  1. I love my MFD, glad it has it but it’s personal preference really. I’m all for technology so auto lights/wipers and city safe were all things I wanted but “did not need” Citysafe has never been active while I’ve driven the car and I was getting warnings saying Citysafe not active for a while when I’d first received the car.

I have this on my PID its just stuck in a loop with the logo over and over, so its deffo the battery needs replacing..........can an expert confirm, before I launch the thing at the wall.........

Also can this unit be used in a VW UP cheers..... (as long as I dont launch it)

Yes it can be used in the SEAT MII, Citigo, VW UP.

I think it can also be used in some of the older Ibiza’s too

just gotta reset it via the Garmin fresh app on your computer

    Hi All.

In the 5 minutes my car was parked up while i went inside, put some laundry in, and left again my 67 plate Citigo developed a strange fault.

Whenever I have more than mild acceleration, my interior lights comes on.

My suspicion is that there's a loose wire somewhere. The door light doesn't illuminate on the instrument cluster, so I don't think its a door switch.

I tried reversing gently into a kerb, and that made the light come on as well, and it stayed on until I reversed backwards (bumping the car was a jolt forwards, needed to reverse to undo the jolt)

I also found the interior light was staying on when I close and lock the door, but the hazards don't flash which I thought they used to?

As it's still under warranty it'll be visiting the dealers, but I thought you'd all like to see this bazaar new feature.

    That’s a strange fault :D

Cheers for the advice SteveJP & Miller73. I guess it's just that some say you have to keep removing the PID when parking in case it gets stolen, however not sure if that would tempt a thief. Is the cradle on the Colour/Black edition big enough to take the "plus" size smart phones?

Yeah, I’ve the S8+ and it can fit perfectly in the cradle. The glitches seem to be affected more with android devices.

Cheers for that, Yeah, it seems like a much better radio and the PID unit has been dropped in lieu of the phone cradle. Some are saying the the PID wasn't as good as a smart phone in the cradle anyway

Depends what phone you have, the app has afew annoying glitches that I don’t think have been sorted after atleast 2 years of knowing about them.

You can however use the UP!  Version which, as far as I know, is glitch-free.

  6. Looking on auto trader it looks as though black edition was pre facelift whereas colour edition is post facelift.

The advantages / updates for the colour edition over the black edition are as followed:

    • LED DRLs
    • Colour radio Bluetooth integration
    • phone cradle

Can’t think of owt else atm that’s different

Can anyone tell me please if the USB port on the top of the dash ( behind the Phone holder ) is permanently live or is it on and off with the key ?

    Thanks

Pretty sure it’s on/off with key

From what I can tell according to the skoda car builder you can upgrade the dash display to the maxi dot display similar to the one in the fabia

Yeah that’s it, has afew different names. Like others have said though, if it’s just MPG / satnav and other driving data than no point in adding it as an extra. Only real advantage is a digital speedo but that’s not worth £230 alone :D

This has just happened to mine and typically about 2 months out of warranty.

If it's a known fault should a recall not have happened or am I being naive to expect this to be fixed free of charge.

My local dealership wanted £110 just to run diagnostics today so I told them not to bother.

    Any advice?

Go local, make sure they’re reliable though.

    Quoting from Citigo user manual:

The warning light  lights up when the brake fluid level is too low or there is a fault in the ABS.

if the warning light flashes  and an audible signal sounds three times, stop and
check the brake fluid level ⇒ .
    CAUTION
If the warning light  comes on when driving and in addition the warning light 
(cooling system fault) also comes on in display, you must then stop the car imme-
diately and switch the engine off - risk of engine damage!
If there is a fault in the ABS which also influences the function of the normal
brake system (e.g. distribution of brake pressure), the ABS warning light  comes
on together with the brake system warning light .

There are three beeps, but no warning light stays on. There is no other mention of sounding off three times in the manual.

Just out of curiosity, did you check all fluid levels? Just in case this was what the beeps were for?

So wait, there are the service indicator AND the inspection indicator?? They are separate?

Because I've already opened a discussion on this when I had just one ping:

    https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/450085-ping-when-starting-engine/

This time it's three beeps, but there is no INSP letters. Wrench light does not stay on. Also, keep in mind that I don't get this on every startup, only sometimes. It's definitely not a cold weather indicator, I've already seen those and the weather has been very mild here.

If it's indeed a service reminder, can I reset it somehow like I did the other one?

Is there any serious risk that this could be something more serious and I need to have a professional look into it?

On the Citigo’s with MFD they do, I can’t remember if the normal LED displays have both though. Look in your manual, it should ell you

First time happened a couple of weeks ago, when I turned the key three beeps sounded. The car works just fine, no warning light stays on. Doesn't happen on every startup, only occasionally. It's not a service warning, nor cold weather warning. Car has manual transmission.

I googled a bit, didn't find anything like this mentioned on a Citigo, only found mentions of this on Fabia, Rapid, Up!, some others. Mostly they were about checking liquids, all the important liquids in mine are fine, don't know about window washer levels. Some mentioned ABS, ugh...

I will take it to a service point in a couple of days for investigation, but let's see first if anyone has any idea about this.

To me it sounds like inspection or service buzzer OR cold weather.

I know when I took my Citigo in for a service they only reset the service indicator and not the inspection one.

I discover today that my 2015 5Dr Citigo SE is near to needing a couple of tyres, so I head over to Tyre Shopper online and punch my reg number in.....

Results show 2 possible configs, one for 14" and the other for 15", so I select 14" and it says I need 175/65/14s, all good so far...….I take another look at the car, and it is fitted with 165/70/14s. The wheels are steel. A bit of a google seems to tell me that the SE wasn't fitted with steel wheels and the 165/70/14 tyre size was only used on the base S model. I'm guessing that the originating dealer has possibly pulled a fast one and swapped the alloys off it!!!! As you can guess I'm less than impressed if this is the case!!!! So, my question to you gurus out there is....Was the SE ever sold with the steel wheels and the higher profile tyres before I go get somebody by the scruff of the throat and have "a word"?

    Many thanks in advance

  14. Don’t think front parking sensors are available? They weren’t when I last looked on Skoda’s website.

I’ve the rear sensors and they work fairly well, the middle sensor works at a greater range than the two side sensors but they still sense stuff (just when they’re closer to the car :D)
