  1. I have taken off everything I think I might be able to sell. The car is going for scrap soon and all oarts are going cheap, make me offers on bits and you might just be surprised! If there is anything you want ask soon because if I haven't removed it then it will be going to the scrsooy on the car.
  2. What do you mean by don't fit? As in bolts don't like up? Poke out of arches?
  3. Somehow missed your post sorry, just sent you a message.
  4. One side stayed still for me the other span so I put mole grips on the end. When it came to refitting the bolt I held it with mole grips again no problems.
  5. I would say that's from over tightening, if done to the correct torque setting and the sump plug replaced then no problem in my eyes. I work on Rolls Royce and Bentleys and the newer VW stuff (continental GT, Azure etc) with aluminium sumps we change the plug and torque them up with some ptfe fluid on the threads. Only ever has one stripped and it came in that way.
  6. Or use a 19mm spanner and drain it out of the sump, job jobbed.
  7. It would be a tiny van, better of doing it to an estate.
  8. I wouldn't touch budget tyres ever! The only thing keeping you on the road is your tyres. I have found Bridgestone to be the best for me and so I never fit anything else. I have Bridgestone Turanza T001 Evo tyres on my VRS and have fitted them to my Volvo too. Price for the weird fabia size 205/45 R16 was about £350 fitted for four. Price for the Volvo 205/65 R16 £248 fitted. They are a performance summer tyre with an A wet grip rating and I feel barely any difference in handling wet or dry. They even gripped well on the snow we had in Winter. Is yours a VRS or 14" wheel model? I have a set of Yokohama 14" winter tyres available with about 3-4mm tread left on them if you are interested. They have come off my wife's fabia I'm breaking.
  9. Pads should come with sensor cable attached to two in the box as it will share pads with another car. Don't think mk1 Fabia has the warning in which case you just chop the cable off.
  10. I think I may have the back half still, will have a look.
  11. Next weekend I will be removing all of the suspension and doors then scrapping the shell. Hubs - £30 each Rear beam £30 4 x 14" steel wheels with 4x Yokohama winter tyres (about 3mm tread left) £40 Hub caps £10 for all 4 Subframe £25 2 x Front control arms with recent console bushes £20 each can supply meyle heavy duty. Complete steering rack £30 Will list other bits when I have it all off.
  12. I used bp ultimate/Texaco supreme the last four months in my VRS. I didn't think it would do anything but after a few fill ups I noticed it produced pretty much no soot whatsoever when I put my foot down, engine seemed to run smoother and I gained a few mpg on the daily commute to work, used to get 46/47 and saw 50mpg regularly after running on it for a while. It probably wasn't cost effective but I carried on using it as I liked what I was seeing.
  13. Anyone know if it is the same as a 1.4 MPI one? If so I have one available.
  14. Yeah they are fine, easy to install.
  15. A/C was inoperative, had it regressed and apparently the pump was up the spout and never got around to looking in to it. Want to take a punt on it? £7.50 delivered.
  16. I am breaking a 1.4mpi fabia and can see what the part number is on that one tomorrow.
  17. Front bumper and front arch liners sold. Front passenger door rear handle trim sold.
  18. Have you had it code read? Why not do that rather than chucking money at it for common faults and hoping one of them fixes it?
  19. I have a steering rack still available from the 2001 1.4 MPI fabia I'm breaking. If it is leak free you can have it for £35 plus postage.
  20. Always done mine to 120nm as instructed by Mr Haynes
  21. Would anyone be interested in buying an estate shell 2001 Y reg for the front windscreen or panel cuts? It will be completely stripped missing all suspension components engine and all the interior gone with no doors so literally a bare shell. If it comes with anything on it count it as extras for free. I would only want £20 for it, will be available in a month or so from Worcester. Colour is highland green.
  22. Bump, these are stupidly cheap considering there is a single wheel on ebay for £120 at the moment!
  23. 4 x Door cards Rear window winders Front electric window setup All central locking gubbins Both electric mirrors All seats and headrests 1 x sunblind clip 4 x Door loom rubbers Window switches Both electric window switch panels All sold
