  1. Dealer has just updated me, bang on time as promised. Still at BW18 (status 10), so if it doesn't change it'll be built in 6 weeks' time. I was never under any illusion that it would be any quicker than that (changing to black leather sped things up), as my dealer is really good at keeping me informed. I feel the pain of those of you who are faced with a radio silence from your dealers and poor information from Skoda. My sales guy has a reminder in his calendar to check orders and report back to customers every two weeks. It's not rocket science and I can't understand why not all dealers do it. 2. This is sounding quite promising, all these folk with build weeks moving forward. My dealer should be updating me tomorrow - let's hope mine's doing the same! Two weeks ago I was BW18 (ordered 26 Jan). Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  3. I guess it depends on people's mindsets when they use ACC. Sensible drivers will take the opportunity to be more alert to road conditions and potential hazards without having to worry so much about regulating speed. But there will be some idiots who will take the opportunity to check emails, texts etc whilst assuming the car will look after the driving. Those are the people we need to worry about! 4. Well you learn something every day - just checked my i40 and the rear vents are set to the passenger temperature. I guess it makes little difference if there is a front seat passenger or not, because when the dual mode is switched off, the entire car is governed by the driver's preference. I had an 07 Civic with dual zone climate control, but that didn't have any rear air vents. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  5. You're right there. My dealer promised to keep me updated every two weeks on the status of my order and so far they have kept to their word. When I changed my order to black leather I called them to make sure the change had gone through and the guy I spoke to was able to directly look at the order to make sure it had. So if I want an update outside the two-week schedule I'll call the dealer rather than SUK. I think Skoda should indeed come down quite heavily on those dealers that don't communicate with their customers, as it does take up their CS reps' time answering questions that the dealers should be able to handle. 6. I would assume it's set to the driver's temperature. I have the same in my i40; rear air vents that the rear passengers can open and close, but no temperature control. It's more likely to be set to the driver's temperature because if there is no front seat passenger, it would be more difficult for the driver to regulate if it was set to the passenger temp. 7. My 10p's worth on this thread: 1. 1982 Ford Fiesta mk1 which was my mum's runabout which I used after I passed my test in 1993. It had a 957cc engine and I worked it hard. Clouds of smoke would blow out of the exhaust when I started it up ☺ 2. 1986 Ford Granada that belonged to my parents. A comfortable car but old and a little unreliable. 3. 1987 Peugeot 309 - the first car I actually owned. It broke down on average every 1000 miles. When the head gasket and starter motor went at the same time I decided enough was enough and it had to go! 4. 1992 Ford Fiesta mk3. It had a 1.4 litre engine which was surprisingly nippy and surprised a few people who assumed Fiesta = overtake! 5. 1997 Nissan Primera. Rock solid that car. It never let me down. 6. 2002 Honda Civic SE Executive. The first car that made me realise gadgets in cars were good! 7. 2007 Honda Civic ES. First car I bought new. I loved that car. Bulletproof reliability and amazingly quick. I only got rid of it when I started doing mobile discos and needed something bigger to lug my kit around in. 8. 2012 Hyundai i40 Premium. A nice, quiet cruiser, just lacks a bit of 'je ne sais quoi.' 9. 2016 Skoda Superb L&K. To come... Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  8. That's the dealer cashing in, nothing more. That's a second hand car at a brand new price. Seeing as you don't pay VAT on used cars, that's the dealer pocketing the difference! Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  9. Snap - I have 2 girls exactly the same ages. So it's black leather for me [emoji5] Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  10. You can have rear sensors as standard or front and rear sensors for £350. In other words, front sensors only is not available. You're not paying twice, it's just how it's worded. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  11. I think our cars are going to end up being built at the same time Jim ☺ Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  12. Latest update from my dealer suggests that my build date has been brought forward 7 weeks. It was at BW25 and now it's 18. So Skoda may be getting their act together. I think changing to black leather (which I prefer) has had a big bearing on it though. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  13. Next to the diesel filler. When I get mine I will just wait until the warning comes up and either fill up from a pump or a 10L bottle.
  14. I bought my current i40 from under the salesman's nose (he was using it as 'his' car) as a demonstrator. It was 3 months old and had 2.5k miles on the clock.
  15. Just checked the manual and it mentions that the radar sensor can get covered in snow and ACC can't operate - that must have been what happened ☺ Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  16. AFAIK the ACC doesn't use the camera, it uses radar. That can indeed get covered by snow but are you sure it wasn't lane assist that deactivated because of no camera view? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  17. This week is actually Skoda week 9. Week 1 in Skoda land didn't start until the 4th January, so if you have a BW10 it will be built next week. At least that's what my dealer told me ☺Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  18. Generally speaking I think you need to buy the policy within 180 days of purchasing the vehicle. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  19. I think people wouldn't mind so much if, firstly, everyone was getting the same wait time. If we all had, say, 12-14 weeks, and that was kept to, no-one would have a problem with that. But there is a wild variation on how long people are having to wait. Some people who ordered in September still haven't got their car yet, yet someone who ordered in January has already got a confirmed build date. Gives the impression of pushing in the queue (obviously it's not the case as it's beyond the customer's control!) Secondly, when build dates get pushed back, that's frustrating too. You're gearing up for a brand new car in April and then you're told you won't get it until June. It's all about managing expectations, and unfortunately, it appears that Skoda aren't doing such a good job in that area at the moment. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  20. You lucky thing! I ordered my 190 L&K with similar spec and extras four days later and am currently sitting at week 20! It was slipping towards 30 until I changed from brown leather to black, which brought it forward ten weeks! Something strange is going on somewhere. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  21. +1. If you're there in person, they can't hide behind a receptionist/voicemail etc. Don't be afraid to make a scene if you have to. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  22. I just gave my dealer a call to make sure my order had been successfully changed from brown leather to black leather. They said it had, and provisionally it had brought the build week forward ten weeks! [emoji50] [emoji50] [emoji50] I started to get excited because my last update from the dealer said that my brown leather order was set for week 21, so forward 10 weeks would have meant the w/c 14th March. But then the guy said that it had been slipping back towards week 30, and I'm currently sitting at week 20, so still May. So the wait goes on, but not as long as it could have been!
  23. New Car Discount. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  24. Mine, Wings of Peterborough, have been good so far, having been in touch by email every two weeks to keep me updated. Early doors though - I have just asked them to change my order from brown leather to black, will be interesting to see how they handle that. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  25. Asked my dealer today to change my order from brown leather with beige headlining, to black leather. A bit of a gamble on whether that will change the lead time (currently week 21) but given the supply challenges Skoda are facing, I'm hoping it won't make much difference!
