  1. I’d stick with what’s recommended tbh, 10mm isn’t going to do anything apart from increase the area where road noise comes from? That’s my thinking anyway 😆
  2. My alloys are pretty special, from Superskoda and to my knowledge not available from UK dealers. Is anyone interested in them? With my last car I swapped my alloys with someone plus cash before I sold up (extras do nothing to used values so may as well sell separately) Happy to do something similar again. I’ll get some photos, I think they’re all unmarked and they all have nearly-new (2 months) Michelin PilotSport 4S fitted.
  3. No problem, thanks for reporting back it’s nice to know I’ve helped 😁
  4. I’ve got R600 now but the Ramair panel filter is what I had before. K&N filters are oiled and I wouldn’t go near them ever again especially on a diesel, they mess with EGR/DPF/MAF. I had an Insignia 2 cars ago and I got rid of it because the oiled filter had sludged everything up, another few thousand miles I’d have had a huge bill. I didn’t over-oil it before anyone suggests that 🙂
  5. Dunlop SportMaxx RT2 are the quietest tyres I’ve ever had, and believe me I tried all sorts on my last car. Only downside is that they do get louder when you get down to about 2.5mm but I treated that like a wear indicator tbh
  6. Thanks, I’ll be selling them again along with the Rieger skirt, I just wanted to finish the god damn exhausts for that sense of achievement plus I was the guinea pig for any other 220 owners who think their hidden exhausts are pants... Here they are new: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323985435417 They bolted on using these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143632937022 Exhaust tips (original) were removed using one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274334662469 but if you have a half decent dremel that will work, but protect your eyes!! EDIT: I left just over an inch of the original tips sticking out of the silencers, for the clamps to attach. If you cut it too far in the weight of the new tips will make them sag. Nobody likes sagging
  7. I couldn’t afford the spec I wanted in a 280 which was a shame, but tbh I would have probably wrapped a 280 round a tree by now 🤦‍♂️
  8. Yes. This. But for me about 60bhp less, and no traction! Lmao, liking the random Trump rant mid-thread 😂
  9. Happy with my Superb now. Wheel spacers, Rieger skirt, Scirocco R exhaust tips, R600 intake... And the giant red flappy paddles are hilarious, people look at them at traffic lights thinking “what a saddo” and then BOOM I’m gone 😂
  10. This was happening to me. It’s a common fault, the Superb has a coolant pump which has a plastic housing and often fails or cracks. I think there is a revised part which isn’t covered by any recalls as it wasn’t “common enough” {{ EDIT: Maybe my engine differs to yours (2.0 220bhp) but I asked him to do the cambelt but he said that this plastic water/coolant pump was not run by the cambelt so that would be an unnecessary cost - a bit like changing your head gasket with your spark plugs 🤷‍♂️ }} I ended up paying about £450 to replace it, and that was an independent VAG specialist, can’t imagine Skoda prices! Initially I took the car for diagnosis and they took the diagnosis cost off the bill at the end. They said it only leaks when engine is running and hot, and because of the location of the pump plus the plastic under trays meant that no puddle would form on the driveway. I hope this isn’t your issue as it’s an expensive one, but it’s worth paying for a diagnosis to avoid irreversible damage to your engine. Mine has been fixed for a couple of months now and coolant hasn’t moved 👍
  11. +1, I did the same. Simpsons Skoda Preston quoted about same price, £90ish 😵 Edit: £136!! I’d already posted in here lol
  12. I admit, my sleeper has evolved... It’s funny, I did like the idea of hidden exhausts to a certain extent, it reminded me of an old jag that didn’t need to show off exhausts, it was just fast lol... I had an idea in my head 2 years ago of what I wanted, I was originally thinking a standard pair of VAG round chrome exhausts like an older A6. After spending 2 grand on having it all changed/swapped/replaced because of a pair of complete morons, I came across the Rieger skirt and my ideas changed. I’m well happy with it now, even if my circumstances mean I’ll have to let it go sometime soon my Superb is not like any other, I like that 👍
  13. Mine creaks occasionally but I’d rather have a sunroof and the odd noise than no sunroof and no noise
  14. I have Thule Wingbars and they work fine with the sunroof, can open and close without catching Mine is a hatch
  15. I had a rattle like that, for some reason it was the rear seat back rattling on the hook it locks onto in the upright position. It was one of the earliest things I did to my car, wrapped the loop in a bit of duct tape. It’s still there, and silent 🙂 Yours may be from somewhere different but worth checking
  16. My L&K is a 2.0 and I get 42-45mpg on a motorway run without trying. Round town it’s crap, I get about 30 if that but I’m sure that’s the same for most cars. I haven’t driven a 1.5 myself but our A Class is a 1.5 and feels pretty gutless to me and it’s lighter than the Superb. I guess as already mentioned it’s down to driving style but personally I’d hate to drive a lovely big Sportline and not be able to hoof it on the odd occasion 🙃
  17. Maybe they’re trying to get us slowly used to cars without exhausts (electric future) The new Audi S4, S5 and S6 are now V6 DIESELS only, and have FOUR fake exhausts! Whoever makes these decisions is either demented or just trying to wind everyone up
  18. I just thought the hidden exhausts were a shame on the 220 as it’s pretty damn fast. Equivalent Audi and even Seat have visible tailpipes, not sure what Skoda we’re thinking. The 280 tips are only available with the back boxes and they’re £699 each. At least I used VAG tips, I tried lol
  19. Thanks, I’m really happy with it. The badges are from Superskoda yes, the Skoda badge is slightly bigger but it doesn’t matter to me. Finish is identical. I would like to finish it with a rear Skoda emblem that matches my front one (moon white metallic and black) but I’m not sure if they are the same fitment/size. Superskoda don’t sell a rear one 😞 Also the tinted reflectors were from Superskoda. Better photo attached Also I have some better looking and legal number plates on the way, had these on ages but got stopped last week, had a friendly chat (not sarcasm) and said I’d sort them 👍
  20. Got a photo from my cctv because I’m lazy... Excuse the dirty arse
  21. Sounds good! This is our thinking too. Lockdown helped us make the decision as well, I don’t think we’ll be flying anywhere for a while now and every time we went to Spain or Turkey I would look out the window and wonder about all those hidden gems we’re flying over I’m basically waiting to see what happens job wise; it’s been ongoing since March 2018 and the company I work for really have looked after me... I may find myself in a better position in a month or so but if not, we’ll be hauling our plastic house on wheels around Europe and I probably won’t miss it really 👍
  22. I upgraded mine to Brembo OE discs and pads. The factory discs are awful, plus I guess the rears get used more than you think by other systems such as Lane guidance / esp / parking brake etc
  23. Thanks guys, it means a lot. It will be a sad day but I’ve had such fun with the Superb. We’re going to bugger off in the new motorhome in a couple of months to explore the UK and Europe if Covid doesn’t lock us all down again. Until then I can still find excuses to go to the shops etc in the Superb but that’s not justifiable forever unfortunately. I can also straighten my finances if I sell up, I hate ‘adulting’ but sometimes gotta be sensible I suppose 🙂
  24. I forgot to add these details 2016 (16 plate) 62,000 miles 2.0 tsi 220 DSG I think tax is £145 and insurance for me is £700 with mods declared - 30yrs old, no points/claims, 11yrs ncd
  25. I finished this a couple weeks back so I’ll get a photo or 2 and confirm the parts soon for anyone interested. This whole mod (or whole car) may be available soon as per this thread.
