a new windscreen and correct camera.

Tow bar fitting
I bought a 2019 2.0tdi SEL last year and had a detachable Tow-Trust towbar fitted by a local mobile company. I had it coded to the Karoq and all works well. I tow a caravan. With caravan connected and in reverse, the display shows a symbol of car with a caravan. The rear parking sensors are disabled but the camera still works. (the reversing camera is ideal for hitching up) I recently tried reversing a trailer for someone and didn't connect the electrics as I was only going across a yard. I got about half a meter and the brakes slammed on as it thought I was goint to hit something. I connected the electrics and all worked as it should. I know that when the towbar is coded to the vehicle it changes a lot with something connected but I'm not too sure what!

Karoq Time. Advice please.
Before I bought my 2019 Karoq 4x4 2.0tdi SEL, I called Skoda customer services to ask for the spec, optional extras fitted and service history. The only question asked were whether I owned the vehicle or had paid a deposit on it. 😉 I then got all the info I needed.
