just got back form garage, the guy plugged it to his computer and it was showing misfire on his computer too. he put one of the old spark plug i had in boot and changed it on the cyl 3 and the misfire had gone. it was a faulty spark plug so i am happy now, just need to order another one now want to say thank you for your help and everyone else who helped too

i did have one but sold it as i didnt use it. i am going to garage in about 10 minutes, i will asked them to do a compression test. do you think that has something to do with it?

you must have already seen my work, i have put more tape on with cable ties from what i can see and feel, its only one side of the pipe that is split. that round thing at the back where the pipe connects to, that is the only split that i can see and feel. i did follow the rest of the pipe and tried to feel for any split but couldnt find anything.

thing is though, it still drives fine, idles fine and no check/engine light.

another update: took the car out for a longer drive and these codes popped up: cyl.3 misfire detected fault code: P0303 central electrics: radio fault code: 01304 so yeah, it looks like i need to replace the servo pipe then it will be fixed.

no not changed the pipe yet, the pipe has been like that since i got the car. i have just took pictures of the serial number for the pipe and will order it soon. i have just swapped the coil pack between 1 and 3, cleared all codes then just drove down to shop and back, only a few minutes drive. its very strange because the only code showing now is the gateway: radio. postimage website is down so cant uplaod the screenshot.

hi guys bit of an update: i have cleared the codes twice now and each time the misfire code pops up so will have to change it to cylinder 1 and see if the codes pops up for cylinder 1. the air con code has gone now, i did what xman said, get rid of the dust in the vent by the climate button and the code has stopped coming up, just the radio thats it. while i got the obdeleven connected to my phone, i had a look around on the obdeleven and it says that i have a newer software to download?

thank you, had a feeling its the one furthest to the left. the aircon works fine, it is very cold when i put it on. when the otiginal radio was in, i made sure everything was nice and tight but now i have put another radio in as i needed usb.

i cleared the code about 7pm last night and drove around for about an hour, checked the codes and only 2 that keeps popping up. the gateway and the air conditioner. i did google them 2 and apparently people are saying its something to do with VW TPI? either its a software issue or its meant to do that? quite confusing. i will be driving some more and update later thank you, will do.

thank you, will do as soon as i find out which is cylinder 1 and 3. i have googled where cylinder 3 is and its saying its the furthest left one? i would have thought it was the furthest right one.

ok guys, an update: did the code reading and these came up: engine: cyl.3 misfire detected code: P0303 air conditioning: ctrl module faulty code: 65535 gateway: radio code: 01304 the air conditioning has always been there and so has the gateway. you guys were right about the misfire, its on cylinder 3 so do i just change the coil pack for cylinder 3 or now that i have erased the code, it wont come back?

thank you, i will be ringing my garage tomorrow to get a quote on replacing the vacuum pipe, i know its an easy fix but if its cheap enough then i might just aswel let garage sort it. they might even have the pipe in their garage already. i will do the code reading tomorrow and will update.

do you hav the link for the full vacuum pipe please? il order it then get my garage to fit it for me. i tried using the obdeleven but was having issues with internet.

my brakes doesnt work whenever i stall the car, i have had the look on the vacuum pipe and they did have splits on them. i have since used electrical tape around teh split.

i did some research on obd readers and alot of people recommended the obdeleven, that was the reason i bought it. which one would you recommend? also would you like me to take more pictures as i have them here with me? didnt throw them away just in case. i made sure it was tight though.
