I agree on the trade in. I'm trading in my '08 Plate Octy vRS TDi which Glass' said was worth about £8k ish and the dealer is offering me nearly £10k which I know I wouldn't get if I cancelled and went elsewhere (especially as it has had a few thousand extra miles on it since March).

I call BS. Ordered my vRS in March and have a build date in week 21.

The dealer has told me that they will supply me the parts for £150. The reckon that they come in about £300 at cost and are willing to throw in £150 towards the deal to make me happier. Cheeky sods want extra for fitting them though so they can get stuffed - I'll do it myself! They're also chucking in a set of mats too (that was another option that I didn't take) because they know that they'll be stuck with a car that they'll struggle to sell.

The order form, I believe, states that you won't lose your deposit if the delay in supplying the car to you is unreasonable - and it would appear that this is the case. You want to be thankful. I've got to pay my dealer £150 for that bloody black pack because mine is being built on wk21!!

I was wondering this too, but I suppose it is covered by Warranty for the first 3 years and I'd never keep it at the end of my PCP deal so I might as well just enjoy what it can do from day one!

I've been told by the dealer (and have read on here) that it's basically down to the 'build week' that the car is built on. Like I said, I ordered on 8th March and it was put through on the 10th and got 21 :( so I believe so with any luck you'll get the 2012 model - keep your fingers crossed and ask what week you've got. That said though, there seems to be no logic whatsoever between the dates that the cars were ordered and the dates they're due to be built on - some get theirs sooner than others.

I'm very disappointed really. The car I have opted for is fully loaded with the exception of the Sunroof & Smokers pack. I'm having the Amundsen and all the other toys. For the sake of one week I'm being royally shafted! The dealers try to blag that it was because I had the VAT offer which I have pointed out is BS because there are others that ordered upto the 31st March that are being built after this week and are getting the updated spec. Then I pointed out that that is not treating customers fairly, not is it treating them the same. I'm really annoyed and am seriously considering cancelling my order because of it. I will end up with a car that is the 'old model' the week after it is brand new and, in my opinion, looks nowhere near as good as what the new one does. From what I can gather the MY2012 model includes a Short Roof Whip Aerial and Black Pack (headlights, foglights & grille). The Amundsen+ Nav Unit appears to include Western & Central Europe pre-installed (points to a HDD being built in) and full 7 digit postcode recognition. My generous dealer are now looking into costings of all the parts for me to see what they can do - brill, extra expense. Might just cancel and get my deposit back and leave them in schtuck with a fully loaded brand new vRS that won't actually be brand new and that they can't do the VAT free offer on.

I'm gutted I'm not getting the black pack on mine for the sake of a week. I really kicked up a stink with my dealer and they went to SUK a few times but can't do anything! For the sake of 1 week my car will be worth a less due to the 'facelift' and apparently a new shorter aerial.

I've kicked up a stink because I'm not getting the black pack and mine is build week 21 (1 week shy or MY2012). The dealer has been to SUK a few times and they can't do anything about it. I'm going to have to buy all the parts separately. I will gladly swap the parts with someone who wants the chrome because I really don't!!

I ordered mine on 8th March. Fabia vRS in Green with Black Roof & Black Alloys and every extra except the smokers pack and Sunroof and I've been given a build week of 21, which I'm not too happy about because I will end up with a MY2011 car and not the new spec one for the sake of one week! After giving the dealer a lot of crap I haven't got anywhere either because there's nothing that can be done about the build week due to the logistics involved in building the car. Looks like I'm going to have to buy the smoked lights and dark grill at an added cost to myself :'( Apparently I should get 3 years free servicing on the PCP though which is a bonus and will hopefully cancel out the cost of the parts I will have to buy separately.

GMFV on a Fabia vRS in green with black roof and alloys and all extras except sunroof was about £5800.

For me it's not about making money back it's about enjoying a car with all the options on it that I want. I have an '08 Octavia vRS at the moment and it has loads of options on it and I brought a MK1 Fabia vRS from new without any options and I must say as much as I enjoyed the car it was definitely lacking for me without anything extra and I'm a sucker for toys and stuff. I'd rather buy it on the VAT deal and get everything I want VAT free than buy it after and pay the same price for nothing. We only live once.

I went mad on the 8th March and ordered the following: Rallye Green vRS Black Roof Black Alloys Red Upholstery Parking Sensors Heated Seats Climate Control Sat Nav Storage Boxes Third Rear Headrest Cruise Control MFSW with Telephone Prep & Bluetooth Curve Projector Headlights Front Armrest Glasses Storage Rear Electric Windows I think the only things I didn't go for were the Smoker's pack and Sunroof. It sounds like it'll come after week 22 and will have the black pack too so fingers crossed for that. Just playing the waiting game now... :zzz:

I recently ordered a green vRS with a black roof and alloys and contacted the dealer yesterday to ask about this pack. He went away and found that it would be on all models built after week 22 but he said he would make sure my order was held back by a week or so in order to get the black pack and to ensure that my car was current because in effect it is like a facelift and without it my car would probably be worth less.

That is a nice sound!
