  1. thank you, i think that would be best as i have a feeling they probably wouldnt listen to me anyway.
  2. should i say something to the mechanic about the bolt or let him figure it out?
  3. that was what the mechanic said, somewhere along the steering column is a dry joint. he did say that he will replace it on monday as i need my car for the weekend and monday is the only day i have off. he said it is safe to drive it too.
  4. update: the mechanic told me it is a dry joint and that if the noise does not go away in a few miles then he will replace it.
  5. thank you for confirming that, i will take it back to garage tomorrow. problem is i will need my car around 5pm tomorrow, if i take car down about 11 am, would you think it will be done?
  6. hi guys, got the steering rack replaced yesterday, started driving the car tonight, been fine at first then all of a sudden as i was turning right from standoff to set off the wheel made a click noise then a grinding noise. it seems to click on a standoff but while driving it makes a grinding noise for 1 second then moves freely after that. it only does it when the wheels are centered and only going right. i want to know if it is because it a new rack and needs to bed in? many thanks
  7. just an update: drove my car quite abit tonight and the squeak has got alot quieter now. quite faint.
  8. mine is 6 clicks so i am guessing i will need to do this to lower the clicks?
  9. another thing is when i press the brake pedal, it seem to have gone down further than before. not sure if i am imagining it though but it felt higher before.
  10. thank you for that i will take it all aprt tomorrow and have a proper clean.
  11. thank you again will update soon, got work in an hour. will try inspect them tomorrow morning or so.
  12. apologies, i tend to worry when things are meant to be. ok, many thanks for that. when you say rough up the inside of the drums, do you mean sand it down slightly?
  13. i forgot about the backing plate, it might just need greasing. i will try that first.
  14. hey guys hope everyone is ok. i have changed my drum brakes around april 2019, the driver rear brakes have started to sqeak so i am guessing it will need changing again. right now i only have 50 pound and the one i bought before was around 50 but it has gone up 70 pound now. these are the one i bought: https://www.mister-auto.co.uk/brake-kit-drum-brakes/bolk/bol-c121076/ and these are the one i want to buy: https://www.mister-auto.co.uk/brake-kit-drum-brakes/ap/oek407/ i was just wondering if there is much difference in quality wise? many thanks guys
  15. i have already bookmarked that for when i can be bothered to swap it over. many thanks for that though
  16. hi this is my part number 3b2837016ab but double check as some are different though.
  17. thank you for the advice i have a habit of topping it up before it runs out, i will try to remember to flush it out every so often. the one i use is blue and i think its the one from asda. will have to look at it again to know.
  18. come to think of it, it may have been the pipe that was clogged and not the nozzle, either way i am happy we have fixed it. many thanks for the help guys, much appreciated
  19. you are absolutely correct, it was blocked. took the cap off then used a pliers and gently pulled the nozzle out and thought i will try the stalk and water came out no problem. so i just used a pin and tried to get as much out of the nozzle as possible then put the nozzle abck on and water came out. just had to realign the direction the water sprayed out. when i tried the stalk without the nozzle, there was lots of what i could describe as mud, strange.
  20. i cant believe i forgot to say this but whenever i use the stalk, there is tiny bit of water coming out of the nozzle, very tiny like a drip or 2. it doesnt squirt out but more like slowly comes out of the nozzle.
  21. from what i have read, to get to the pipe i would need to remove the panel behind the reg plate which can be fiddly when trying to put back on, to me it seems easier to check the nozzle first by removing the cap then using pliers to pull the nozzle out. i will try remove the nozzle first and check that out and will report back with an update. thank you again for the help guys
  22. apologies, forgot to update this thread. good idea on the nozzle, will try that with a pin tomorrow. had a look round and in the engine bay and no fluid anywhere, I am thinking about taking the tailgate off, maybe water is trapped in there? oh, i didnt check the passenger footwell though so maybe water might be there too?
  23. many thanks for that, will have a look tomorrow.
  24. hi guys hope everyone is ok just noticed last week that whenever i use the rear wiper, no water comes out. the front wipers works but not the rear, i can hear the pump. at first i thought it may be blocked/clogged but i cant seem to find the pipe. any one know where the pipe is please? many thanks
  25. it does look like the middle section goes insode the front section. i didnt think it was till i had a proper look at it. no, i still didnt take the other clamp off, i just left that on, i got his https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/holts-flexiwrap-silencer-repair-553999140?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjsS1uo6D8AIV54FQBh1JAQcjEAQYAiABEgJPA_D_BwE but instead of using paste, i bought some high temp sealant so it stays flexible and not harden up. i have seen the bandage one and was going to get that but it looks awkward to use as i had limited space under the car, i have watched youtube video of the bandage and it is very long so i would struggle to keep wrapping it but you need to dunk it in water for awhile.
