  1. Oh your very welcome and thank you for your pleasant feedback. I can honestly say that I am no Haynes Manual however I know more about cars than the average person. My personal preference is to not ever buy a Citroen. I am personally very please with my Skoda experience.
  2. No I'd stick with Skoda all the way, I had a warranty claim on my Fabia within the first 12 months of ownership which involved a new mechatronic unit and new dual clutch and it all went pretty smoothly. Not missed a beat since.
  3. I just wouldn't touch any French muck.... sorry you ain't going to get the reliability or build quality of Skoda.
  4. Haha the wrong approach in my opinion, even if they don't make any extra noise I just really dislike faux exhausts. After watching this video at the beginning I couldn't see any pea shooter hanging down.....it could be wishful thinking though.
  5. Are the exhaust looking holes in the rear bumper faux?
  6. My car is in repair at Forward Motors (Malvern) at the moment, they are Skoda approved. Had some tit reverse in to me in a car park whilst I was parked and in the car and he drove off!! Got all his reg and van signage. Crushed my rear bumper near side corner and split, also scraped the alloy too. Should have it back next week.
  7. Did you buy this from Malvern? Looks like their garage.
  8. Thanks for your response, you do bring out my sensible side and in about 5 months or less it's a choice between the 1.4 or 1.5 tsi SEL (nearly new) or the tsi VRS both in manual this time round. If I go VRS could I regret it after about 3 months of testing out the fast pedal? With the 1.4 or 1.5 at least I would have a good punch of power when needed but when in situations of only being able to drive steady I wouldn't have to be paying for the privilege of the VRS. Other things to factor in like insurance around £200 extra per year when my insurance will reduce from my Fabia to Octy 1.4 / 1.5 Higher road tax? Higher service cost? Probably £500 extra fuel cost per year I'm still not fully decided yet and I know I would love the nuts off a VRS if I get one.
  9. Thanks dunc it's good to know. It's my intention to get a VRS soon and it won't be driven like a granny every day
  10. Thank you all so far for your input. In the broad scheme of things the Octavia Vrs Tsi doesn't seem too bad to run. Of course I wouldn't drive like my gran but with all that power on tap when you want it you have the best of both worlds I think.
  11. Thank you that is very helpful and not really that bad and not dissimilar to my 1.2 tsi DSG Fabia Hatch which has a good gallon less tank space.
  12. Hi all Please submit your full tank range and average mpg Yes I know a VRS shouldn't be bought to be frugal but I'd like to know if I can realistically afford to run one. Thank you.
  13. Are those twin exit exhausts too!!!??? I hope they are not fakes if they are, cant quite get a good view
  14. It does look a bit odd, maybe they just couldn't decide between grill style or mesh so they put both on
  15. Well here are the facts https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/first-official-pictures/skoda/skoda-fabia-hatchback-2018-facelift-price-specs-and-interior/
  16. It is a possibility however for the UK could be slim. The VW Polo is yet to be confirmed with the 1.5tsi for the UK. We will just have to hope, roll on March for the "black and white" face lift specs.
  17. Hmmm thank you vc-10 that is very useful info, I thought they didn't look like they were adjustable but begged the question as I am tall so I don't know if I could set my head rest at the correct height if I were to buy a Monte or any model with the sports seat design.
  18. Looking at a 1.5tsi Octavia hatch for my next PCH what's wrong with the suspension please?
