The Sportline lacks many of the things I want which are included in the SEL specs and also has lowered suspension which would make impossible to use on some of my local roads .

Was just about to place an order for a new Octavia SEL Estate for March delivery and find that Skoda no longer offer Matrix as an option on this model . So no new Skoda for me and will start investigating other brands .

So are we all stupid to use driver assistance systems ? I see stupid people everywhere like those who smoke cigarettes

The suggestion you make about giving up driving are rather extreme .Whilst I accept the use of assistance systems are not everyone's choice , they are mine . All the numerous changes ,tweaks and attempts to foil the systems seem perverse to me . Therefore I shall continue to employ them to the full on my car .

I cannot be bothered to fiddle around with the systems and am happy to allow the default settings to operate.

Notwithstanding the somewhat asinine advice to throw away the car keys and take the bus I will continue to drive my car with all assistance systems in operation.

Thank you for your reply and suggestions .What I meant was that I do not find LA as annoying as you obviously do .All Skoda drivers not the same .The safety features on my car will remain operative .

Deliberately disabling safety features with tape ......a good idea ? I like lane assist .

Have just had first service and dealer updated from 1896 t0 1941 .

I am still running 1889 with no probs . I just had this OTA update No problems

Just to throw a spanner into the works . My car has 1889 and was a real PITA with constant reboots . After a vist to a French Skoda dealer 3 months or so ago it appeared to settle down Have got a copy of 1941 ready to install but my car running 1889 is now perfectly well behaved Given that 1889 is working as it should I'm rather reluctant to meddle , if it ain't broke etc etc . My most recent journey was from my home in the west of the uk to my home in south of France c 850 miles with no probs I will continue to use 1889 but have 1941 in reserve should problems arise. Mileage 7866 , oil change range left 1499 time left 58 days ,service inspection range left 12099 miles time left 423 days . Regards
