  6. yes, was done via compression test. i dont think i can put the engine in myself so i guess the only other option is scrap it and get another car.
  7. hi guys bad news! mechanic just told me i have to get a new engine as one of my valves has gone. should i try get another engine or scrap it and get another one?
  8. yep, a refractor is what it is called. my coolant has definitely been flushed less than 5 years ago, i have still got a brand new tub of pink coolant whenever i want to do it then il be ready.
  9. from what i can remember, i have only topped it up very slightly twice from the time i have owned the car.
  10. the brake cylinder was leaking few years ago and all the brake fluid leaked out so basically when i changed the cylinder in the rear drum brakes, i filled the brake fluid with new fluid so i guess that counts as changing brake fluid?
  11. thank you guys my coolant is still bright and no bits in it. i have used this special device ( cant remember what its called) and it says it is till good for minus 30. so not sure if mine actually needs doing now.
  12. hi guys i am planning on changing the coolant in few weeks, last time it got changed was around 2 and half years ago by my previous mechanic. i had a quick look on some youtube and some people are taking their thermostat out. question is, do i need to take the thermostat out or is there another way? many thanks

  17. its a very simple thing to check really and i could have done this and saved alot of grief.
  18. ok guys, another update: i have just replaced the flat tyre and the mechanic noticed that the size on the spare wheel is in fact same as my other wheels. i told him that it looks smaller on the cat though and it was because the alloy/metal part on the spare wheel is smaller than the alloys on the other wheels. i have never thought to look at the sizes that is on the spare wheel. the mechanic also told me the sticker is on by defualt as @AGFalco have stated. i am very sorry guys to have wasted your time, i just didnt think 😞
  19. thank oyu, yeah the wheel doesnt feel soft and doent look squidgy at the bottom too. i wont be driving now till the weekend then il get my normal wheel repaired next monday.
  20. ok, took more photos: it says 63, so im guessing 63 psi?

  22. thank you guys, have took some pictures of the tire:
  23. i have changed mine for an after market one too but i had to get another harness for it then just plug them all in but with the dance radio, i could switch it on and off without the keys but with the after market radio, i cant do that, i have to start the car up for it to switch on.
  24. hi guys i am using my spare wheel and just wondering what the psi should be? right now i have used 20 psi as the normal wheels are 30 psi but becuase the spare wheel is smaller, i have used 20, is this correct? couldnt find any info on the net as they said between 30 and 65 psi and another one said 30 psi, that has got to be for a normal size spare wheel. many thanks
  25. many thanks think i got the right pipes, sprayed some brake cleaner on those pipes and the rpm hasnt made any difference. bought some more spark plugs from euro car parts and when starting the engine, it sounds much better tan before. before it was bit hesitant to start but this time, it made the k k k noise, when i turn the key. hard to explain the noise. il try upload a video later.
