LOL - I saw your reply to 'Matt' on DW. I have a couple of interested parties in mine and not had time to list it yet!

Free bump for this
-
Will do.

Simple one really. Clean with very mild car shampoo solution and completely dry off. Buy some wheel sealant such as poorboys wheel sealant, chemical guy's wheel guard or similar and apply a thin coating. Buff off when dry. There are lots of alternatives. Wheels will be easily cleaned with same mild shampoo solution in the future.

Pretty sure that mine will come in at around £4750. Not done research yet though. Remapped by shark, loads of receipts etc.

Of course. Best research site around for the brand.

LOL - And you're on here too as well as detailing world. Mine will be on here too soon.

Well done on the sale. I had a mate interested in this but as you sold it doesn't matter. Good luck at uni. -

Sorry, I missed your post. Yes flies on it all the time over summer. Definitely a colour thing... -

Yellow is a great colour - I love mine as it is so incredible when detailed and forgiving when dirty. -

Has the car had any paint at all, accident damage etc? Could be interested. -
First Service costs on Variable Servicing
Tricky Red replied to ChrisRs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I was quoted approximately £55.00 for plugs and £50.00 for diverter valve + hours labour and VAT and it's pretty much £200. I was more than happy with that. Fitted by a quality indie too. -
First Service costs on Variable Servicing
Tricky Red replied to ChrisRs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Just for reference I recently had 80,000 service with new oil (Longlife) air filter, oil filter, pollen filter, spark plugs and new diverter valve for just over £300 and that was by a well respected independant. Shows just how 'over a barrel' the dealers have you really. And if truth be told, you're probably all doing it for the Skoda stamp. I know that I have done in the past. -
Great honest post - thanks for that. For anyone that comments on Citroens or Peugeots, they will undoubtably have much better paint than VAG cars. VAG cars are not the pinnacle of reliability, you only have to scan the JD Power surveys for that. Skoda are better than the others though.

Correct, Tony knows his stuff.

For anyone saying take the wheel off and put it on straight, that fixes the problem but not the underlying cause. The issue will be that the fitter has been lazy and only adjusted one track rod end. The front alignment will be correct, but does probably not align to the rear of the car. The thrust angle will be incorrect. Any decent place that can adjust 'geometry' not tracking will be able to rectify this very easily and your steering as a result should be corrected.

Is is a security torx fitting with the little nipple inside the star shape?? I had the same issue with my sky box and had to buy a new tool to remove them.

Yeah on the inside just looks like he's left blue tinted strippable film on the plastic bits -
£100 voucher - What to use it on?

You should also get a second curry hook for the boot area. -
Unfortunately it is traceable, as even reverting to a map that is equivalent to the stock tune from the factory will create a checksum calculation on the ECU.

Replace at 60k or 4 years whichever comes soonest was what I was told on my VRS. If it breaks, the costs involved far outweigh the cost of replacing it. Change the waterpump too and you should be looking about £350 from an indie.
