Right - had a new turbo, turns out my old was faulty since new. Paul - like the top lad he is - sorted me out by taking off my old map, and putting me a new PD130 map on, he advised me it was somewhat different to the last one, and my god was he not kidding!!!! Its awsome, some of you may not belive this, but that night i went out for a play (all on private roads ofcourse ) and I went to see how I compared against a Subaru Impreza Mk1, probably just a turbo 2000 or somthing, but it didnt shake me at all! I was more than happy....its fantastic! Paul really knows his stuff, all the time i was there i was being my usual annoying self asking lots of questions and Paul gave me an answer to everything. Top Lad - I would reccomend everyone go to RS Tuning! :: RS Tuning Ltd, The Performance Tuning Centre :: Also trying to get Paul on here...

I thought that at first, but they only chance certain parts dont they, surely it will be essentially the same......dont get me wrong its nice, but it reminds more of the VW fox instead of an audi......jus doesnt seem well put together, feels budgety, i went in a 1.2mpi fabia n the dashboard was pretty much the same as mine in the VRS.....

not that i noticed. Its poor display tbh - all crammed in centre of dials, radio is awful too - its just a huge like i dunno, looks bigger than a double din (looks like treble lol).

Yeh same problem which i forgot to mention - knee kept catchin for me too. And yes i think its the same cheap white plastic!

Hey guys anyone else driven the two to compare? I currently have a Mk1 VRS and its in the garage today over my turbo noise to make sure its nothing serious, while it is in they gave me a loan car, a 1.2 Fabia Mk2 in red. Iv been a bit eager to see how they compare and looked forward to being tempted into getting one............after gettin in the cab i was rather disappointed to say the least. The build quality and plastics dont seem to be to the same standard as the first one and although it looks bigger than the mk1 from the outside i think it feels smaller on the inside. It still drove pretty nice and obviously I wasnt comparing performance, as for the handleing I felt it was a bit too light and less driver involving, and the stalks I notice have been replaced for the same ones out of the Seats rather than those from the VW's. All in all i found it a bit of a let down, and just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?

when mine went on a RR for a remap - standard it turned out 138 bhp - now running 173bhp and 450NMish good figures m8

looks better on the older one IMO, not a fan of the new Fabs :(

I think remove the door strip as it slightly interferes with the design. but i do like the look of it.

I dont know where your based but Bickerton Skoda are the people who offer a full air con cleaning service and i think its about £35 ish, not sure.........but may be worth checked with them to have it cleaned.

Dunno - I read it on a flyer in a Skoda store, says it typically needs cleanin anually, or whenever you can smell damp and find the air con is not as effective.

I am also interested in this mod - looks the same as the ones on the Fabia WRC rally car - also has inner smoked lights - iv been tempted to just do the outer lights smoked but fear it may look utter ****! Let me know if u find owt out m8! cheers.

Dont know if ur aware, but especially at this time of year the air con systems can remain damp after use and build up bacteria on them, usually giving off fusty damp smell, so this may be contributing to the problem and also make sure you clean your windows inside atleast once a month - I use Carplan Wonder Windows, and its magic - no smear marks and it removes tough stuff! Just a different angle again........ Hope it helps, Danny

EGR? I had that off aaaaaaages ago to clean it out..... *runs off to check EGR* ....cant see anything.

mines been around 29 ish lately lol so dont worry but i do give mine a bit of stick - especially since my remap. but saying that i was also getting 50mpg the other day on a long trip - driving steadily.

does sound a bit metallic like - whats that mean? :confused:

I have no idea guys - i asked the guy at RS tuning when i was there he just said it was the turbo spooling - but it was just concerning me as its gettin louder, it especially makes more noise and feels less responsive after iv given it some beans......

Hi guys had my car remapped a few weeks since.....before I did I used to notice that when my turbo was spooling up it made a strange noise, its hard to describe, it sounds kinda like a vibrating whistling. Anyway after my remap and some hard driving I am starting to notice this is gettin louder and doing it over more of the revvs, anyone any ideas what this is as its starting to concern me a little? IMO i think the PD170 would go in and possibly the 1.8T. Now peeps are saying the PD170 wont go in as it would be faster then at Octy, but they put the PD130 in alot of cars previous, i.e Passat, A4, and Octy (not VRS) origionally and there were no issues with that. I mean the passat did not come with a sporty alterative anyway, but even if all this was irrelevant and they wouldn't put the PD170 in, why not put the PD160 in out of the Ibiza Cupra? PD140 is hardly a gain for a top model Skoda. As i said though, only my opinion.

best looking new fabia concept pic iv seen, but i dont understand why everyone likes them. Altho must say i dint think it had that kind of potential.
