I run a Weber 40DCOE on a 1289cc 136. I also have a four branch exhaust manifold, ported head and (I think) SK6 cam. Everything else is standard. Fuel economy is absolutely terrible. But everything else is great. It sounds fantastic. It goes well. And it has real attitude. It doesn't have the tractability of my RiC or Felicia but isn't a bore to drive and still has sufficient torque.
Not sure if this helps - but my point is that practicalities aside, DCOEs are cracking for the sound if nothing else.

I'm not entirely sure how five months have passed (?) but I'll do my best to fill you in on that time.
1997 Skoda Felicia L
Following the MOT, the Felicia continued on as a daily car. I finished installing the Pacific interior and I taxed it. Aside from that it was business as usual with the Flying Pea. I took it along to the Lymm Historic Transport Day too and parked it next to my pal's 126. I normally consider the Felicia to be a small car but the 126 redefined that!
In August it started to misbehave with the occasional hesitation; particularly when under load. This continued to grow to the point wouldn't climb the smallest of inclines - not ideal for Wales! Time and funds were in short supply so it gradually found its way to the back of the drive. Then I bought an MZ which needed collected. The Felicia being the only car in the fleet with a tow bar it was duly dusted off and sent to the garage to be fixed. Ten days later and they still haven't even looked at it so I took it home - still running terribly. I had diagnosed enough to know the fault lay either with the coil pack or crank sensor. A coil pack was sourced on eBay (£20) and the wiring loom from a Felicia I broke was raided for the crank sensor. I swapped the crank sensor first as its quicker and easier; and what do you know? Problem solved!
With PMOL now fighting fit again, I borrows a friend's trailer and set to collecting the MZ.
Admittedly it isn't the best towing vehicle. The 54bhp at times struggling to provide sufficient forward motion; particularly uphill, but as ever PMOL plodded on and got the job done.
Now with winter upon us it becomes a question of preventive maintenance to keep the rust at bay. And I need to find a new CD player for it; the current one won't go above Vol 9!

Got myself a bike again after a few years hiatus. I rode when I was 16 through to 18 and then it fell by the wayside really.
But now, I have brought home another MZ. I haven't seen it in daylight or had it running yet but I am very excited! I got it home, squeezed it in the garage behind a Rapid and then came away to work for two weeks. :( I'm home next week though so will see where we are. I need to get it running and also buy a new helmet (previous one was damaged following an unintended meeting with tarmac...)
Collection by 54bhp Felicia - 50mph flat out!
Home safe and sound

I know this is circumstantial but if he was doing 52mph at the time of going past the crossing then he was giving it some beans around the roundabout. In the dark. In a built up area. In a two tonne vehicle. Not exactly responsible is he? Whilst you can't deny that they shouldn't have crossed the road when the red man was showing- this is certainly a case where excessive speed is the main cause of the incident.

I do a bit of driving for the local charity - driving minibuses like.
My favourites are the Sprinter and the Crafter. The Peugeots are bloody horrible - terrible interior and god awful build quality.
Mind you, try finding a van that hasn't been hit with every branch of the ugly tree these days is a real struggle.

I won't be able to beat BossFox but just for the sake of argument... TWO!

Yeah it is plastic. I figured it isn't going to rust - it just looks really unsightly - particularly as it is one of my favourite features of the mk3 vRS.
I did wonder if you could sand it down, fill it, sand it and paint it... but it would probably end up looking rubbish and then you'd only have to pay a professional to redo what you'd messed up.
Dallen75 - I'll give you a message during my next leave; can sort something out. I'll have to wash it first though...

Hello.
So yesterday I started sorting out some of my Skoda brochures and the front room ended up looking like this!
So please help me and buy some of my items on eBay!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/skodanorman/m.html?item=121450519585&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
There is some pretty interesting and rare stuff including Octavia vRS roadtests, Fabia sedan brochures and rare Fun brochures.
Discounts for multiple purchases.
Drop me a PM with any enquiries.

This was an independent bodyshop.
Rest of car,
-
It's a mk3 vRS (Octavia).
-
So the driveway at Skodanorman Towers gas claimed another victim. As can be seen the front bumper has had a small impact with the garage door post.
The damage is quite minute and the plastic hasn't split. My local bodyshop has quoted £280 for the repair. Seems a hell of a lot to me. Your opinions would be valued.
-
Sold. Thanks for all the interest.
-
Postage will be £6 to mainland.
So £11 to your door.
-
Yeah, pre fl. Off a 2007 car.
-
Yeah. Let me know where to and I'll find a price for you.
-
Hi all.
I have this grille insert left over from my Octavia. I removed it when I fitted a honeycomb grille.
Any interest in it? £5
-
Good on you for taking committing so much to the project. I can't wait to see it done!
-
I don't. But you could source an engine and rebuild it to give you a new one?
-
Makes it quite a rare beast then.
-
I think there were some on eBay not so long ago?
Failing that, I should try contacting Skoparts International. -
Thanks for that. I just wondered if you could make it sound a bit, well, louder!

To be clear, you've removed the old thermostat (in the metal housing) and fitted the new style (in the plastic housing)?
There is a fault because it should sit at 90c. Have you tried removing the theromstat and checking that you haven't left any debris in the housing?
