  1. Whatever it is that I have bought will be a damn side better than my current ones that literally empty my brake fluid res within 3 days of no use! They are bad!! But I will do that thanks! So bleed them before they are even fitted then??
  2. Got 2 brand new Lucas Calipers ready to fit tomorrow for the grand sum of £35 ea! Pays to know people from motor factors
  3. I purchased an eezibleed the other day for it bud! Clamping the hoses will normal vice grips do the trick or will I need to get proper clamps?
  4. Hi guys, going to fit new rear calipers to the fabia today seeing as mine are leaking like mad. I've been reading and people are saying all sorts about pre filling the calipers and clamping hoses etc? is this to do away with bleeding? Or can I just take the hose off, remove old caliper refit new and refit hose then bleed as normal? What's the process for these as seems to be so many mixed reviews?!
  5. Was leaking like mad! Replaced the seal and was still leaking And wanted a boost gauge was more of an impulse buy otherwise I would of kept it.
  6. I've searched for this but can't find it the EGR delete on my ASZ has brought up the EML light now obviously this will need to be mapped out, if I don't get it mapped out is it causing any harm or changing how the car should be running or does it make no difference how the car runs?
  7. lol I know what you mean, tripod for the infant spec forum board haha. 106 doesn't stop cocking it's leg, when one of the drop links went I could almost see the boot out the windscreen haha
  8. Console bushes are going to be changed probably for Powerflex or equivalent just for ease of fitting and never had an issue with powerflex parts. Coilovers are more for looks and of course handling but more for looks, on the spiders it looks like a monster truck! Lovely that clears that up then! I'll get the console bushes sorted out! I'll pop them in same time as fitting the coilovers as it will already be disassembled do it all in 1 hit. Makes life easier that way! Does the RARB make a big difference to the fabia?
  9. Thankyou for the replys. The car had it's MOT and the only two things on the advisorys were leaking rear calipers which I was aware of a NSF track rod end. There was no mention of the bushes however I polybushed the entire car for my track car and it completely transformed the car so it's certainly something I'm going to do with the fabia. On the fabias is it worth polybushing the lot? Or just the console bushes and addition of RARB with coilovers of course. I've got a fast car built for going as fast as possible so don't really want to go too mad on the fabia but I do want to have fun in it all the same as currently it makes me cry not smile haha.
  10. Worth replacing with polybush? They a pig to do or fairly easy? Seen polybush replacement on eBay for around £30
  11. I've had my VRS for about 8 months now and slowly starting to rectify all the issues that it has. One which im yet to find out is the strange wobble I get from the car. any sort of bump in the road and the steering wheel wobbles as such, it's like driving a jelly is the best way I can describe it. It's unstable along the road, I drove my mates vrs a good hour last night to NYE Fireworks and his is like a completely different car! Granted his has coilovers but it's so smooth makes his feel like a Bentley and mine like a reliant! Even when accelerating hard the car torque steers massively at times pulling aggressively across the road. Where do I start? Is this 140k suspension? As Weitec coilovers are replacing my standard setup soon, or is it bushes? Or something as simple as alignment? It's very hard to describe but the easiest way is like driving a jelly. Really wobbly and every little imperfection In the road the steering wheel reacts
  12. Probably down to the boost garage TBH!! Not the best in the world lol, it's connected to the EGR delete, think it spikes around 30/35 and settles more along line of 27 but I will check and report back, ill post my dyno graph too may have many of boost leaks (more than likely it's a fabia) and see what you make of it. Oh yes 100% the 106 doesn't make its power to later in the rev range however I wasn't driving the fabia I was driving the 106 and my friend was driving my car, however we was virtually neck on neck and then around 80mph the 106 pulled past like the fabia come on the brakes! Looking At the graph the torque drops off real quick however the power looks like it picks up again, I haven't seen any other graphs for these cars but to me the map looks awful with the graph
  13. I'm not 100% sure if it has boost leaks or not don't quote me on that. May just be a boring map! My boost gauge seems to spike at about 32psi then hold at around 25/26psi roughly maybe a tad more. Seems silly that the BHP and torque figure of the fabia are far superior to the 106, they was about even til around 70/80mph then the 106 pulled past like the fabia was going out of fashion, slight uphill too you would think the torque of the fabia would keep it upfront
  14. That is future plans. The entire car is track ready spec as you say, the engine was fully rebuilt this year due to piston ring failure so the plan is now to work on the engine, everything else has been upgraded! GAZ GOLDs, 266mm 206 GTi brake setup, braided lines fully polybushed etc you name it I've done it lol. Couple photos for those who care!
  15. When the 106 was weighed/tested for 0-60 it was actually completed with a full tank of fuel and 4 passengers, the car was much quicker than first thought and if the tests were carried out with 1 driver and empty tank the insurance would be too high for youngsters who which the car was aimed at, google it, known fact in the 106 world. My 106 has one single carbon kevlar seat, the entire insides have been gutted, all glass replaced with Perspex apart from the front window, the inside of the door skin etc have been hole sawed for more weight reduction, it's around the med 800kg mark id say it's been on a serious diet. No carpets trim etc all ripped out, I would need to get it weighed to find out exactly. my fabia rolled 166/325 with flash map, may be riddled with boost leaks as it does soot at the higher rpm over 3/4k the 0-60 time in the 106 is much quicker than what they state, I also have a VTR gearbox in mine so it doesn't hit the limiter in 2nd til about 70/75 so it shaves even more time off 0-60. Much longer ratios than the GTi box, however it doesn't accelerate as quick as the GTi box so it's swings and roundabouts but I prefer the longer ratios on track. Brands hatch I barely get into fourth and that's just before paddock hill bend before I'm back down into 3rd, Lydden hill is only 2nd/3rd don't even get into 4th
  16. TMB that's my wonder is it worth modifying and is 230bhp considered fast? Cause 166 feels so slow considering the 106 is faster due to weight etc but due to the torque and the turbo on the fabia I would of thought t would of left my 106 GTi standing considering it's a standard engine opposed to my Fabia with the remap
  17. That's the issue the 106 makes me smile ear to ear, the fabia just makes me depressed when I drive it!! I'm worried about going 230ish out the fabia but still feel the same about it! And it being completely boring etc, granted the Megane will have electrical woes nothing im not used to with the 106 although it's mainly been mechanical issues with that! I don't want to out the fabia as I love a good sleeper, but at the same time the Megane keeps making me want to convert. Is it worth spending 4k on a Megane? Or soop the fabia up? Seeing as I paid 1200 for mine! Cost wise to see 230-250, what would i be looking around? I would source second hand parts on some things to keep cost down too, 312s FMIC etc
  18. Never owned a diesel car before always had high revving petrols and over on the fabia pages the boys reckon the Fabias are the fastest cars in the world so thought I would give it a whirl  got it mapped about 2 weeks after buying it and after my 106 completely destroyed it and after driving the mrs Mini JCW 210 I knew I needed fun back in my life and the VRS just doesn't cover that! Maybe because it's on standard suspension maybe because it's underpowered but it really doesn't make me smile like the 106 does ... granted the 106 has a seat cage and plastic windows though lol i dont tend to chop and change my cars too often in all honesty, usually I keep them for quite sometime I know that's almost 80bhp difference from my figure at 166 and 230 but does it feel like 230? Or would a Megane R26 (230bhp) trounce the fabia at 230bhp?
  19. That is my point Sepul, like granted I could go 1756 intercooler etc etc however it will only be around the 200-250 mark at a push whereas the Megane can be seen 280bhp with exhaust intercooler map and probably be a lot more car than the fabia. Mine isn't a slouch but for 166bhp and 325ftlb I would expect more. I'm not sure if I'm riddled with boost leaks though, if I posted my dyno graph would you be able to tell?
  20. Thanks for all the replys. Yes I would replace the rears as a pair, no point doing one side as could cause imbalance or the other side to fail shortly after do it right first time etc
  21. That is what I'm thinking mate - out the box the Megane has the LSD, 4 pot brembos etc seems like a lot more car than the fabia, brakes are going to be sorted asap as I will have the fabia for a good while longer hence thinking of running more power
  22. I currently have a 166bhp/325ftlb Fabia and in all honesty I can't wait to get rid, it bores the life out of me! I had a 106 GTi before hand which was much quicker and much more fun which is now my dedicated track car. I was looking at getting rid for a Megane R26 or similar, now if I got my Fabia to around 230-250bhp what are they like? As the fabia is far from fast compared to the 106. Also if I go for a bigger turbo would I need to upgrade the clutch? If I got the torque capped around 300ftlb? Or is it better to just get the Megane? I've never seen a Fabia around the 250bhp go or haven't come across one, just doesn't fill me with much confidence when my Fabia and my 106 were side by side to around 80mph then the 106 pulled past like the fabia was standing still and the 106 is around 130bhp and my Fabia is mapped?
  23. Lovely thanks for the help! I'm in two Minds currently whether to replace these calipers for the larger setup or rebuild these ones, may just uograde can never have enough stopping power
  24. Lovely thanks gents - I have plenty of degreaser/brake cleaner/ use of airline etc for the operation, I may just upgrade the rear braking system for for the larger alternative yet I'm still undecided. If it breaks upgrade etc! In in terms of bleeding the MC is it carried out the same way as bleeding the brakes? Using the eezibleed and cracking off the nipples?
  25. I've also read online the master cylinder may need to be bled too? I understand there is 2 bleed nipples and the 90 degree boost hose needs to be removed is it a case of the same process as brake caliper? Hook up the easy bleed kit and crack off the master cylinder nipples?
