  1. @NikTheGeek give me your car details and I search the site for you - I need engine and if manual or DSG, FWD or 4x4
  2. Here we go - unfortunately it is in Finnish, but use Google translate to figure it out. Part numbers are pretty universal. https://www.defa.com/fi/autolampo/moottorinlammittimet/etsi-moottorinlammitin-autoosi/
  3. Yes, you can. Quite common here up North. Look for Defa engine heaters - I am typing from phone now, so I cannot immediately find the right link, but there is a part search site.
  4. Had this video to edit for quite a while (obviously...) but at last got down to doing during these holidays unfortunately I think that I somehow messed all the other stints, since there is either no driving footage or no telemetry. Either way, enjoy the first stint of the day on what was at the time a very, very slippery track.
  5. That does look like a Swing - are you sure it supports Android Auto?
  6. Just make a photo of the car unit and we can tell
  7. Just sideload it https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/android-auto-3-8-5845-release/ But you got MirrorLink and Android Auto on a Swing? I did not think that was possible. Are you sure you don't have a MIB2 Bolero?
  8. You can see them raise. I was in a Octavia vRS taxi with LEDs around town a couple of weeks ago and the lights seemed to aim quite low
  9. Of course you are allowed to hate the car - that's not my point ...I checked one of the older ones and I also had the impression the interior was inferior to the Octavia. As to dealership, I agree with you - I had 3 different ones plus a couple of specialized ones in town for the Skoda but I have one (!!!) for the Seat, who are also a VW dealer. ...have a guess where their priorities are? Also, they know there is no competition, so I had one guy literally tell me once "...well, where are you gonna take it then?"
  10. The Smart ones are inspired, but the Swift ones are a carbon copy. All proportions look the exact same as the Xtremes.
  11. On behalf of the Seat, I have to say that Pre-facelift Mk3 interiors are much different from the Facelift ones - they changed the materials from the hard touch plastics to the exact same soft touch you find in Octavia. In Cupra trim, they are even better, but don't just take my word for it - go check one in the flesh and give it an unbiased look. Same goes for the entertainment system - it is the exact same MIB2 unit as on the Octavia, so it won't have many more or less bugs. I think that if you compare a poverty spec Leon to a vRS Octavia you will of course find differences. Also, if you would compare a Facelift Mk3 Leon Cupra to a previous generation Octavia 1.0 you would walk away saying that the Octavia is crap. Peers to peers, apples to apples, but not potatoes to lemons ...cue in the triggered ones but seriously, even if secretly, go see one in the flesh and draw own conclusions. I have literally had my Cupra side by side in my garage with another member here and it went down to even bringing out the measuring tape during the comparison. Hurt you or not, they are not that different - Octavia is slightly bigger, interior layout is different, but materials are mostly the same.
  12. I first thought that was some kind of joke, but no... Wow. I know they are not everyone's cup of tea on the Octavia, but they look damn ugly on the Swift. Hopefully Swift won't sell much, so you won't see them out and about - if I still add my vRS with Xtremes I would now be looking already for a good wheel to replace them.
  13. LEDs on my Leon are different, but your described behaviour seems consistent with mine... Not sure you expect to dee them adjusting up and down all the time... These are situations mine adjust on: - When turning on, they go up, go down and then return up to correct level (this is based on car current load, as determined by rear suspension sensor and the height will remain until engine is shut off) - When flicking long lights on and off, they will raise and lower accordingly - if your car has that function configured and they are enabled on the in car menus, it will have motorway assistance, which means that around 100/120kph the lights raise slightly in order to cover more ground, but this is NOT the same as long lights. The other modes you describe seem to be related to the AFS Xenon lights - the ones in my Octavia did that, but with LEDs they really don't, and I have confirmed in OBDeleven these modes are disabled. I told the seller when I traded in the Octavia that I would miss my AFS and he told me I wouldn't, since the LED lights have a much wider pattern - he was right. For instance, city mode was when the passenger side light would aim more to the side to light the side of the road and rain mode when it would aim lights more down to avoid glare. Ultimate question should be: Are you happy with your LED lights or do you have any situation where you feel they don't light the road enough?
  14. I tried to hack together a map matching the previous version and unfortunately did not succeed... I have on my card all the maps - needed to leave out a couple I will really never use - but it only took the configuration for the last package I pasted, so it doesn't know the other maps are there and, I suspect it won't access them. This is an idiotic move by VW that affects all cars from the group...
  15. I had AFS Xenon on the Octavia and was bummed to lose them going into the Leon LEDs, but the seller said to me "Why you think you would need that? The spread on the LEDs is much wider!" To be honest, I haven't missed it. Not sure about the LEDs on the Octavia, but I assume they will be the same.
  16. What device are you using it with? I think your limitation might be that resolution, since AA works just fine in my car and my girlfriend's car... And with quite nice resolution too. Maybe try to enable developer menu in the AA app (you do this on the phone and while unplugged from the car) and in the developer menu try to tick some of the boxes that have to do with output resolutions - there is an HD one, which might be what you are looking for
  17. My record is 54l in But glad to see I am not the only one that likes to play gas roulette
  18. This is the video that sold me mine: The test drive after sealed the deal. DO NOT test drive one of these if you are not willing to buy
  19. Also to address this statement - I did not drive an old car... I drove an F30 340i, brand new at a BMW xDrive event. The car was a 2016 model... You seem to not be able to accept any other opinions than your own. If you want to choose a less arrogant style of communication, we can have a discussion (and even different opinions, which opens dialogue).
  20. I find it interesting that going back on this thread, almost every single one of your comments is edited ...why might that be? I think you are just trolling, so I will stop feeding you. But hey, you forgot to edit this one:
  21. @teescom09 you keep going on about the position of the engine and neglect to mention that exactly due to the position of it, the center console on BMWs is HUGE. It is so wide that it actually offsets the pedals, meaning that the gas pedal is almost centered and in order to tap the brake, you need to cross your leg from the right to the left - as I type this, I realize that on a RHD car this problem might not be so obvious, but on a LHD car it is a real problem. I honestly don't like the driving position on the 3-series (granted, once again, that I did not drive the current generation car - only the previous). But hail variety - if we all liked the same the world would be a boring place.
  22. Never heard anyone call a 3-series "big and roomy" ...ok, the one I drove was a couple of years ago and might that the new generation is bigger than the previous.
  23. I test drove a 428 and a 345 (which was a beast), both xDrive. They were fine cars, but ... worth all that what they ask for them? Ich don't think so.
