  1. Filter oiled and back in:thumbup: Oiling it was interesting.. Following the instructions it tells you to recoat every 20 mins untill you get a even red colour on both sides. I was using the spray oil and was suprised at the number of coats it took to get the "clean" side to even change colour. But paranoia stopped me from going nuts. So after very careful blotting and letting it stand overnight it looked good thismorning. Need to get a spare to put in so I can still use the car when cleaning the K&N. Might get a Pipercross to try;) Has it made a difference...Yes. The crisp throttle responce is back and the willingness to rev is back so all good:) On a different note I have left my strut brace off (had to remove it to get the filter out) as I am trading the car in next week. I can realy feel a difference the steering is less reponcive and there is more vibration in the steering wheel. It is very easy to forget the difference these things make. Thanks for all the help and good advice Cheers G
  2. there has been alot of good comments about the bigger front brake set up but what about the back?? do you not get a front to rear brake imbalance causing a stability issue under some braking conditions? Is there a larger rear set up you can bolt on the rear to balance things out? or is it not needed?
  3. Well pulled my filter out this morning and OMG, have only done 20K miles on normal roads and look at it. So following the instructions I knocked the filter a few times to dislodge the crap I am suprised the bloody car would start with that much crap in the filter after a few washes with the K&N cleaning fluid (once was nowhere near enough) it looks a lot better:) just need to let it dry and give it a light oil. Have given the airbox a good clean as well. Never going to leave it as long again will check it every 10K from now on And Skoda only replace their filters every 40K:confused:
  4. was just a thought:O that there might be a benifit but obviously not:thumbdwn: . thanks for the input anyway Cheers:thumbup:
  5. Has anyone got any sensible suggestions on how the get the wieght down on my Fabia VRS without stripping it out? Want it to look normal so i want to keep the seats, carpets etc. ideas please
  6. Also keen to see what the plate holder looks like painted. To do with the side rubbing strips, I am thinking of having mine coded. My wifes A3 has colour coded rubbing strips and in 5 years have not been damaged. You can see when they have been touched by other cars but it just polishes of and there is no paint damage to the strip itself. dont want to take mine off (tho it looks good without) so painting them is the next best thing.
  7. My god man what are you doing with it????? are you doing stage rallies with it or is it modded past the natural laws of physics??? or is it just bad luck???
  8. 54 plate 32k still going strong 2 front tyres  (how dare they wear out) All 4 wheels replaced due to paint bubbling (done at service time) warranty N/S/F consol bush, I hadn't noticed any problems but again in for a service and they spotted it and replaced it - warranty The Aberdeen dealer has been great with me thats why I am getting a SE Perfect car and 100% reliable. Best car I have ever owned and I have oned 2 Honda's good cars but not the alround great fun package of the VRS
  9. Good info and I am keen to do this mod but is it possible to have the photos put back on or have them PM'ed to me so I can see what I am supposed to be cutting Cheers
  10. Hi I have a 54 plate VRS and had all 4 wheels replaced under warranty about 6 months ago due to the paint bubbling, one on the edge of the rim and 3 round the valves. As long as there is no kerb damage your dealer should change them. My dealer was great no arguments or funny questions/comments just "we will change them sorry about this"
  11. my wifes A3 1.9 tdi, same engine as the Fabia cost me
  12. hhhhhhmmmmm perhaps a black set as well or is that taking it to far:rolleyes:
  13. thanks for that will give it a clean and see how it goes:thumbup:
  14. I have just ordered a 500ml bottle to try in my wifes A3 130 tdi sport. We have had it from new and its done 70k miles of hard driving on the cheapest fuel we can find so I hope to notice a difference. A service, Better fuel, Millers Sport 4 and a new K&N panel filter should give the old girl a new lease of life:thumbup: (and I meen the car not the wife) Will let you all know
  15. Yes 17" will fit without any adjustments with either 205/40/17 or 215/40/17 tyres just check with them first as they are showing the OZ WRC as a 8 X 17 which might rub the arches personally I wouldn't fit any larger than a 7.5 X 17
  16. Well got the cleaning stuff and read the instructions. According to K&N I dont need to clean it yet as they recommend every 50K miles normal driving and my filter has only don about 20K. What sort of miles do other people leave there filter before cleaning???
  17. Try this web site. According to them you can Alloy Wheels - Specialist supplier of alloy wheels and tyres packages, 0% Finance and Fast Delivery Hope it helps
  18. The time has come for me to clean my K&N panel filter. I have read a number of threads and seem info that the filter oil can damage the air mass meter. The advice I am looking for is 1: has any one had a problem caused by oiling their filters? 2: how can any problems be avoided? 3: should I get a different type of filter? if so which one? thanks
  19. Not sure how the yellow would look against the blue:confused: .........
  20. Red leather in ther right car looks good. Alpha 156 for example dose a black car with red leather very sexy. perhaps the Fabia just isnt the right car to carry it off.
  21. Hi pedd I have been in and stroked your leather:D didnt sit in it as that wouldnt be fair but very nice indeed. I am 4th on there list cant wait.
  22. How much:eek: Nice leather tho must truly be a one off with a 1.8 tdi lump in it:D eBay.co.uk: skoda fabia vrs 1.8tdi (item 190102868680 end time 23-Apr-07 15:28:13 BST)
