So here we are. The smell is still lingering a bit, binned the mats that camecame with the car as they looked horrendous. Since I done that the smell has almost disappeared. New mats I replaced them with were only 4 quid from Home Bargains, not too bad quality wise either

Hi gang, I currently can't afford alloys for my fabia so was going to get 15" steel wheels and get them painted. Anyone got any guides on how to paint them?

Cabin filter and a/c cleaner done

Won't matter how old it is, as long as it's been kept in decent condition. Saying that, you may be like me here and would be better taking it tona VAG specialist this time round just to get a proper look at it. It'll cost more bit worth it

Replaced cabin filter and also used a can of a/c cleaner. Will report back when my nose has sniffed it in 24 hours

No local indie garages near you with a good rep? My mate is a mechanic so I'll trust him to do the necessaries with the car. Although as this hasn't had what I would call a proper service for 8 years I may take it to a local VAG garage

Hello gang, only me...again. Question; how easy is it to check my timing belt for wear and tear. Got a lot of service history with the car but nothing that indicates that this has been done. The car has 124k miles on it and it's meant to have been done at 80k so I'm a bit anxious to get it checked and if needed get a new kit on.

As the title asks, what cars do the traffic police use in your area? Where I am they have at least 3 BMW estate cars, all 16 plates with blackout windows, fantastic looking car really. Also use Astra J again, blacked out and may also usa a Skoda Octavia/Superb again blacked out. The Skoda could just be a civvy though, they also don't wear the high vis stab vests either.

Take it to a garage and get a diagnodtic check done on it, or alternatively get an OBSII sensor and check your self. With the smoke that could be burning oil. Hopefully something simple.
