Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
No dedicated platform = not a consideration from me. I remember a Fully Charged video interviewing someone from Stellantis (or may be Peugeot), they were proud that they can switch their production line between powertrains and everything is built on same platform. Sorry, no, from EV driver, it's a compromise.

Other cars charged successfully on the same charger. So probably not the charger or the battery side of things. "Gearbox error"..... I wonder what could it be. May be the parking lock pin is stuck?

Because the market is not balanced, too much money flows into fossil fuel industry. https://youtu.be/EAU5D8hqIUI

EV real world range and cost to charge
My car is 100% vision based autopilot and apart from a few light braking when approaching bridges, I've never had proper full on braking events in all 5k+ I've driven so far. I've read report that since stopped using the radar, false positive emergency braking have greatly reduced. But I do get where you are coming from regarding autopilot, for me it's the the auto steer, it feels nervous on all but most well marked roads with gentle curves. It's still a good system in terms of UI, but I'm sure other properly validated system will drive with more confidence. What car randomly emergency stop for no reason? My Skoda Octavia had the red collision warning on a few occasions for no good reason. The radar systems are prone to misreading metal objects. Glad you are happy with Enyaq. I test drove it, it's super comfortable and a very good regular car. I personally felt it is not special enough, not enough change from previous Octavia, not worth the similar asking price when spec'ed up to MY LR level. Oh yes, @lol-lol, if you are considering Tesla, be sure to get a quote first. They are unreasonably expensive to insure. To some people, unless they really want a Tesla, it's one of the reason to look elsewhere.

Renewables are install once, use long time. They don't have as high operating cost. The technology are getting constantly getting cheaper and cheaper. Renewables are only seen as expensive when fossil fuel get all the government moneys.

EV used car prices plummeting ,what's your experience?
Electricity are cheap when generated by renewables. But somehow the price is tied to a fossil fuel that changes due to geopolitics. It's beyond stupid that everyone pays a single price for a limited resource that changes by the second. It's about time electricity price varies throughout the day and only when fossil fuel is used, it gets expensive. Those who can store gets it cheap...... and what has electricity storage capacity in abundance?

BYD Atto 3 - Short UK Test drive
The MG4 should be in your price range, under £30k? Try to get some "contributions" or forecourt discount. Prices are coming back to normal used car prices. It's definitely a good time to be in the market for one. Now is a buyer's market.

It is indeed an uphill battle to un-do the harm that were done by poorly researched main stream media articles. The batteries will outlast the car and charging times doesn't matter because you are not holding the plug for its duration. The EV market is big, over 60% of UK households have off-street marking, exact number depend on which article you read: https://www.transportxtra.com/publications/parking-review/news/66621/a-third-of-uk-homeowners-don-t-have-a-driveway-or-garage-to-install-a-home-chargepoint/ https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/car-leasing/guides/off-street-parking-index That means minimum 60% of cars can be electric. Current market penetration is way less than that. I say minimum because EV's don't need charging every day, I manage fine 2 EV 1 charger. There are many households with multiple cars. Personally, I think it's about time cars are cleaned up from the streets. Make roads open and not littered with personal items.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Thanks for the info, that is indeed a nightmare to deal with. I can see why it was such a bad experience. The coolant problem seems like an easy fix but they failed to diagnose properly. Now there's user accessible service screen (through a well spread method) that shows coolant and all car diagnostic messages. The service section is a record of problems, the bumper problem will be one of it. I can't see how they have the audacity to later turn around and blame you for paint defect, given the service record. For feeling sick, it's probably due to unnecessary fast acceleration + deceleration (mandatory one pedal driving). Have you tried "chill" mode? I drive in this mode all the time and wife+parents+kids all say the car is very smooth and refined. From test driving many and long term EV ownership, I found Tesla pedal mapping is one of the best in the industry. Sorry, that sounds like fanboy response. Sometimes a car isn't suitable for one person may be the perfect car for someone else. Dealing with the company, in case of a lemon, however...... that kind of experience shouldn't have happened.

It's probably a draw of luck with Tesla, same with any dealership TBH. But their Made in China cars are hugely improved in quality. My Model Y had been perfect in fit and finish. I noticed some mist in taillights and they came out fixed in on my driveway within a week. No need to take time off routine visiting any dealership or service centre. All my communication with Tesla before and after purchase were done in efficient and professional manner, my service centre is Park Royal West London, probably one of the better ones. So far, I'm extremely happy with the company and how they've conducted themselves. I have zero problem recommending their product to anyone.

May be a rebadge (rounder, smaller) of their up-coming Explorer EV, which is based on VW's MEB platform. Or a EV based on VW's upcoming ID 2 platform?

EV real world range and cost to charge
If you are okay driving at 60mph, sure. I don't think even cars known for their efficiency (Ioniq (classic) or Model 3) can achieve that at 70 mph in cold weather. But if you are looking at efficiency, Ioniq 38 kWh is worth considering? Should do 180 miles.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Just traditional dealership not understanding EV's. The hand-over consisted more on in-car features than how to charge the EV, rapid charging need-to-know's. I think what they meant to say is range on a 100% charge, and Podpoint solo can be installed at home. I believe there's some sort of Nissan partnership with Podpoint.

Need bigger open mouth! BIGGER! The side and rear feels like a Chinese copy, I do like the front lights though, round with a hint of squint.

UK Public Charger Network & price increases as they are announced. Please post here as you become aware of any changes in the costs.
Great to see BEV almost double PHEV sales. Yesterday afternoon, when I got home, I managed to recharge 1-2% using completely free excess solar. But only 1.4 kWh went into the battery while 2.3 kWh is pulled by the charger. This is why car chargers require minimum charge rate is 5 Amps. Tesla web API can go down to 1 Amp, I was charging at ~3 Amps yesterday. Energy monitor says less than 0.1 kWh was consumed from grid and only 0.3 kWh "escaped" into the grid during that 3 hour period. Looking forward to V2H with Leaf. The purpose built Chademo inverter would consume far less and its resolution is 40w. On days like this, we can literally drive and live on sunshine for free. (yes, installation cost is considered, I've broken even about now after 8 years)

Does that list combine different drivetrains? Pug 208 and 2008 have electric versions. Keep in mind Model Y only had 1 shipment in Feb 2022 for UK, so percentage change is not a reliable figure. I think it's the VAT on top of flat charging tariff that is hampering the value aspect of public charging EV ownership. If you do anywhere near average miles and if post can come from home, it's worth switching to likes of Octopus Go at 12p/kWh, or Intelligent at 10p/kWh if have compatible hardware.

It's obviously dealership/manufacturer bulk buying discounts. Tesla "famously" doesn't do this type of discounts so have been left off. If it's price based, Model 3 will be cheaper than the Ford SUV and Enyaq. Don't forget, road tax is coming in 2025.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
What happens if someone plug in at 7pm and unplug at 9pm, price change at 8pm. assuming 7 kW throughout the period, would they pay half at expensive rate and half at cheap rate? At home it works this way because smart meters. But if it's the charger working this out, it may not work. Podpoint, for example (until 6 months ago, not sure if this changed recently), only logs plugging-in time and their app calculates home charging cost based on plug-in time. Sufficient to say it's as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Out of interest, how do they bill you for charging at cheaper rates? Do they need smart meter on every charger? I've never seen used any Time-of-use priced charger apart from Tesla superchargers, Tesla are done in a dumb way where the time you plug in is used to calculate price, so if you plug in 1 minute before the end of expensive tariff, stupidly your whole session is still at expensive price. Similarly, plug in before expensive period starts, get charged cheap price even if end within expensive period. (based on my reading, I've only used these once so far so no actual experience)

the truth about electric cars
It's the problem with CCS plug. The locking is controlled by the car. (I think) all cars apply same locking strategy as Type 2 cable. Chademo plug is controlled by the charger. So I was able to get a charge once at Ikea (back when Ecotricity owned it) once Outlander PHEV finished charging. Charge complete, plug unlocks, double parking bay means second user can plug in and start another session. I whole heartedly agree it should be mandated to unlock on charging completion, and/or idle fees should apply when charge rate slows below certain point (eg. 6 kW). There must also be 7 kW slow destination posts nearby though, in case people want to charge to 100%. As toot said, location location location. If rapid charger are randomly installed into car parks, it gives the wrong idea.

the truth about electric cars
That's NOT how rapid charger works. Rapid charger are like petrol pumps. Move the car after filling up and paying. If they want to plug in and disappear, plug into a Type 2! I don't understand why people couldn't make the distinction.

Totally agree. When I see 3 battery temperature bars on Leaf, I know it's going to have reduced range. Thankfully if the car is in daily use, it stays at 4 bars except for extreme cold days. Meanwhile, for Tesla, I have programmed a Home Assistant automation and toggle. This means I can set it to pre-condition using AC power during cheap electricity periods (automation will set a low cabin temperature, but pre-condition when connected to AC will see the vehicle to pre-condition the battery as well). In coldest days I have done that and only used 1 kWh extra (8p). But in the morning when I scanned data using ScanMyTesla app, it shows battery is ~13c.

Ford will reveal VW-based EV on March 21st 2023.
It's just ID4 in Ford styling. Still no frunk. Late to the market, as usual with Ford.
