  1. Hi folks. Was doing a check on the engine bay today and spotted a bit of oil around the plastic rocker cover. I cleaned the area as best as I could and took it for a spin and it tools like there might be a trace from this bolt area. I don't think it's pcv related as it wasn't mist but actual oil. I don't know when this started I didn't notice much oil missing from the dipstick. Is this something common? I won't pull the trigger yet on the repairs as I want to be sure what I need to buy. Looks very expensive to me as it involves pulling injectors out if it's a rocker gasket issue.
  2. I did what Wino suggested, applied the hadbrake just until it caught. One side was a bit weaker than the other. Gave it a good clean, retighened the handbrake and on the first click of the hadbrake they both seem very grippy. However one of the cylinders has leaked once and compromised the grip under pedal braking. Bought the new shebang kit again including new drums. Back on the road.
  3. I never said I din't look inside for 3.5 years. That's how old the kit is. In April this year I did changed the brake fluid on this car. I took the rear drums off and sprayed them with brake cleaner and made sure they were ok. The thing is, this garage failed my Roomster for both rear coils snapped/fractured and a ball joint with a damaged sleave. None of that stuff was true. They asked £700 to fix it but I declined and found out after there was nothing wrong with the coils and ball joints. Albeit the dog did chew the sealtbealt in the back.
  4. no one is moaning 😄
  5. Is there a way to clean them then test them myself?
  6. I have replaced those too 100%. Everything was out becasue I had to do a brake bleeding kit
  7. Found the order. I bought everything in one go. Shoes, hydraulic pistons etc. 2018
  8. Hi everyone can you please educate me on what does the last two points mean? Headlamp - yes I know, bye bye HIDs Parking break efficiency - my handbreak works fine and i don't notice anything different. I don't have to lift it that much when parked. Drum breaks - neither of them are sticking. What sort of test do they do? They have been replaced 50k miles ago. thanks
  9. I think I found some on eBay
  10. Stupid request. Can someone paste a link for a pair of front indicator light bulbs for a roomster/Fabia. 2007. I went to Halfords and picked some off the shelf like I do and realised the bulb holder has these special offset, to make your life difficult, guides/legs/whatever they are called. In the roomster they are in a V configuration. Thanks
  11. wasn't that EGR a poor design anyway with it's issues? Removing something that is hard to access to then break again, surely you wouldconsider just replacing it?
  12. it's not what you think it is. EGR is not accessible without dropping the subframe. Worth replacing instead. But then you need to do an EGR adaptation.
  13. I have looked since that day trust me, my ebay allert was set up for breaking Roomsters and Polos etc. Wasn't easy finding one at a right price. You try and search for that part number and you'll see the availability or prices. Tnak you for your advice anyway, it was noted
  14. £65 and they included the regulator as well, which I didn't need but it came as one. I must have contacted 30 different salvage yards and only a handful had any left.
  15. ***UPDATE - SOLVED*** Probably I should close this topic saying that a new/used driver's window regulator from another almost like for like Roomster has solved the issue. Interesting fact is that these regulators were like gold dust. Been quoted used anywhere between £175 to £75 (postage included). Many thanks to @Winofor helping me out throught the process and suggesting the listing on eBay.
  16. The map will still use the software version VW installed with the fix. 994something whatever that version is. If you want that gone you need to reflash the ECU with the previous version, then map it
  17. What country is the part coming from? Also if it's the actual motor then it's the same regardless of passenger or driver, but if it's the unit attached to the motor then it's a different story
  18. I saw this late. The OBD2 port works now but have no clue why. I did remove and replaced most fuses as I was chasing another issue
  19. I'll take a clear picture of the passenger board. Yes there are differences I noticed. It doesn't look like at a first glance but there are. The early Roomster hasn't got the up/down down windows remote function. I checked with my fake vcds. But the 2013 Fabia does have that module/option which I can select.
  20. Autolock? One touch lock? Wiper tear?
  21. It stopped working as usual. Then I went ahead and unplugged this connector from the voltage control unit and plugged it back in. And it worked again. Don't know what is next. ECU?
  22. Unplugged fuse 51,52,11 didn't made any difference. Unplugged the door harness, no difference. Unplugged the module connector, no difference. Plugged the old broken module, then reconnected back to passenger. Worked instantly.
  23. Low and behold it still doesn't work this morning. I check for 1h yesterday and it was working every time all the time and was convinced the module was at fault. But not even the passenger module is cutting it. It works immediately if I plug and unpug the module.
