  1. Hi, YrianR Where are you from? Please try to write in english, so you may get more responses from the forum. On the other hand allows more people to participate and keep in order each topic. Escribir en español no es lo apropiado en este foro de origen ingles. I hope this link may help you with the electric diagram for your car. https://elektrotanya.com/skoda_felicia_1995-2001_wiring_diagram.pdf/download.html#dl By the way, don t forget to introduce your car here if it is a carburetor model.
  2. Hello Gentlemen. I guess most of our Felicias, after 2.5 decades have lost and show today less ilumination power. Thats normal and the headlamps were designed according to the tecnology of the 90s. In addition to keep low cost the H4 bulbs were chosen. And today to most of us it seems light beam is poor and we would desire to have better headlamps. So. I like that idea from the VW Polo for the old face. Two beams are beautiful and might work fine. But needs some work to do. On previous posts you talk also about bulbs. Its a difficult matter. Ricardo said: Tge poromise heaven... And i think it may become hell. Other important thing to consider is the regulation on each country, and of course your own responsibility yo use bulbs that wont cause glaring effect on other drivers. Correct light pattern is the key. In order to keep the car as original as possible, any recommendations on H4 bulbs to get better light without compromising or affecting the security of other drivers on the road?
  3. Ricardo and FeliciaHacker. thanks for that info. You are right, after 2 decades parts become hard to find and must be creative to fix and find upgrades. I will try to find that brandof base adapter here in Bogota. Otherwise internet will be the way.
  4. Hi Chaps. Happy hollydays and best wishes for this 2024! Ricardo, do youu still keep your Felicia? I ve read that the best way to keep a Pierburg carbutettor worfing is to check the sealing and vacuum on the base. Any further recommendations on this? Will it be the same for Jikov Carb?
  5. Hi Sirs, I was reading the complete tread. First of all i don't find useful that bonnet scoop. But in my case i made my own test with the inside grid of the cabin heater, putting the grid inside a piece of pantyhose. Yes, a pantyhose. Ask your Mom, Aunt, sister or a friend for an used one, This nylon elastic mesh acts quite well and depending on the stretching you can adjust that filtering net power. As a result it stopped all sizes of bugs, leaves and other types os debris. Driving in colombian streets and roads isn't too clean. Also, it is interesting to check the sealing between the inner bonnet intake and the blower box. It comes to my mind the idea of placing a kind of rubber band or belt upright all the way round the blower box grid and approach to fill the gap where Fylaktos did the sealing test with cardboard.
  6. Hi. This link may be useful too. https://7zap.com/en/catalog/cars/Skoda/brand/17/0
  7. Hi Eddie. After 15 years, what happenned to your fabia? Still running with you? Sold to another person and lost trace? Scrapped?
  8. Mike. I agree with you. absolutely! New cars are not as long lasting as 90s ones and older. Thanks, Ricardo for your advise. VIKA no way. Mi mechanic said that timing chain kit for Fabiaa 1.4 8v, also will work. Only need to take one sprocket to the lathe machine. After that it will fit perfect! I need mor info on this. If that is correct: Febi / SWAG are other brands i ve found.
  9. Mike. Hope you are doing fine with your health. Nice Felicia. I wish mine were as good looking as yours, after 25 years. This topic of related to the timing chain, is becoming a nightmare for surviving fellys. My mechanic says that new replacements have become less reliable and it is remarkably the ratling noise of the engine. The chain and sprockets wear too fast and timing may vary up to 15 degrees. That means poor combustion and of course annoying driving. My car iodometer s today on 230300Km and it is mandatory to change the timing chain kit. So, the question again is: Which is the best brand if the Original VAG cannot be found. Here in Colombia, you can find Vika (which is not recomended. I have found on onternet BUGIAD (German brand) but i dont know if it is China made, and JP Group without any further info. I gues the best must be made in Czech Republic. Chaps, What do you think?
  10. Hey guys. You can also log on to: https://7zap.com/en/catalog/cars/Skoda/brand/17/0/Felicia/Felicia (1995 - 2001)/Skoda/K2dWWlpjYWZJS29qOUh6dUU0SmZ2Zz09--/6bbffde8b5b8077d2d0a5796da6eea3c:54bd59cd284c8215e6ba4b7647246586/manufacturer This site offers the name of OE homologated parts when you search for the OEM reference. It is very usuful to check cross reference list.
  11. Hello folks. I ve just read that last post was mine almost a 9 months ago. Well, let s begin by the end. I did the retrofit of power steering to my 1996 1.3 Felicia (carburetor). Thanks to TeflonTom for all this deatailed infp posted. My car goes around 225K km and I don´t think it was a waste of money. Driving a car in a traffic conditions and streets such Bogota is very difficult and this gives you confort in a very discrete (reliable and lovely) car!! Ok. Few months ago i came across with a 1.6 Felicia that was parting out. I got all the power steering : Rack, Column, Steering wheel, Reservoir, Pump, hoses, tubes and etc. The 1.3 lier engine never came to Colombia with power steering , but according to some people some 1.3 with injection came with power steering. (not verifyied) . Work took about 1 week. 1. Dismounting the manual/mechanic steering system. 2. Installing the rack and column, reservoir and hoses. 3. The difficult part: IKeep the original pulleys of alternator, water pump and chrankshaft . Crankshaft pulley is not easy to change and difficult to get. So we decided not to use the original steering pump from the 1.6. Take into account that there is nt to much room to fit wider pulleys for the 1.3 engine. And changing pulleys are costly. The solution was to mount the pump from an Audi A4 (B5) or VW Passat. Part code is 7849701 or 8DO145155 made by ZF. This pump fitted perfectly bellow the alternator. Some modifications were made such a brcket to hold the pump and other minor components. As well a tensor for the belt. 4. Belt is V Shaped and runs smoothly. 5. To compensate the engine revs it is set close to 900rpm. Of couse the original old steering wheel does not fit. The one from the donor was mounted and requires plastic covers on the column from the 1.6 also.
  12. In Colombia you may found used Felicias around the same equivalent amount in Euro. Lets say 1500 up to 1800Euro. Yo can check colombian ads at www.olx.com.co or www.tucarro.com.co. 1 Euro es around Colombian peso $3500.
  13. Hi chaps, Usually when you get to this point, it is said that you may have more car than money. That means you won´t receive as much cash as your car might do for you. And the difference is even bigger when you have a well maintained and pampered car. As Ricardo said it depends on the buyer. Some people (a few)appreciate that care and history of the car. Obviously some markets were and are more receptive for some models, availability of parts and reliability... all that counts. What you must do is look for similar cars and compare them to yours. Try to mix the qualifying points such kilometers, number of owners, maintenance, general appearance and some equipment; after that surely you will get that base price.
  14. Totally agree. Maybe some adjustment is needed. But pictures may not look right due to phone camera. There is no offending streak or glaring effect on oncoming cars
