In the last 10 days or so I saw a post regarding a method of free access to Skoda Connect. The member asked to contact him if interested. I have not been able to find it now, anyone know where this post is.

I think I will have to answer my own question. I have just taken the DX satnav unit apart and there an now boards in there that resemble the ones used in this mod. I now believe they maybe the circuit boards from the Skoda Audience mp3 headunit. Did this headunit use the inbuilt Skoda Amplifier Can anyone confirm this.

Has anyone tried this on a Skoda Superb L&K 2008 model. This model has the amp under the parcel shelf in the boot to. I have installed the the original head unit in the boot as per option 1 If this had worked I planed to use a relay in place of the push to on switch trigged by switching on the new headunit.

I had a similar thing with my Kodiaq after a flat battery dash was lite up like a Christmas tree. The engine did start. I took for a run a lot of the systems returned to normal . The rest I had to clear with VCDS.

Probably the jet is blocked, but watch for water seeping from rear door this will indicate pipe has come off.

I have been trying to get a modern Pioneer AVIC head unit installed in a friends 2007 Superb L&K. L&K has an amplifier under the rear parcel shelf it sounds great and very powerful. There is an interface called SKODA AMP ON which allows other head units to power the amp on. Does any one know who sells it, has one for sale or how to send a signal to the canbus to turn it on.

I know it’s an old post I have tried Google but no joy. I need to turn Amp on. Who sells the SKODA AMP ON

I know this is an old post but as an update it’s always the negative side of the bulb holder that get corroded due to electron flow you will normally find both lights are affected a quick fix is to replace the contact with one from the other one giving you one working light. But a pair of LED number lights are £12 on eBay

I am looking into trying to upgrade a friends Superb L&K early 2008. Is it possible to fit a later VAG unit that allow use of a non CD SAT NAV disc yet still keep the maxi dot audio info.

It has been proved in under 2 weeks people don’t see a permanent notice as it is just part of their surroundings.

Kenny thanks for the info. Within the link you sent you sent there is a a warning about using TFL. now somewhere I have seen an ad for powder coated attachment brackets will have to try and find it again

Looking at OEM running boards on eBay most have a warning about using TFR (traffic film remover) and corrosion. Has anyone any experience of this.

Thanks Scot5 but have already searched you tube but they deal with earlier VW models that you put the key and turn it to start the car and you could register the new key as their was a pickup coil in the ignition barrel that read the key. Of course as the Kodiaq is keyless entry it complicates things.

Hi This is a bit of a long shot. Does anyone have a mobility scooter hoist fitted in their Kodiaq. I have used one from a RAV that I need to modify and would be nice to see where the mounting points are. It’s an Autochair I am trying to fit. I wouldn’t recommend Autochair as their customer services are most unhelpful.

Here in Lincolnshire we have a mot chain called we only mot, so they have nothing gain if your car fails. Yes when I was in the motor trade many years ago it was always good practice to change springs and shock absorbers in pairs but that seems to have gone out the window now.

If a pipe has become disconnected in the hatch lid you normally get water coming out at the bottom of the door like mine did. The tubing runs from the top of the door through a rubber convoluted tube into the cabin near side I think. It runs in the loom which can be seen by easing the head lining down, you may have pull the door seals down to. I recently ran a cable along this route so the above cable run is what I can recall while doing that. If you have a rear camera check the lens gets washed when rear wiper is on. If you do have to repair a pipe Skoda do a repair connector I read somewhere

Car has just mot, extended due to COVID. Misting on front shock absorber was an advisory. I knew this was going to happen as it was reported to me on a previous service carried out by an independent. Reported to dealer who claimed it was normal and would not change under warranty. Today I had cause to speak to Skoda customer service due to unable to telephone the dealer. During the conversation I mentioned I wanted to find out the cost of a shock absorber and explained about the misting issue. He told me that they were only under warranty for 6months and it was classed as fair wear and tear. Seems totally wrong as only Skoda is able to say it’s faulty so overriding the Mot tester. There must be a conflict of interests if you have a mot carried out at a dealer. I have an L&K so have the DCC, haven’t got price from the dealer yet but did enquire at a motor factors and was told £275 +vat, they suggested I get a price from dealer as sometime dealer is cheaper. Will probably leave it and give them a good clean if it’s just misting before next Mot

Thanks for the link with the info on adding another switch. I want to use it to open the rear hatch lid. I have already ran the 2 wires required into where the switches are next to gear lever. It’s a pity we don’t have Maplin anymore. I will use Ali express.

100% correct , I mistakenly thought people would understand push push to make. The switch is needed enable the rear hatch lid to be closed.

It’s no 2020 but will post this as a warning. I changed belt on my Octavia tdi. used VCDS graph to check Valve timming it was out but it reported fuel temp to low to adjust. It would not warm up when stationary so I took it for a run a mile down the road engine stopped valves had hit pistons.

I couldn’t log in to Erwin as I did many years ago for an Audi got locked out so went eBay route.

Found a workshop manual on eBay for £25 it’s an online download. It’s all PDF’s of Skoda official manual.
