Is this true?
Thanks for the replies. Noted. By the way, what I meant was that I take my car in PL to the UK once a year and perhaps in the future I will get the DSG oil changed. But not now. I didn't mean that I'd get the DSG oil changed once a year - now that is overkill!!

Is this true?
Hi everyone, I haven't posted on Briskoda for a few years, but this time, I had to. Just taken my Fabia 3 (2022 model year estate for a service. It's now three years' old, I bought it new in April 2022. It's a TSI 1.0 95bhp with the DSG box. I'm pretty sure it's one of the last made of this type. I think month of production is December 2021. I took my car in for a service today. It's exactly three years' old, and I want the oil and filter changed every year. I asked the guy, about 20 minutes ago about the following: "By the way, after four years, the oil in the DSG box needs replacing, right?" "No." "When, then? After five years, six, after a certain mileage?" "No, never." "What?" "You don't need to change the oil in a DSG gearbox for this car." I didn't want to argue with him, even though I can speak Polish fluently. This is the Skoda dealer in Wroclaw (one of them, anyway). I would love some feedback on this. Is he right? Surely you have to change the DSG gearbox oil at some point? I'm inclined to ignore him completely and get someone in the UK to do it whenever I visit, i.e. once a year. Thoughts, please. Steve.

SERVICE SCHEDULE
Hello all, I've been off Briskoda for a year or two. But I still have my Fabia. It's an estate 1.0 TSI (95), with the DSG box. I bought it new in April 2022 and it's a 2021 model year. I've done 25000 miles in the three years I've had it. I guess it's unnecessary but I have had the oil and filter changed in 2023, 2024 and will do the same in 2025. The dealer where I live (Poland) says the oil will happily last 24 months, but I'm old-school, I have trust issues, unfortunately. Will I need the brake fluid changed at 3 years? Next year, I'm pretty sure that the DSG oil will need to be changed. Is that right? Wishing you safe motoring!

Brand-new car won't start
Thanks for getting in touch. Racking my brains. Wonder if it is starter motor. All lights work. Battery is ok. Why the brake pedal solid? Hmm. That worries me.

Brand-new car won't start
Hi everyone, Bought a Fabia estate DSG 2 weeks ago. 400 miles on the clock. Has kessy. Press once to turn on ignition. That works. Press again to start. Nope. Brake pedal hard as a rock. Am sitting in the car waiting for skoda assistance to sort it out. How they will move the car whilst stuck in park is a good one. Any suggestions? It's been a week since i last drove it i think. Very disappointing.

The die is cast, hope I made the right decision...
Hi everyone, As a Brit abroad, I will pick up my new car this week. It's my 3rd Skoda. My first one was a 2012 Octavia TDi, 2.0 with 108bhp Then a 2018 Citigo 5-door with 59 bhp. Both great cars. I almost bought a new Fabia Mk.4, but here in Poland they are so expensive. I know it's bigger, quieter and more comfortable. But I can't afford one. So I chose a Mk3 Fabia. The estate is still being made, so I ordered an estate with the 95bhp TSI engine, mated to a DSG 7-speed. Never had an auto before, so I like trying something new. As a run-out model, it has everything; heated seats, heated washers, automatic aircon, rear camera, Bluetooth, Android auto etc and the 2-spoke leather multi-function steering wheel. That's enough for me. No LED lights, but you can't have everything. Compared to the Citigo it should be a bit faster and a bit better on the motorway. Safe motoring:)

To DSG or not DSG, that is the question
Hi everyone, It's about 6 years since I last wrote on this website. I have had 2 Skodas, an Octavia II 2.0 tdi from 2012 (6-speed manual), and now I have a 2018 Citigo, 60bhp 5-door in white. Quite a change. I love the Citigo. But after 3 years I have paid for it and want something a bit more luxurious and faster. So Fabia time. Thing is, I really fancy a DSG. Are they reliable? I will be half city driving, half open road. Just want something nice. Probably will be my last car. Well, petrol car anyway. I was in the dealer today, tried to get me to add all these bells and whistles but I said 'no' about 30 times until he gave up. I just want a Style version with the DSG transmission. I have never owned an automatic before. I tried to buy a Fabia III estate with the DSG but there are not any for sale where I live (I live on the continent). So it's a Fabia Mk.4. Does anyone here really praise the manual , too? The manual on my other Skodas was / is fine. Yours, Steve

Fabia DSG 95bhp
Hello everyone, I'd like to buy a run-out Fabia Mk 3 before the new model arrives, so hopefully I can nab a 2021 model with a few extra toys towards the end of the summer. I fancy a 7-speed DSG box this time mated to the 95 bhp engine. Could you tell me how it is compared to the manual 5-speed, and what revs is it doing at 70 and 80 mph? Thanks for your help, Steve
