  1. I installed a Amundsen+ unit into my 2010 Fabia facelift, GPS module sits behind the top dash glove compartment, takes about 30mins to do. Simple jobby I had someone on the forum who lives local to me activate Navigation on the maxidot, really easy to follow.
  2. put the switch to 0 and then push into the dash and turn clockwise so the lever is inbetween 0 and sidelights. That should release the switch.
  3. After using the kit for a couple of days I can say the kit is fairly responsive, I cant seem to set it up to turn my sidelights on when the suns slowly fading away but the headlights come on when its dusk and the coming home / leaving lights are great as I work in a rural pub so its great to have the headlights illuminate the road I am parked on.
  4. I'm just sticking with the VW switch for now as it's not too bad, way too expensive to get the yeti switch just for green lights... works well for the money though, can't go wrong for the price!
  5. hutchysrs50hutchysrs50 where did you get the yeti swtich from and how much did it cost? I cant find any for less than £45/50 on ebay...
  6. The yeti switch seems to cost more than the actual kit itself! The rapid one locks into place slanted but not sure.
  7. I put the sensor to the bottom right of the dash, it's hardly noticeable as I tucked the cable into the trim panel gaps. The sensor is very small, about the size of the end of a pen. I will take a picture in the morning to show it exactly!
  8. Headlight kit arrived today! Came pretty quick I thought considering I ordered from China. The kit came with a trim removal tool (nice quality too) which is nice, the kit was very easy to install into the fabia and after 10-15 mins of messing around with the settings come / leave home lights are working. Now I need to get a Skoda Yeti light switch to replace the red VW one, but for now it will do... I don't tend to look at the light switch while driving anyway.
  9. It's a simple ish job. Open the bonnet and use a 10mm socket bit (might be wrong) to push out the clips and that will release the front grill bit.
  10. I had fog lights and to remove the fog light I have to remove the edge of the main lower grill and then you can unclip the fog light that way. Maybe you need to do that to remove the foglight grill patch. Look In your car manual for how to change fog light bulb and it will show you how to remove the trim.
  11. Sounds like a shot battery to me! My mums car alarm kept going off when her battery was coming to the end if it's life. Also when you press a button on your key fob a small red light in the top right of the remote will blink, check that to make sure that your key fob is also working.
  12. Depends what's cheaper, both the swing and dance are the basic radio units for the fabia. If you stick to Skoda radios it will be a simple swap with plug and play. If you don't want anything special then just replace the radio with a dance or swing, just make sure you get a radio code.
  13. I have an RNS310 (Amundsmen) and bt module 5KO 035 730 D and phone function works fine and I can play bt songs but I would like to be able to see track names and also skip the song with the head unit instead of touching my phone while driving... would the kit you mentioned above be better for me to get these features? thanks.
  14. I ordered the kit and looking at getting a Yeti switch as I have heard that fits the best in the fabia. I don't have HID installed so not a problem for that and I got the auto switch because where I live there are quite a few tunnels that I go through and I am lazy to turn the lights on. Plus I am a sucker for a kitted out car!! Sad I know.
  15. Yes, didn't think of that! Would need to replace the auto light switch to a skoda one but use the auto headlight box that comes with the kit.
  16. Hello, I've seen a user install auto headlights into his fabia with parts from a yeti but I cant seem to figure out where he got the parts from. While I was searching I came across this on ebay which is for a MK4 golf but has the same connector as my fabia light switch. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Headlight-Head-Light-Sensor-Switch-for-VW-Bora-Golf-4-Lavida-Passat-B5/121947033090?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40860%26meid%3Dcf10f51666384bc199e1eaae1c0d2cb9%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D332086218209 what do you guys think? for £36 its a good deal... if it works! James,
  17. 5KO 035 730D is the module I have in my fabia with the swing radio which looks identical to yours even though it doesn't say swing, you will need a wiring loom that connects the BT module in between the radio and the male quadlock coming out of the car. The wiring loom includes a mic which gets mounted into a factory slot by the interior light. Because you dont have maxidot it makes it easier as you wont need VCDS to activate phone (only needed for maxidot) as soon as I had the module plugged in my iphone saw the BT module and I was able to call people and people where able to call me. The only thing you wont be able to do it call and answer phone calls without touching the phone... as you need maxidot for that.
  18. Because I am a student and not got the healthiest bank balance plus my current wheel is the same as the 09 superb but without controls meaning I can use my current airbag in the new wheel (if I am wrong let me know) the control wheels are leather which is the same as my current stock wheel.
  19. Where are they peanuts, cant find a loom anywhere and how hard is it to replace the wheel? is it a do it in the driveway job or a dealer job?
  20. My slow and long project of turning my fabia elegence into a monte carlo.
  21. How much are looms... on a budget as just got myself a RNS315...
  22. Hi, just wondering if the multi function wheel from a 2009 superb (4 spoke wheel old style 3T0419091C) would fit my Fabia 2 Elegance facelift and would the controls on the wheel work correctly with the maxidot and radio or do I need a loom and retro fit it? James.
  23. The VW 5KO 035 730 D supports Swing - RNS310 RNS 315 and I believe the RNS510. Thats the model I have fitted to my Fabia Elegence (facelift) I god hope my Amundsmen+ works! (in the post atm)
