  1. I'm sure that's got the "Biscuit" interior too.. Such an odd mod, those lights... Of course, there could be another explanation... Cheap tat lights cheaper then a single original, after a knock?
  2. I'm not sure... He did it as part of a wider diagnostics on my car after a turbo repair..
  3. I've seen prices of £80 - £150 on here over the years.. It tends to be done on the car, as it's bonded on. You could try polishing it back up? Although, I have a theory that polishing it up too many times is what causes the clear coat to fail... But if you're thinking of painting anyway, could get a few years out of polishing before taking the plunge.
  4. It does.... but only from the drivers master switch... the passenger side button doesn't have the 2nd clicks built in for one touch... It's a Skoda, not a VW .. I always found these little things interesting, as it's how the keep the costs down, I guess... The 520 is even weirder though, lol.. Auto down on all 4 windows, auto up only on drivers.. All switches in centre console, lol.
  5. .... The only definitive way is to go and see a mapper, like Shark, who have copies of all the OEM files, and can read your map out for comparison to your "Stock" file, by ECU number... This is how Ben confirmed my car wasn't mapped!..
  6. I think one's for engine cooling, and the other for air con rad?? Not sure, though.
  7. On the Skoda dealer fit kit I bought once... It said to install the bleeper in/on the trim the goes across the back of the roof, above the rear head rests.. It also came with the wiring too hook into the reverse light circuit...
  8. Yes, do the pump... but just to put that cat amongst the pigeons.. I got 87k out of my 1st pump.. And, to REALLY highlight it... BMW water pumps, with plastic impellers, have exactly the same reputation for failure... However, on the 94' car I just bought, the pump bearing had a lot of play so it was replaced... when it was removed, it turned out to be the original plastic pump, the impeller had out lasted the bearing!... There's 205k on that car! Has anyone actually had the plastic impeller fail on a vRS, seen it, 1st hand?? ...
  9. I never actually stopped my fronts leaking.. reduced the amount of water, yes.. but never stopped... One of the things I'm most enjoying about the Fabia's replacement is it's apparent water tightness.. I found that the fronts would leak torrents from after market speaker adapters, and indeed from around the lip of after market speakers.. The carriers also leak like the rears... plus, once I bunged the drain holes and filled the door with a hose... The three little screw holes / wall plug style clips at the bottom can rupture from over tightening allowing water through them. Cheap from the dealer. Make sure all your clips around the edge are the newer style with the bigger washers.. I did all of this and got the car to a point where it wouldn't leak on the level, or with drivers door to kerb.. but if parked with passenger door to kerb would leak.
  10. SOLD. Fabia mk1 Facelift Rear lights. One of very few external cues, on a vRS, of it's early production date are the back lights. Plus, these look nicer and a little more modern.. Also show up the fried egg indicators a lot less. Already listed them else where, but thought I'd try and get them more attention.. Good condition, Would like to sell as a pair. £40 exc. P&P. Taa, Rob.
  11. Sorry.. Been at work, then mechanics, then folks.. On phone browser and, if I'm honest, in bed... Full replies tomorrow with full pics.. Been a hectic day.
  12. Will get replies out to everyone tomorrow.
  13. Stretch to 7? http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/skoda-fabia-vrs-19-turbo-diesel-special-edition/1017547164
  14. All the Blue SE's had leather... just find an SE with 50k, sorted!
  15. Was looking for £40 on the rear light, Ant.. Haynes? Um.. tenner?
  16. Aye up.. 1st of all, I'd like them collecting... hope that's ok? I'm thinking, £40. One of them has the paint chemically stripped from the lip/rim as I intended to polish the lips... It is possible, but time consuming and I got bored.. Bit of black hammerite would restore it for use..
  17. I hate that vent.. the others are always fine.. For some reason, the clips + dash seem slightly mis aligned (possibly on one of skodas dash moulds).. As a result, even when being carful it's quite easy to get the clips hooked up on the back side of the hole.. Perseverance and many wide flat utensils I'm afraid.. Dinner knifes and store cards
  18. Well, the Fabia's gone.. I took a few bits off before it left, though.. Pics and prices to follow.. but PM me an offer if you see something you like before I get to that.. I'm in Nottingham. I Have... Sold - Rear cup holder (replaces the little cubby at the back of the console).. in black. Sold - Face lift rear lights. Would like to sell as pair if possible. Sold - Air Vents and gear stick surround, all painted silver to match the dials, pedals and knob top.. rattle can, but half decent finish. Sold - 4 steel wheels, 16" 5x100.. No tyres, one has very slight lip bend. I never used them but was assured they all balanced true. Sold - Haynes Manual Prov Sold - Single Din OEM trim piece Edit* Realised I already had a pic of the vents etc online... They look quite bright in the photo, but are silver, honest! in a matt finish. Taa..
  19. You can move the cluster around a bit.. the holes it bolts through are about 1-2mm bigger then the threads coming off the cluster... loosen all 4 nuts and move about, then tighten back off when happy... there's a surprising amount of movement when all 4 nuts are loose. I changed my originals for facelift, then back to original, then back to face lift, and then, just before it sold, back to original... It is possible to re align them. Looking at your pic I think you'll be able to lift them off the bumper, may require a little rotation to keep the lines complete.
  20. So, if ya get this set, and an alloy top pipe, and re use the metal bottom pipe.. you can go full metal/silicone.
  21. No advantage power wise on a stock car.. Longer lasting fit I guess. Also, if you pop a pipe you can just get the silicone bit at a saving, vs the whole lot.. It all clips together much more tightly than OEM.. On a mapped / modded car, you can push a bit harder as the pipe work can take more boost and higher temps. I needed a pipe replacing, found their turbo pipe and enquired about a pipe for the bottom of the SMIC.. The OEM pipe I needed was £106, forge do the turbo one for £80, so I figured they could do me one cheaper.. I got lucky and they offered the whole lot in exchange for my originals to prototype from.. ... Oh, they've got the set up on the site now... Fooking cheap for a full set, that is! http://www.forgemoto...oduct=FMKT19TDi And the turbo pipe on it's own.... http://www.forgemoto...oduct=FMTHI130D I asked, the whole lot is the oil stable stuff, so no worries on the breather setup.. .... p.s. If they don't fit, it's not my fault, lol!
  22. Forge do a High Temp turbo pipe for about £80 with the couplers... Bottom boost pipe is already metal, and not seen... It's only really the SMIC bottom bend that needs thought. I know Forge do those to OEM spec as they used the set off my old car as patterns.. Not sure if it's all on the site yet, though.
  23. I've just sold the vRS for, as my avatar says, a 94' E34 520i Touring... .. I'm surprised how little I miss the power, I'm not surprised how much I like RWD and a more sophisticated chassis... Now, for some picture whoring...
  24. Much happier with 2 extra cylinders, Ya can keep ya turbos.

      Rob.

Well, that was a 520... but that's gone now.. 4cyl and no turbo now.. Feels a little slow.. Still, 55k with BMW-FSH.. under a grand, can't complain!.. Ya can still keep ya turbos, but if I tripped over a wedge of lost notes I'd be down the supercharger shop!
