  1. I had a Toyota Avensis previously and like you, I was able to make my own templates. I was unable to see how to change the ones on the Superb so I asked the same question as you a while back and got no replies so I'm guessing that the answer is no you can not create your own templates.
  2. It's only clumsy when you try to get through the doors of the shops, other than that it's very nimble and easy to park. I dare say a lot of women on the forum will find that their other half does drive and like the car!
  3. Did the fitters balance the wheels after fitting the tyres?
  4. There may be a need in that case. You could try a Tablet screen protector. You might need to trim it down a bit depending on the size.
  5. Why would you need one? You should only be using your finger on it. You can not drop it. If you are involved in an accident and it gets smashed your insurance will replace it. I suppose depending on what you do in the car a shoe heel or similar might scratch it but only you can decide if that's likely.
  6. The bottom line is that the warnings are there for a reason what ever that reason may be. Is it worth risking harm to your child by ignoring the warning and finding out the reason when it is too late.
  7. Not sure but I suspect it might be something to do with deployment of the airbags. They could possibly fire towards any child in the rear where as with the seat back up it would stop that.
  8. Try wiping /cleaning the blade with a newspaper.
  9. That is a good deal. No wonder you want a similar one and no wonder no company will give you one like it. The company would probably make no money.
  10. Out of interest what is your present deal?
  11. Try deleting the phone from the Bluetooth connection and then 're connect as though it was the first time.
  12. Because it is synced with your phone they should be deleted when you delete them from your phone and your phone should have an option to block delete.
  13. I had something similar but it was more of a high pitched whine.
  14. Correct, Skoda branding on the handle as you have shown in picture but no branding on the canopy.
  15. I agree about removing the dealers sticker, I did that as well but if I choose to buy a product that comes with the manufacture's label/logo on it I accept it that way.
  16. Does any one know if there is a way to save your own SMS text templates on the Columbus Infotainment system. There are a few pre-loaded ones which I have tried to over-write and save but it won't save.
  17. Just got a new 17 plate Skoda Superb SE L Executive estate from this garage. Sales man David King was first class. Gave a good deal and was very helpful. I changed my delivery date a couple of times and this was dealt with without problem. Hopefully I won't be needing the workshops except for services, the first two of which were added in as part of my deal so at present can't comment on them. I will update this thread as and when I use the workshops.
  18. Just picked up a new 17 plate SEL Executive today and it had three keys.
  19. A "real" panel beater serves a three year apprenticeship before becoming a qualified tradesman however I suspect you are not looking to be as fully trained or competent as a qualified tradesman or carry out the types of repair that they can do. If that is the case you can sign up for courses that lasts from a week to three weeks depending on how much you can afford and want to learn and they will teach you the basics of minor panel fixing. If you do an Internet search you should be able to find a few companies offering the training.
  20. I couldn't help myself when I saw the title of your thread. Save your money and buy a nice pair of leather gloves. The bonus is that you can even use them when not in the car... you can't do that with a heated steering wheel.
  21. It all depends on which type of "lease" you want and if you can get your head around not having a car at the end of the contract. In order to do that you just need to work out whether you want to keep the car after the contract and how much it is worth at that time or if you don't want to keep the car how much it will have depreciated and is the lease cost more or less the same as that. PCH or Personal Contract Hire, you only put down 3 or 6 months hire payment in advance followed by the monthly hire payment. You do not have the option to buy the car. You just walk away. It is basically just a long term car hire. You do not need a big cash deposit and monthly payments can be the same or less than a loan repayment. The PCP or Personal Contract Purchase is what was previously known as hire purchase. You are basically paying for the car by putting down a large deposit and then monthly payments over a given period. At the end of that period you have the option to either make a final payment so that you own the car or you can decide not to make the payment and just walk away. As regards getting a loan to buy a car, if you change your car and use it as a deposit at the end of the loan period, say every four years, you are effectively doing the same as a PCP in that you are putting down a large deposit (your old car) and have a monthly repayment over the period of the loan. It may be cheaper with a bank loan but if you shop around for lease deals it might not be. Plus points are you do own the car at the end of the loan and you don't need to make a final payment (because your monthly payments have been higher) and if you don't trade it in you could have a few years of no monthly repayments but your car is depreciating in value. There are pros and cons for both types of contract and bank loan. You need to work out which one suits your pocket and needs. Personally I don't want to own the car after the contract ends so the PCH suits me best. Keep in mind the quote from the Oil Baron Paul Getty, "If it appreciates. buy it, if it depreciates, lease it".
  22. I have entered into a Personal lease (no option to buy) deal for a new Skoda Superb SE L Executive Estate in business grey with a spare wheel extra. It is from my local Skoda dealer and is a 3+35 month contract with 12,000 miles per year. i.e 36000 at the end of term or pay 7pence per mile for every mile over . The initial 3 months payment is £900 and thereafter 35 monthly payments of £300. This includes road tax and two free services. Total outlay is over the three years is £11,400 which is more or less the depreciation on the car and when you throw in the two free service’s and the road tax it works out a pretty good deal in my mind. This will be the third car I have leased and I find that it suits me. I am happy not to own the car. I change my car every three years without having to take out a bank loan and I like the fact that I do not need to go through the ritual of trying to haggle the best price for a trade in or trying to get the best price on the new car.
