  1. It seems just because of 1 story, common sense posting have vacated and wild speculation have prevailed.
  2. Do other dealerships pay for flood damaged cars under warranty? Good general advice for all car owners TBH.
  3. It would be interesting to learn if EV actually had any meaningful impact to the Luton Airport car park fire. The fire spread in similar fashion as Liverpool car park fire mainly due to liquid fuel carrying the fire after a few cars became alight. We have to remember the Liverpool car park fire is unlikely to have involved many EV, if any. From all the evidence we've seen, mainly posted by yourself. EV fires are localised to the car, it does not travel away from the car. It doesn't look like it will spread as easily as liquid fuel carrying the flame anywhere the wind/slope takes it.
  4. EV are supposed to be able to drive through deeper water due to not needing to "breath" I think it's a manufacturing fault with the battery weather proofing. Tesla are trying to get away with it by blaming weather warning, perhaps due to no other water ingress faults been reported on that batch, so they decided it was user fault. They make extensive use of AI to spot patterns on their back-end. For example, up coming car software update will use previous data to predict supercharger availability and wait times: https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/1645/tesla-update-2023-38-will-predict-supercharger-availability-and-wait-times
  5. That's bad customer service from Tesla was my first reaction. At the same time, there were some serious flooding from other news I've seen. But regardless of weather, batteries should not suffer from water ingress unless properly flooded for a long time. Given the owner's recount in the article, I'd expect it to be covered under warranty. I wonder if there's anything like early iPhones, where there is a submerged marker to invalidate warranties.
  6. UK Configurator is now online: https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/model3/design#overview Under ÂĢ40k for RWD, apart from battery and motor config difference, I can't find any other difference between trim levels.
  7. Is there new development or something? I'm not seeing anything new regarding this Luton airport fire.
  8. Weeeelllllll, recovery of vehicle seems to be low priority (as in scrapping all the cars in that car park): https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-67117301 It makes financial sense, assume average car cost 15k for insurance to pay out. That would be "only" 18mil, not paid by Luton airport. Building the car park costed ÂĢ20 mil (sorry, only source I can find from quick google) , never mind lost revenue during downtime. For the airport, getting it back and running is more important. Doesn't make sense from every other perspective though. Especially unfair to those people who would loose their car that is otherwise recoverable. Flat ground long-stay might be better option. Try to park up wind and towards top of the hill from other cars.
  9. Liquid fuel flows downwards, all whilst on fire and spreading fire! The Liverpool report says: https://www.merseyfire.gov.uk/media/1592/kings-dock-car-park-fire-sir.pdf Batteries only vent in a very small localised area.
  10. Sure, sure, keep going with your back tracking, smear campaign and adding doubt to a clear cut case. You first questioned whether it is hybrid. Then placed doubt into people's head about whether it is a converted EV. Finally, now you are back tracking to say the official statement couldn't possibly be correct, because ....... you know better. Look at the amount of words typed, you are putting in a lot more energy digging your own hole. I've only been pointing out the official statements and your flawed logic. You obviously have an axe to grind, perhaps been listening to too much youtube nutjobs? I'm also very bored with this, and with you. You had my respect right up until this fire incident. You are free to keep digging your hole to justify your own twisted reasoning that it might be an EV. Fell free to continue your smear campaign against logical reasoning and facts.
  11. You keep saying everything I made up, despite the evidence to the contrary in my previous post. You keep saying you never said Li-on was the cause, but you made the very original connection despite definitive statement from official source and video evidence that it was a diesel vehicle. Feel free to block me, if you'd rather feed on those youtube conspiracy theory videos.......
  12. Only able to see the size of vehicle is obviously not a full size Range Rover. JLR did not make any other MHEV back then. Also, it was a petrol hybrid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Range_Rover Small SUV Evoque hybrid was introduced in 2018: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Range_Rover_Evoque So you are saying you purposefully stated hybrid battery under the seat and smoke in cabin in the same paragram. But afterwards you claim there was no connection between battery and smoke inside the car. Another backtracking in attempt to cover up biases that you can't hide?
  13. That diesel must have been combined with Li-on battery. Surely! Ah yes, diesel in fuel tank doesn't combust because it wouldn't lit with match, it must mean it's not a diesel vehicle. Great logic So you think the fire dept must have had the same video, didn't question eye witness, didn't seek out and interview vehicle owner, and surely didn't have more evidence than us. As I said, biased. Anything to justify your original baseless assertions.
  14. Speaking of problem with diesel vehicles: https://www.expressandstar.com/news/transport/2023/10/14/diesel-spillage-from-lorry-causing-long-delays-on-m6-northbound/ I hope electric HGV's won't be spilling their electricity all over the motorway
  15. Wait, so pointing out the biased logic you used is putting my spin on stuff you say? I'm sorry, I didn't realise you are so sensitive to being reasonable. ðŸĪŠ You are going around in circles trying to find any evidence to justify your suspicion that it is Li-on battery fire. Regardless if your evidence is unrelatable (2013 Land Rover MHEV, no smaller car had been electrified in 2014), baseless (could be converted) or just plain silly (Casting EV battery fire doubt and then backtracking and add other possible reasons) You need to get a grip, it's diesel car self-combusted. You don't like it because it doesn't conform to those extremely biased youtube "personalities" to which you are subscribed.
  16. Diesel doesn't burn that way to your knowledge when not under pressure, it must mean it isn't a pure diesel vehicle, because all cars are mode equal. I think your head is in the sand because you are in denial. Oh yes, obviously it's Li-on battery because JLR made a different model of MHEV back in 2013. (full size Land Rover, size is vastly different to what's in the videos) Oh yes, obviously it's Li-on battery because car interior has pressure building up, despite you previously said EV battery fires vent sideways. Oh yes, obviously it's Li-on battery under the seats on fire because nothing else in the cabin is flammable. Well done, you've been very logical in your extremely biased analysis. Referencing social media (youtube) again, for argument that supports your view. Also you are now an expert in car shapes. Is that where your "main stream media cannot be trusted" view come from?
  17. Now you are refusing to give evidence you've previously referred. Me thinks everything you say is unreliable and have a hidden agenda. At least Geoff's motive is clear: views. Why else would you keep harping on about the 2014 Range Rover diesel fire at Luton airport and coming up with multiple justifications for Li-on battery fire? You really think people will convert a 2014 range rover to electric, when there's much better and cheaper IPace out there? You looked at evidence and overnight, you became an expert in how stuff burns? Flames were being subjected to a pressure source..... hum, I wonder if diesel cars have a high pressure fuel line...... Your bias is so blind, you would come up with ANY theory as long as it is against EV's. The location of hybrid battery are under the floor. NOT in engine bay: https://www.landrover.com/landrovermagazine/hybrid-evoque-so-what-mhev RE swapping Taycan to Tesla. I'm sure he will find the busiest supercharger at busiest times to get his SHOCKING view stats. In case he needs some support, South Mimms is usually quite busy.
  18. It's a pure diesel vehicle. There is no lying or cover up. We have many layers of evidence in the public domain. Now that we've circled back, care to elaborate on your evidence on media being censored or punished?
  19. It's about time energy suppliers start offering localised special tariffs. Octopus have the backend technology (Kraken) to give customers tariff that matches the renewable excess. Combine that tariff with customers who can keep their cars plugged in to smart chargers to soak up those excess renewables. As I've been saying, EV batteries are part of renewable solution. But for some reason, prices are similar between London (https://agileprices.co.uk/?region=C) and Scotland (https://agileprices.co.uk/?region=N). Hopefully with Scotland building connections to renewables themselves, and the pipeline to England not widened, those tariff become a reality for Scots. I've been manipulating my Intelligent Octopus on/off switch to match when house use electricity the most. This way house consumption also counts at 7.5p/kWh. I'm currently facing the problem that I don't drive enough to get more cheap IO slots. ðŸĪĢ When parked, the car is still working for me to get cheap electricity. Soon Leaf will also function as my home battery. Parked EV's are brilliant resources. Edit: Not surprising stat from EV forum: 99% has private parking space. https://www.speakev.com/threads/for-those-who-you-who-have-an-ev-do-you-rent-or-own-your-home.180652/
  20. Hear me out. What if it's a diesel and the ICE is liable to have faults that causes it to violently combust? What if we can build cars that does not have extremely hot components that require heat shields for normal operation? What if the very quick spread of fire is due to plastic fuel tanks are only required to hold highly flammable liquid, with flashpoint of <100c. for 2 min when exposed to flame? What if this Luton airport car park fire was spread similar to Liverpool car park and all other previous car park fire? nO, iT cOuLdN't PoSsIbLy Be. MuSt KeEp An "InQuIrInG mInD".
  21. I suggest you do the same and look back at what you are suggesting: "there is only one possible source for the flames to burn like that, therefore it must be that" That horse have 4 legs, therefore all creature with 4 legs are horses.
  22. So we are flame experts now? Still haven't elaborated on why I'm close minded. Is there something you want to share regarding your view the general state of mass media and how information that doesn't agree with your view point is a cover up?
  23. Ooooh I hate those queues at theme parks.
  24. I'm only blaming you for having the ability to link a non electrified diesel vehicle fire to EV. Having hallmark of battery fire does not mean it is battery fire. But you insist it is relatable to EV's. Please elaborate. As opposed to your open mind and your belief in an alternative reality? ðŸĪŠ Has it occurred to you the driver/owner of vehicle were at the scene and may have already given statement to the authorities? What more do you need to have it confirm it's not EV?
  25. Yes! We have eye witnesses. We have videos from different angle. We have statement from fire department. What more can you possibly want? That everyone is in on a cover up?
